Chapter 008: Green Mountains
Watching this extremely bizarre scene, the experts from the magical beast side burst into laughter!
Du Fan and his group looked as if someone was acting in front of them! They were clearly running hard, yet they couldn’t cover any distance at all!
“Younger brother Du Fan, Cousin Karu is catching up. Should we wait for them?” Basha asked.
Through their long acquaintance, Basha had clearly realized that in this group of over two thousand elves, Du Fan was the leader. So, whenever something happened, Basha preferred to ask Du Fan directly.
“Don’t worry about them. Let’s run to the Light Wall first. If they want to follow, they’ll enter the Divine Ruins directly. If they don’t want to go in, there’s nothing we can do!” Du Fan said.
Thinking it over, Basha saw it made sense and stopped asking.
After another eight or nine minutes, Du Fan and his group finally arrived in front of the Light Wall.
The twelve of them stopped there, and Basha turned around and called out to Karu, “Cousin Karu, we really are going to enter the Divine Ruins. Do you want to come in with us?”
This question left Karu stunned.
Karu and his group’s goal in participating in this battle at the Divine Ruins wasn’t the ruins themselves but Basha. Yet, Basha actually intended to enter the Divine Ruins!
Hearing Basha ask him this, Karu was momentarily stunned before saying, “Cousin Basha, don’t you know the Divine Ruins are extremely dangerous? When I saw you running here, I thought you had some good battle plan. Who would have thought you actually intended to enter the Divine Ruins?” Karu said.
“Cousin Karu, I’m really sorry! I forgot to tell you about this,” Basha said, scratching his head.
“Cousin Basha, are you truly determined to go in?” Karu asked again, unwilling to give up.
“Yes, Cousin Karu. My brother Moses and I, along with Du Fan, have already made up our minds! We must enter the Divine Ruins this time!” Basha said firmly.
“If that’s the case, be careful once you go in. I, Karu, am not ready to enter the Divine Ruins yet and dare not go in,” Karu said apologetically.
“Alright then. Since that’s the case, Cousin Karu, I’ll go into the Divine Ruins first. Be careful here,” Basha said with a hint of regret.
“Go ahead. Don’t worry about me,” Karu said smiling and waved at Basha.
“Let’s go, Second Brother,” Du Fan said, urging Basha as he saw them talking to this point. After saying that, Du Fan took the lead and strode toward the glowing wall. It was as if entering a bubble; with a slight “pop” sound, Du Fan found himself in a completely different space. Immediately afterward, Moses, Naixiu, Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple, along with the three great elf magic masters, appeared one after another beside Du Fan. Outside the glowing wall, a dwarf asked Karu, “Karu, Basha has entered the Divine Ruins. What should we do now?” “Haha, once he’s inside the Divine Ruins, how could Basha possibly come out alive? Our original plan was to kill Basha during this battle against the magical beasts. Since Basha wants to go into the Divine Ruins to die on his own, I can’t be blamed for that,” Karu said with a laugh. “What if they’re not dead?” the dwarf asked again. “Impossible, that’s absolutely impossible. For hundreds of years, has anyone ever heard of someone coming out of the Divine Ruins alive?” Karu’s expression changed as he shouted. “But Karu, last time you said Basha going to kill that golden dragon was a certain death too. Yet, Basha came back alive and actually killed that golden dragon,” the dwarf reminded him. “I know that. Basha happened to meet those humans and elves while slaying the dragon, which is why he was able to kill it. Otherwise, with his strength, it would have been impossible for him to kill that dragon,” Karu said. “Bad news, Karu! The experts from the side of the magical beasts are coming toward us!” another dwarf shouted. Looking back, they saw that the group of twenty humans and beasts had also entered this strangely altered space where distances had returned to normal! “Everyone, get ready for battle!” Seeing those experts from the side of the magical beasts, Karu, holding a pair of shiny axes, shouted loudly. After entering this strange space, the side of the magical beasts realized that the distances within it had returned to normal. They were now very far away from Basha and his group! In fact, they had completely lost sight of Basha and the others. It wasn’t surprising—just now, their line of sight was only about five or six meters, but now, it was as if they were separated by dozens of kilometers.
After the side of the monsters entered, Karu and the others also noticed something strange. The monsters, which had been visible just moments ago, disappeared as soon as they reached the divine barrier of the Sacred Ruins. A few minutes later, as the dwarves led by Karu waited anxiously, the monsters finally reappeared before their eyes—about twenty of them, consisting of humans, orcs, or monsters, advancing toward Karu’s group with terrifying pressure. “I’m giving you a chance. If one of you commits suicide, we’ll leave,” Suren said coldly. Suren indeed gave the dwarves a great deal of leniency—just one dwarf committing suicide would result in the release of the other seven. But who would want to commit suicide? Without suicide, how could they possibly stand a chance against eight against twenty? “That’s too much! How dare you insult us like this!” one dwarf shouted loudly. “I’m giving you a chance. If one of you commits suicide, I’ll let you all go. Isn’t that a fair deal?” Suren replied coldly. “Our brave dwarf race only dies in battle! There are no cowardly suicides!” another dwarf cried out. “I’ll say it one last time—if anyone has the courage to commit suicide, I’ll spare you this time.” Hearing that shout, Suren said impatiently, “This is your last chance. I won’t ask again! Think about it—just one death, and the rest can walk away alive. This chance comes only once.” “If we’re going to fight, let’s do it! Why all this nonsense?” Karu grew impatient as Suren kept pressing them. “Those monsters act like weaklings. When have you ever heard of our dwarf race being forced to commit suicide?” a dwarf from Karu’s side shouted. Although the dwarves on Karu’s side were cunning enough to ally with him in order to defeat Basha in the battle of the Sacred Ruins, they showed no hesitation or compromise when it came to defending the honor of their race. When Suren heard them called weaklings, his expression changed instantly. It must be said that although Suren was a leader among the monsters, he didn’t resemble orcs at all. He looked like a handsome human youth, very striking in appearance. In the realm of monsters, he was often teased by powerful figures as a “little girl.”
Although Suren was powerless to do anything about the mockery from those important figures, if ordinary people mocked him like that, he would fight to the death!
Growing up in the realm of monsters, the beings there had completely different aesthetic values compared to humans. They believed that the rougher and more imposing the appearance, the more attractive it was.
Thus, Suren often felt ashamed of his delicate looks! At the word “woman,” his expression changed instantly—he leaped up and punched the dwarf who called him a woman!
Fast as lightning, his punch was fierce! The tip of his fist had even formed a vortex-like wind blast!
The dwarf never expected Suren to attack suddenly, not only was it extremely fast but also completely unexpected.
Under the stunned gaze of the other dwarfs and the unbelieving eyes of the one who spoke, the punch struck the dwarf’s chest.
The vortex-like wind blast rushed into the dwarf’s body, causing violent convulsions. He spat out blood and collapsed, motionless, his fate unknown.
After killing the dwarf with one punch, Suren stepped back slightly and said proudly, “Since none of you are willing to commit suicide, let me do it! But this time, all of you will die!”
Upon entering the Divine Ruins, Du Fan and his group were utterly stunned by the scene before them!
In the distance, there were green mountains and clear waters, a breathtaking landscape like a painting. But right beneath their feet lay piles of bones—human and beast alike!
At a glance, the distant mountains revealed where the true Divine Ruins lay. From there came a breath-like presence, as if someone were breathing inside those mountains!
Du Fan even had a strange feeling—that mountain seemed alive!
As that breath-like presence seemed to breathe, the mountain appeared to expand and shrink with it.
“Amazing!” Bashaa exclaimed. “According to my father, he suspects that mountain might actually be the manifestation of a great being.”
“That mountain is the manifestation of a great being!” Not only Du Fan but also Nai Xiu and Moses were shocked by these words!
“Of course, this is just my father’s suspicion. When he entered the Divine Ruins back then, he never even approached that green mountain,” Basha continued.
“What!” This statement made everyone jump in surprise again. If one could reach the realm of a god just by entering the Divine Ruins without even approaching that green mountain, then the benefits of actually entering that mountain must be unimaginable!
Just as these people were lost in endless fantasies about the Divine Ruins, a crackling sound under Basha’s feet snapped them out of their reverie.
Basha had stepped on a thigh bone!
As the bone was crushed, a faint blue flame emerged, and the air immediately filled with a foul smell. Although the green mountain ahead was attractive, to reach it, one had to pass through this mountain of bones beneath their feet!
It wasn’t just a mountain of bones—it was a vast expanse of white peaks, with countless mountains stretching in succession, all piled with various bones!
