Chapter 68: Pearl’s Origin
Ye Feng watched the snakes and vipers swirling around the room, frowning deeply. He decided it was time to end this fight quickly.
“Once all your precious snakes are gone, I think sending you down to join them would be a great idea!” Ye Feng took out the pistol he had once used to capture people like Long Yue from the storage box in the Void Realm.
“That thing won’t work on them!” Long Tian couldn’t help but whisper when he saw Ye Feng pull out a pistol.
“It works on you, let alone them! It’s no problem at all!” Ye Feng also lowered his voice. “This isn’t a gun—it’s a portable trap designed to catch large prey!”
“You’d better surrender right now! You can’t escape. If I’m in a good mood, maybe I’ll spare you!” It was a soft male voice. Hearing it, Pearl’s body began to tremble slightly.
Ye Feng guessed it must be Pearl’s father. “But I’m not in a good mood. I have no intention of leaving any of you alive!”
“What arrogance!” It was still that soft voice.
“You’ll know just how arrogant I am once you come in, you sissy!” Ye Feng said rudely.
“Damn you, who are you?” the soft voice snapped angrily.
“I won’t tell you who I am. I’ll drive you crazy, you sissy!” Ye Feng laughed.
“If you call me a sissy again, I’ll go in and kill you!” The voice outside was clearly furious.
“Sissy, sissy, sissy…” Ye Feng repeated it rhythmically, causing Long Tian, Qing Lang, and the others to laugh.
“You’re seeking death!” That voice was interrupted by another one.
“Elder, we can’t do that. My poison is extremely powerful. Even if you’ve broken through the Innate realm, you might not come out unscathed. Let’s wait until all the poisonous creatures are dead before going in!” It was Zuo Dao speaking.
“Put that thing away! I want to go in and kill them now!” The Elder was furious.
“Boss, being too lenient will ruin our plans,” said a gloomy voice nearby.
Hearing no more noise outside, Ye Feng winked at Long Tian. “Sissy, sissy…”
That rhythmic voice rang out again. This time, not only Ye Feng but also Long Tian and Qing Lang joined in, followed by Xiao Liu and Da Sha. Only Pearl looked worriedly toward the door.
“I want you to gather up all those useless things of yours right now, immediately! I’m going in to kill them all!” The Grand Elder finally lost his temper, but he clearly hadn’t lost his sanity and rushed in. Instead, he scolded Zuo Dao, ordering him to put away those snakes.
“Zuo Dao, forget it. Anyway, your tactics aren’t working on them anyway, and continuing to wait makes no sense. Let’s just go in and deal with them!” This time, that gloomy voice spoke again, but this time it was on the side of the Grand Elder.
“Alright!” Zuo Dao reluctantly agreed. After all, those two were stronger than him, and his tactics had already been ruined by Pearl. There was no point in continuing the stalemate.
After hearing the conversation outside, Ye Feng and the others saw the snake swarm gradually disperse, and the scorpions also left like retreating tide without Pearl’s control. Only patches of bright red blood remained on the ground.
Pearl stared fixedly at the door, her muscles tense, as if under some spell and unable to move.
Ye Feng gave her a glance but said nothing, raising his gun and aiming it at the door.
The door was pushed open. At the forefront was a white-haired man, not very tall, about 1.75 meters. Although his hair was white, his face looked like that of a man in his thirties.
“Pearl, your friends seem to be rude to me, your father. So, I have no choice but to kill them right in front of you.” As soon as he finished speaking, the others moved.
Ye Feng fired three shots in quick succession, targeting the white-haired man and the two others behind him who seemed strong.
The three were quickly tied up and fell to the ground.
The scene before their eyes left the others frozen in shock.
“Oh, it seems I’ve captured your Grand Elder. And who’s the other elder? Judging by your appearance, one of the other two targets must be among you!” Ye Feng said with a smile.
At this moment, even Long Tian remained silent, staring at Ye Feng in shock.
Pearl’s eyes almost popped out as she stared at him in disbelief.
“Can someone tell me who the other two are besides the Grand Elder?” Ye Feng stepped forward, while the others watched him warily, afraid to move, staring at the gun in his hand.
“Besides the eldest, Li Tianyu, the one with the scar on his face is the third elder, Zheng Ze. The other one is Zuo Dao, Zuo Qiu’s master!” Pearl finally stood up. She felt as though her strength had returned to her body the moment she saw the eldest trapped in the net.
“Oh, I’m sorry. You three are standing in too prominent a spot. I really didn’t mean to…” Ye Feng smiled, turned his head, and gave Long a thumbs-up. “But with you three here, it seems I don’t need anyone else, right, Long?”
Pearl didn’t even see how Long Tian moved; she only felt a strong wind blow through her hair. By the time she sorted out her hair, she saw that all ten people who had come with the two elders had fallen.
“You three have been lying on the ground for so long—that snake blood must have seeped into your bodies by now!” Ye Feng said calmly, watching the three struggling on the ground.
“If you kill us, our organization will come for revenge!” Li Tianyu threatened.
“Is that so? Even you, the eldest, have been captured by me. Do you really think your organization poses any threat to me, Ye Feng?” Ye Feng grabbed Li Tianyu by the collar and said coldly.
“Is everything you said just now true?” At this moment, Pearl stared coldly at Zuo Dao. “About my mother…”
“Let me go, and I’ll tell you. I can even tell you more truths!” Zuo Dao clung to his last straw.
“Tell me now, right away!!!” Pearl screamed hysterically.
“Let me go!” Zuo Dao shook his head.
“Most of it is true!” This time, it was Zheng Ze, who had remained silent until now, who spoke. “Li Tianyu used to be a laborer in the Emei Sect. He secretly learned some basic martial arts. Once, driven by lust, he forced himself on a female disciple of the Emei Sect. The sect leader was furious. He disabled Li Tianyu’s martial skills, damaged the meridians in that area with internal energy, ensuring he could never touch women again, and expelled him from the sect. The woman he kidnapped was Lin Xin, the youngest daughter of the Emei Sect leader back then… Over twenty years ago, he kidnapped her at the foot of Mount Emei as revenge against the sect leader.”
“How is that possible?” Pearl looked at Zheng Ze in astonishment.
“At that time, I wasn’t yet an elder in the organization, while he was already the senior elder. I was just a special operations team leader. He transferred me to work under him because he had heard that I was cold-blooded and cruel. He ordered me to rape that woman, to do what he couldn’t do himself, to avenge him and vent his hatred. I had sex with that woman…” Zheng Ze fell into memories. “It was the first time I had been with a woman like that. After that, I found her image lingering in my mind… She was a beautiful woman…”
“I applied ointment to her new wounds every day. Even though her eyes were always closed, she might not have felt the pain… I fell hopelessly in love with that woman… Li Tianyu found out about it, and he also learned that the woman had my child. By then, I had been promoted to a new elder and became someone who was no longer under his control. So, he used that woman and her child to threaten me, forcing me to do his bidding.”
“I had no choice but to submit, because without him, both the woman and the child would die. A few months passed, and then he told me that if I could find him a living pregnant woman for his experiments, he would let my woman and child go… I refused, because I didn’t want to see anyone else treated that way.”
“That day, he took the child out of the mother’s womb and called me, ordering me to bring back a pregnant woman right away so that he would sew up your mother’s wounds…”
“I agreed out of desperation… By the time I arrived, he had already thrown away the child, saying it was dead. I wanted to kill him, but he told me he had planted a parasitic worm in the woman’s womb to keep her alive… Without him, the woman would die too…”
“From that day on, I became a living corpse. I didn’t dare go against any of his orders. All I wanted was for my woman to survive…”
“Five years later, he brought back a girl, a pretty little girl. Spies told me it was his illegitimate child, the one he had thrown into the trash heap back then…”
“Are you my father?” Pearl’s tears flowed uncontrollably.
“That’s also why you always secretly protected me whenever I made mistakes… I’ve been puzzled by this for a long time—why would the third elder protect the senior elder’s daughter…” Pearl’s tears continued to flow.
“Is the story over?” Li Tianyu demanded viciously. “Even if I die, your woman will still meet her end!”
“Shut your fucking mouth!” Long Tian slapped him hard, then pinned him to the ground and punched his face repeatedly. “Shut up, beast!!!”
“That woman may still be alive, but for over twenty years, she’s lived in nightmares. Do you think it makes any sense for her to live like this?” Ye Feng looked at Zheng Ze.
“I’ve already lost my daughter. I can’t lose her again…” Zheng Ze shook his head quietly. “Even though she doesn’t even know I exist…”
“You haven’t lost your daughter yet!” Ye Feng smiled and shook his head, untying the net that bound him.
“Are you willing to admit… that I’m your father…” Zheng Ze’s eyes filled with tears. “I’ve done so many wrong things… I hurt your mother…”
“Dad…” Zhenzhu took Zheng Ze’s hand. “It’s not your fault…”
“You, give me the antidote!” Ye Feng grabbed Zuo Dao. “The snake venom antidote!”
“Let me go!” Zuo Dao still insisted.
“No problem.” Ye Feng stared at Zuo Dao, seeing no sign of him backing down. “But it has to wait until they’ve taken the antidote and are fine. And you have to take it first!”
“Do you promise to let me go?” Zuo Dao doubted him.
“I promise!” Ye Feng nodded.
“Let me go!” Zuo Dao said with a smug smile.
“The antidote!” Ye Feng released Zuo Dao and stretched out his right hand.
Zuo Dao took out a bottle, swallowed a pill, then handed the bottle to Ye Feng.
Ye Feng gave the antidote to Zheng Ze.
After more than ten minutes, the symptoms of the snake venom gradually subsided, and Zuo Dao turned to leave.
As he stepped out the door, relieved, he suddenly felt a severe pain in his abdomen. He looked down and saw a hand piercing through his stomach. He turned to look and said, “You…” before collapsing.
“Ye Feng promised to let you go, but I didn’t!” Zheng Ze pulled his hand back and turned to Ye Feng. “I’m sorry. I had to do this.”
Ye Feng shrugged indifferently. “At least I kept my promise and let him go. It’s a shame he couldn’t get out on his own…”
“What should we do about this psychopathic effeminate?” Ye Feng looked at Zhenzhu.
