Chapter 75: The Hamilton Plan
There are actually four cities named Hamilton around the world. The Hamilton Kevin mentioned to Ye Feng is located in the southeastern part of Ontario, Canada, and serves as Canada’s financial center.
Long Tian watched Ye Feng walking ahead of him. Ye Feng had remained silent for hours—since they boarded the plane until they arrived at their hotel—without saying a word. Finally, Long Tian couldn’t bear the silence any longer. “Are we just going to search for that beauty named Kelly like headless flies? At least give me a photo or something to look at!”
“No need. I can find out where she is right away!” Ye Feng said as he put on his detection glasses and activated the range detection function.
The upgraded detection function was incredibly powerful, allowing Ye Feng to see everything in Hamilton. There weren’t many naturally strong individuals in the city, so Ye Feng quickly located Kelly’s whereabouts.
Ye Feng’s expression turned grim after the range detection. Long Tian, who had been watching him waiting for results, easily noticed the change. “What’s wrong? Didn’t you find her?”
“I found her, but we might be in trouble this time!” Ye Feng frowned. “The guy who kidnapped Kelly is stronger than you!”
“How is that possible? How do you know he’s stronger than me?” Long Tian looked utterly incredulous.
“Strongers at my level appear white on the detection screen. Those one level above me, at the Ningdan stage, appear yellow. You’re at the Jindan stage, so you appear red. One level higher is orange, and even higher is purple. That guy is orange!” Ye Feng adjusted the detector’s settings, then took it off and handed it to Long Tian. “If you check it yourself, it should show yellow!”
Unsure, Long Tian put on Ye Feng’s glasses.
“Click on the guy who appears yellow to you, then check his personal information. You’ll be able to see his combat stats!” Ye Feng instructed.
“I see it!” Long Tian nodded and read aloud:
Total Combat Value: 2,410,613
Strength: 6,339,12
Speed: 662,843
Mental Power: 531,921
Spiritual Energy: 581,937
“That’s right. Compare it with your own stats to see what your mortality rate would be!” Ye Feng continued to teach Long Tian how to use the detector.
Total Combat Value: 1,481,420
Strength: 371,250
Speed: 375,370
Mental Strength: 36,219
Thunder Attribute Spiritual Energy: 37,261
Survival Rate: 1%, Death Rate: 96%, Escape Success Rate: 3%
“Uh, are these numbers accurate?” Long Tian couldn’t help but ask. Though he already knew what Ye Feng’s answer would be, he still couldn’t resist asking.
“All combat figures are precise. As for survival rates and such, they refer to what happens in direct confrontation. They don’t take into account environmental factors or other variables—these are probabilities under undisturbed conditions,” Ye Feng explained.
“So, that guy is a vampire count?” Long Tian took off his glasses and handed them back to Ye Feng.
“That just means things are even worse, because vampires of the same level have far too many advantages over humans. Their speed, their strength, and their exceptional recovery abilities…” Ye Feng frowned. His plan to take him out in one go and rescue Kelly was now shattered.
“It seems we need to come up with a strategy! Otherwise, the chances of dying are very high!” Ye Feng sat on the sofa, fingers buried in his hair, his gaze fixed blankly on the coffee table in front of him.
Long Tian crossed his arms and leaned against the doorframe, remaining silent for a while. “I’ll distract him while you rescue Kelly!”
“Stop being silly. The most likely outcome of that is you dying, and then him finding me and killing me as well.” Ye Feng turned his head to glance at Long Tian and shook his head. “You need to know that if you really meet him, your survival rate is less than 1%!”
“The best approach is to wait for him to go out! Then we can sneak in and rescue her! Right now, that’s the only feasible method. Fortunately, there’s no one above the Innate Realm in the house where he’s holding Kelly, so you can easily take care of everyone there,” Ye Feng proposed his initial plan.
“Since you’ve already thought of a plan, let’s go with it. It seems to be the safest option for now!” Long Tian agreed to the plan as well.
“There are still many details to consider. We need to wait patiently for a few days, observe their routines, and use my detector to listen in on what they say and gather information,” Ye Feng listed some of the details that came to mind.
“Win by outsmarting them?” Long Tian raised his eyebrows and gave Ye Feng a thumbs up. “That’s indeed a clever approach!”
“I can think of that much for now regarding the details. These next few days, we can’t show our true faces; every time we appear, we need to change our appearance and try to look like locals. After all, two Chinese people here will definitely draw the attention of certain people. I have twenty sets of disguise gear here—pick ten for yourself, and ten will be mine! We might need them later!” Ye Feng took out a bunch of things that looked like human skin masks with various colors of hair and spread them out on the coffee table.
“But the accent is a big problem!” Long Tian said to Ye Feng. “It’s not easy to pretend to be a local!”
“I have a small device here. Stick it on your throat and then cover it with this mask. That way, the accent you speak will have a strong local flavor! There are hundreds of voices to choose from!” Ye Feng handed Long Tian a piece of tape-like material. “With our heights and builds, it won’t be difficult to disguise ourselves as Canadians.”
“That sounds interesting!” Hearing Ye Feng’s words, Long Tian’s originally dull mood immediately became more enthusiastic.
“Don’t see ourselves as ourselves. Think of ourselves as others. Try to stay low-key and ordinary. Don’t do anything that draws attention or gets people to focus on you! The less attention we draw, the greater our chances of success!” Ye Feng’s confidence began to return gradually.
“I finally understand how hard it is to be an Oscar-winning actor!” Long Tian felt overwhelmed hearing Ye Feng’s many requirements.
Ye Feng also finally shook off his previous gloom. “We must list out every detail regarding how to carry out this plan and the possible issues we might face. Try to simulate all possible scenarios to prepare thoroughly for its execution!”
