Chapter 66: The Arrival of the Venomous Snake

When still somewhat weak, Pearl got up from bed and searched around for a toothbrush to wash up with, while Long Tian brewed himself a cup of coffee and sipped it leisurely and contentedly.
“Long Tian? You’re not dead?” Pearl was shocked to see him; she had no idea he was here too.
“Oh, you’re still alive, aren’t you?” Long Tian raised his coffee cup.
The atmosphere in the living room immediately became tense. Pearl stared at Long Tian warily, worried he might attack suddenly. Meanwhile, Long Tian pretended to be indifferent, choosing to ignore her presence.
“That vampire baron wasn’t someone I brought here… I only found out about it later…” Pearl tried to explain, though she knew it wouldn’t make much difference.
“It’s all over. You won, I lost. That’s all there is to it.” Long Tian took a sip of his coffee. “Now it’s another war… Though I’m not quite sure what role you play now—comrade in arms or a spy sent by the enemy… For me right now, it makes no difference, because I’ll kill them all!”
Long Tian’s calm voice was filled with confidence. He indeed had the strength to say such things—after all, his power, surpassing that of the heads of various major families, ranked among the top in the entire world.
“I’m glad I didn’t have to watch the two of you fight…” Ye Feng came out of his room holding a cup of milky liquid.
“What is that?” Long Tian asked curiously.
“Imported milk without melamine added,” Ye Feng said before taking a big gulp.
“You’re still so old and still drink milk?” It seemed Pearl and Long Tian shared the same view on milk.
“What’s wrong with that? Milk is rich in calcium and various trace elements, which help with growing taller. Don’t you know that?” Ye Feng took another gulp.
“Brother Feng, do you think you can still grow taller?” Long Tian put down his coffee cup.
“Brother Long, I’m only 21! I’m still growing! I was 1.78 meters in school, and now I’m 1.81 meters! That shows it works!” Ye Feng finished his last sip and poured hot water into the cup to rinse out the residue.
“I’m 1.85 meters. Why do I feel like you’re about the same height as me now?” Long Tian stepped next to Ye Feng and compared their heights. “Is your 1.81 meters your bare height?”
“Uh… yes, my height without shoes!” Ye Feng nodded.

“Yes, my height without clothes.” Long Tian winked at Ye Feng. “Alright, I admit it—I’m only 1.83 meters tall naked, and with shoes it’s about 1.85 meters. That means you’re only two centimeters shorter than me. No more milk from now on!”
“Why?” Ye Feng expressed his confusion.
“Because I don’t want my younger brother to be taller than his brother…” Long Tian snatched Ye Feng’s cup. “Starting today, you’ll drink coffee instead!”
“That’s outright jealousy!” Ye Feng refused to compromise.
“Under normal circumstances, even if he doesn’t drink milk, he’ll keep growing taller!” Pearl couldn’t help but speak up. “It’s been about ten months since you two met. In those ten months, he’s grown three centimeters. That means another ten months might see him grow another three centimeters. In fact, as long as he has enough calcium, he’ll keep growing even without milk…”
“Alright, all your milk is mine now!” Long Tian glared at Pearl before handing Ye Feng the coffee and announcing his new decision.
“What a hustle…” Qing Lang came into the living room, still half-asleep.
“Alright, let’s get back to business!” Ye Feng changed the subject. “Pearl, you said last night that you were being pursued, and your organization wants to capture you alive. So tell me, how long will it take them to find us?”

“That means they’ll arrive today!” Long Tian narrowed his eyes slightly. “How strong are those people?”

“Zuo Qiu’s master!” Pearl immediately realized what was happening and turned to look at Ye Feng.
“Good thing I drank milk this morning. I guess breakfast can be skipped…” Ye Feng shrugged casually. “But what puzzles me is why he didn’t attack us last night and waited until now. Besides, that trick was already used on the plane—it has no effect on us!”
“Maybe he spent the whole night coming up with a useful plan!” Pearl said anxiously. “Don’t be careless!”
Seeing several venomous snakes slithering out of Xiao Liu’s room, Ye Feng pulled out his pistol and shot one of them in the head.
“Stop! Those snakes can’t be killed!” Pearl suddenly shouted at Ye Feng.
