Chapter 64: A Surprising Day

“Hello, this is CCAV Television, bringing you the evening news…” The female anchor, always dressed in a professional suit and wearing a professional smile, delivered all the official news of the day in her usual formal tone.
When Xiao Liu brought Long Tian and Ye Feng back to the place where they were temporarily staying, Qing Lang was watching the news.
“Brother Long, Mr. Ye, you’re back!” Qing Lang immediately stood up from the sofa when he saw them return.
“Mr. Ye?” Long Tian found this title strange.
“Do you remember last time they kidnapped me?” Ye Feng had nothing left to hide now. “I gave them a lesson… so…”
“I see…” Long Tian raised his eyebrows and then sat down on the sofa casually.
At that moment, a news report on the TV caught the attention of the others as well.
“At 6:07 p.m. today, an unusual incident occurred on a civilian flight arriving in City H from City S. A large number of venomous snakes entered the business class, but fortunately, no one was hurt. Now let’s hear from a witness on board…”
The camera switched to XS Airport in City H. Two girls were excitedly holding the microphone, describing what they had seen.
“Those two handsome guys were together. One looked around 25 years old, while the younger one was just over 20. The younger one was about 1.8 meters tall, and the older one was roughly 1.85 meters tall. They killed all the snakes in the cabin with their bare hands…”
“Did you see them kill so many snakes with their bare hands?” The reporter managed to snatch the microphone back from the girl and turned the camera toward the pile of snake corpses filling a large trash bin—there were at least hundreds of them.
“Yes! We saw it with our own eyes!” The girl grabbed the microphone again.
“With so many venomous snakes around, how did you manage to keep everyone safe?” The reporter asked the key question.
“That younger handsome guy used something to protect us. It was like a bubble that kept all the snakes outside. But it felt like glass when touched…” The girl clearly enjoyed the questions from the reporter and answered almost every one.
“Did anyone of you take pictures of their faces?” The reporter clearly wanted to dig deeper into this story.

“No, because at that time, everyone was terrified! There were snakes all over the cabin; no one thought to take pictures of them,” another girl said with some regret.
“Long Ge, is this the plane you took?” Qing Lang clearly seemed interested in this matter.
“That’s right,” Long Tian nodded.
“Did you know about this?” Qing Lang pressed on. “With so many snakes, those two must be experts.”
“We knew. We were in that cabin…” Long Tian picked up the hot tea on the coffee table and took a gentle sip.
“Then did you see who did it?” Qing Lang widened his eyes and looked at the two of them; even Xiao Liu Zi and Da Sha were somewhat eager to know.
“It was the two of us!” Long Tian winked at Qing Lang.
“I’m going to bed!” Ye Feng didn’t bother to explain and left the question to Long Tian.
Long Tian simply spread his hands and looked at the others, showing no intention of explaining.
“I need to rest too. You guys should rest as well. And if you see any snakes, remember to wake me and Ye Feng!” Long Tian yawned and then walked over to another room.
“Snakes? What do you mean?” Qing Lang didn’t understand what Long Tian meant.
“We killed that guy’s snakes. He might retaliate. Maybe he’s already followed us here. Anyway, it’s better if you’re careful!” Long Tian’s lazy voice came from the room. “Those things are poisonous. If bitten, it’ll be serious!”
“Oh, it seems there are quite a few surprises today!” Qing Lang turned off the TV with a frustrated expression. “You two check the windows. Call me if anything happens! I’m sleeping in the living room!”
Xiao Liu left nervously, pulling Da Sha with him.
Qing Lang lay on the sofa, muttering under his breath, “Long Ge is back, bringing Mr. Ye along, and we’ve also run into someone who plays with snakes… What day is it today? So many things happening at once?”

At that moment, the sound came again. Qing Lang listened carefully—it seemed to be a knock at the door. He looked up at the door but saw that Xiao Liu and Da Sha weren’t paying attention to him. He got up from the sofa, picked up the USP on the coffee table, and carefully headed toward the door.

Upon reaching the door, he peered through the peephole, but it seemed to be blocked by something. So he opened the door slightly and saw a very weak woman lying on the floor outside. With the faint moonlight, he could make out her face clearly.
“Pearl?” Qinglang couldn’t help but exclaim in shock when he saw her face.
“Ye Feng…” By this time, Pearl had lost consciousness, only emitting a weak voice.
“Brother Long! Mr. Ye! Pearl has come!” Qinglang immediately turned and shouted toward the two rooms, then opened the door, lifted Pearl up, and placed her on the sofa in the living room…
