Chapter 67: Unconventional Methods
“Why?” Ye Feng, who was about to shoot again, immediately turned to look at Pearl.
“I know why he didn’t attack you last night. He spent the entire night plotting!” Pearl stared at the snake corpse. “He fed those snakes another type of poison. When mixed with snake blood, it becomes highly toxic and can enter the human body through pores… Do you see those black powdery substances in the pool of snake blood?”
“You mean he spent the whole night feeding those snakes poison just to deal with us this morning?” Ye Feng finally understood why that guy hadn’t attacked when they were at their weakest—because he wasn’t confident. As long as Ye Feng used the shield to protect everyone, he wouldn’t stand a chance.
“That’s right. But feeding the poison doesn’t take much time. He just needed to add it to the snakes’ food. The snakes would eagerly eat the poisoned food. This slow-acting poison actually causes severe damage to the snakes’ hearts. Usually, it takes more than eight hours for the poison to mix with their blood. But within 24 hours of ingestion, their hearts burst, killing them. However, during that time, they become extremely aggressive.” Pearl explained.
“If we can’t kill them, what should we do?” Hearing Pearl’s words, Ye Feng didn’t know what to do.
“I have a way.” Pearl said, taking out a small bag from her bag. She scattered the yellow powdery substance around the group, then took out a wooden flute from her backpack.
“What are you doing?” Long Tian frowned slightly.
Pearl glanced at Long Tian and Ye Feng, put the flute to her lips, and began to play a strange rhythm.
More and more snakes surrounded Ye Feng and the others, but they never dared approach the yellow line.
“Is she playing the flute for those snakes?” Qing Lang asked quietly.
At that moment, strange noises came from the window. Ye Feng and the others looked over and saw scorpions crawling in through the window. Soon, the scorpions started climbing in from outside and engaged in fierce battles with the snakes.
“Can her flute control those scorpions?” Qing Lang stared in shock at the scene.
By now, Pearl had stopped playing. She let the scorpions and snakes fight among themselves before collapsing weakly to the ground.
Ye Feng quickly supported her. “What happened?”
“I’m fine. I’m just a bit weak. Playing this instrument also consumed a lot of my internal energy…” Pearl shook her head.
“Is this the reinforcements you called?” Ye Feng said with a smile.
“That’s right. My scorpions won’t be affected by this kind of poison. Let them take care of it!” Pearl nodded with a smile.
“I understand now why people call you the ‘Beauty of Snakes and Scorpions’.” Ye Feng pointed at the snakes and scorpions all over the room.
“Oh, can I take it that you’re complimenting me?” Pearl’s lips curled slightly.
At that moment, there was a knocking at the door.
Ye Feng and the others looked at Qing Lang in surprise.
“Who is it?” Qing Lang also paused for a moment before asking.
“I didn’t expect that woman to be here. It completely ruined my plans. I thought I could take care of you all this time…” A slightly hoarse man’s voice came from outside.
“Is it really you, Zuo Dao?” Pearl looked at the door warily.
“That’s right. I’m here to avenge my own son!” The voice from outside was filled with uncontrollable anger.
“Your son? Zuo Dao, have you gone mad? He’s just your disciple!” Pearl thought Zuo Dao was mentally unstable.
“That’s right. He’s my disciple, and also my own son…” Zuo Dao’s voice gradually quieted down. “Over twenty years ago, for an experiment on a living subject, I kidnapped a female disciple from Emei. I brought her to my residence, stripped her naked, and intended to perform a vivisection… But for some reason, when I saw her naked body, my lust surged. I had never felt that way about any other body… After having sex with her, I suddenly had an idea—I wanted her to give birth to a child for me. I wanted to conduct an experiment on her to create a child born with poison, and I would train that child to become the greatest poison master in the world.”
“I performed an artificial insemination on her and injected different poisons into her body every day, keeping her in a unconscious state. The fetus grew inside her day by day. After over nine months, the fetus was finally mature. I cut open that woman alive and took out the fetus I wanted…”
“That way, the child born with poison was created. I raised him day by day, teaching him various poison techniques, never telling him that I was his father…”
“You twisted pervert!” Pearl could no longer bear to listen any longer.
“As far as I know, your father seems to have done similar things, right?” Zuo Dao’s voice clearly reached everyone’s ears.
“Shut up, beast!!!” Pearl gasped violently.
“There are quite a few beautiful women on Emei Mountain. If not for your father’s inspiration, I wouldn’t have thought of going to Emei to find women…” Zuo Dao’s voice continued to drift in.
“Shut up!!!” Pearl roared hysterically.
“I know quite a lot about you. Your mother was the youngest daughter of the Emei Sect’s leader. After being kidnapped by that man, she was tortured in every possible way and locked up in a cage for various inhumane experiments. About seven months later, you were forcibly taken out of your mother’s womb—just because that man suddenly came up with a way to breedGu worms worms by placing them inside pregnant women… Fortunately, you were found by a trash collector who was rummaging through the garbage and survived.”
“Just over a year old, that old trash collector starved to death trying to feed you. Then you were sent to an orphanage until you were five. Your father accidentally learned of you and brought you back to the organization. He believed you had the same filthy blood as him and thought you could become a weapon to help him kill people… He putGu worms worms in you to control you and taught you poison skills… to make you kill innocent people and erase your conscience. Everything he did was to turn you into someone like him. Unfortunately, he’s very disappointed by what happened this time…”
Pearl collapsed weakly on the ground. Many things she didn’t even know about were cruelly revealed. She had no doubt about their truthfulness, as many of the descriptions matched what she already knew. Now she knew even more.
Ever since she accidentally learned that her father was that man, she had hated her mother for not taking her with her… Now she finally understood that her mother was actually even more pitiable than herself…
“I have good news for you all. One minute ago, those who are chasing you have already arrived beside me. Your father is here too… After the battle between those snakes and scorpions, it will be Ye Feng and Long Tian’s turn to die!” Zuo Dao’s disgusting voice rang out again.
