Chapter 007: Spatial Magic

Hearing Kroff’s voice, Tu Xian felt delighted once again. Thankfully, he had obtained the water from the Fountain of Life; otherwise, if this human boy had given it to Kroff while he didn’t have any, he would have suffered a huge loss! That way, when fighting Kroff next time, he could recover quickly, while he couldn’t—wouldn’t that mean he’d lose to him? Although giving away ten level-9 magic stones was painful, thinking that it would prevent him from being at a disadvantage in future battles with Kroff, Tu Xian came to terms with it.
“You sons of magical beasts, come out now!” Tu Xian shouted. Soon, twenty various creatures gathered behind him.
They were called creatures because among these twenty contestants were orcs, humans, and even magical beasts—though all of those magical beasts were also level-9.
Level-9 magical beasts were even more powerful than level-9 human experts, as they possessed innate talent attributes. Some of these special attributes granted them extremely powerful skills.
“You sons of magical beasts, follow me! Remember, this time you must bring honor to Lord Tu Xian by crushing those dwarf scum!” Tu Xian called out loudly.
“Tu Xian, how dare you speak like that?” Hearing Tu Xian’s blatant insult to the dwarf race, Kroff glared at him fiercely.
“Grandpa Kroff, we shouldn’t pay attention to those people who aren’t human nor beasts,” Basha said.
“Hahaha, what a bunch of people who aren’t human nor beasts!” Kroff laughed heartily.
“Both of you, don’t anger the Great Commander,” Du Fan warned with a smile.
At the mention of the Great Commander, the two immediately became serious and quickly led their respective groups into the cave leading to the Divine Ruins. After walking through the long cave, they arrived at a pair of huge stone doors.
Kroff and Tu Xian both took out a jade-like object and pressed it against different parts of the stone doors, which then creaked open.
As the doors opened, a deep and lingering aura emerged—such an aura seemed almost like that of a living being, giving the impression of breathing.
This deep, lingering aura fluctuated rhythmically, alternating between strong and weak waves at different intensities. It felt as though there was a great existence inside the Divine Ruins, asleep soundly.
Behind the stone doors, a translucent wall glowing with light faintly existed.

“Basha, this stone door was added by us. Beyond that wall of light lies the true remnants of the gods. Be careful inside,” Croft said solemnly. With such a high death rate, Croft had good reasons to worry.
“Let’s go, Basha.” Upon arriving at the remnants of the gods, Du Fan’s mood calmed down instead.
Beyond that wall of light were the remnants of the gods. It was because of this place that the Dwarf King and the Great Beast Commander were able to take that final step and become gods!
When the Dwarf King first entered the remnants of the gods, he was only at the Saint level. As for himself, at the peak of his Saint level with his domain powers, entering the remnants of the gods—well, his chances of coming out should not be any less than the Dwarf King’s, Du Fan thought.
After giving those few instructions, Croft and Tu Xian quickly left through the stone door, which then closed with a creak.
As the door shut, the experts among the beasts who had entered the remnants of the gods immediately attacked the dwarves in unison!
The first to charge were two level-9 beasts: a level-9 Fire Lion and a level-9 Earth Ape.
As the Fire Lion rushed forward, thick flames erupted from its body. The distance from the stone door to that wall of light was only about ten meters. Once its flames appeared, the temperature in the entire space soared dramatically. The Earth Ape was large in stature; its mouth opened wide, revealing several sharp white fangs. It attacked bare-handed, without any weapons.
Behind those two beasts came a group of orcs and humans, all rushing forward to fight!
Du Fan, Moses, and Basha immediately stepped forward to protect Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple, Naixiu, and the three magicians. They formed four layers of formation. The outermost layer consisted of Du Fan, Moses, and Basha, followed by Naixiu and the three magicians. Behind them were the five elite archers in red, yellow, blue, green, and purple.
Wielding Frostfall, Du Fan was ready for battle! Moses drew his two-handed greatsword, and Basha’s axe from his last fight against the golden dragon also shone brightly in his hand!
Over there, eight dwarves including Karu also formed a tight defensive formation, waiting for the beasts to attack.

It wasn’t Du Fan and the others who wanted to adopt such a passive defensive strategy; rather, in such a confined space, it was difficult to maneuver effectively. For these experts, most of whom were at the Saint level or above, a distance of just over ten meters could be covered in an instant. Instead of wasting time trying to counterattack, it was better to quickly form a defensive stance and rely on defense rather than offense!

The elves swiftly shot five long arrows in red, yellow, blue, green, and purple. At such a short distance, the arrows reached their targets in the blink of an eye. As soon as the earth ape saw the arrows drawn and strung, it roared loudly. Along with its roar, its body swelled rapidly. The earth ape was already nearly two meters tall, and after swelling, its height approached three meters! The magical beasts quickly took cover behind the earth ape. Aside from the arrows that missed their targets, only three more arrows managed to hit its massive body.

A yellowish glow enveloped the earth ape’s body, and whenever the incoming arrows touched that glow, they were stopped, unable to penetrate further!

That yellowish glow was formed from the dense earth element within the earth ape’s body. When the arrows fell to the ground weakly, their tips that had entered the yellow light had already solidified into stone-like masses.

Although the arrows didn’t cause any damage to the magical beasts, the five arrows in red, yellow, blue, green, and purple had already blocked their fierce first wave of attacks. The experts from the magical beast side, who had been rushing toward Du Fan’s group, were slightly slowed down by the arrows.

While the magical beast side’s movements were hindered, the three magicians had also completed their spells. In front of Du Fan, Moses, and Basha, green plants grew rapidly, quickly forming a thick, dense natural barrier of plants!

“Let’s go, into the Divine Ruins,” Du Fan ordered in a low voice.

With the plant barrier in place, Du Fan and his twelve companions rushed toward the shimmering wall of light. Unlike those experts from the magical beast side, who still thought that another irreconcilable conflict had arisen between the magical beasts and the dwarves, requiring a duel within the Divine Ruins to resolve it, Du Fan and his group—aside from Basha, who had a sense of honor as a dwarf—cared nothing about the dwarves’ honor at all.

As those people rushed away quickly, something strange happened. Although they seemed to be very close to the wall of light—only about four or five meters away—their speed should have allowed them to run hundreds of meters by now! Yet, it felt to them as though they were still in the same place. With Du Fan’s keen sense, he realized he had only moved a little bit!

“Everyone, pay attention! There must be some spatial magic at work here, expanding this area. Even though it looks like the wall of light is just a few meters away, it’s actually quite far from us!” Du Fan quickly figured out why they couldn’t cross that seemingly short distance.

“Du Fan, I forgot to mention—there really is some strange spatial magic in this area. At our speed, it will take at least ten minutes to reach that wall of light.”

“Ten minutes!” Moses exclaimed!

After all, Du Fan and the others were already at the Saint level or above. For such skilled fighters, running for ten minutes would mean covering dozens of kilometers.

Dozens of kilometers that appeared to be only a few meters away—such a spatial magic spell indicated that the caster’s power far exceeded Du Fan’s imagination!

Watching Basha run away swiftly, Karu was stunned. They hadn’t expected that Basha entering the Divine Ruins wasn’t for fighting against the magical beasts at all; their goal was to truly enter the Divine Ruins!

Seeing Basha and the others flee, Karu found himself in a very conflicted and sad situation. If he stayed outside while Basha and the others went in, the battle would turn into 8 against 20, putting Karu at a huge disadvantage.

If he wanted to follow Basha into the Divine Ruins, he would have to face immense danger. Although some had entered the Divine Ruins before, none of them had ever come back!

With a 100% mortality rate, this made the eight dwarfs, including Karu, give up the idea of following them into the Divine Ruins. Yet, the eight of them still ran toward the glowing wall.

The thick barriers created by the three elf magicians prompted the skilled magical beast fighters to draw their weapons and attack, slashing and chopping. But those plant barriers simply deflected their weapons.

The Fire Lion roared loudly, its entire body engulfed in raging flames that burned fiercely, with an almost unstoppable momentum!

Flames surged into the sky as the fire lion slowly approached the plant barrier. Under the blazing flames, the plant barrier began to burn! Two minutes later, the plant barrier was completely destroyed. The experts from the beast side immediately saw that the dwarves were desperately running toward the wall of light. “Suren, should we chase after them?” an orc asked a human. The man named Suren remained expressionless for a few seconds before saying, “Don’t chase them in yet. Wait to see if they really intend to enter the Divine Ruins. If they do enter, we’ll leave right away. I don’t believe they can all survive once they’re inside.” “What if they don’t enter the Divine Ruins?” the orc asked again. “If they don’t go in, we’ll storm in!” Suren replied coldly. In the eyes of the beast side’s experts, a strange sight appeared: a group of people was running rapidly just a few meters ahead. By their posture, it seemed they were indeed running, but after running for a long time, they hadn’t moved much at all! Within a distance of four or five meters, there were as many as twenty people packed together!
