Chapter 58: Sudden Changes

“We just borrowed a defibrillator from a nearby hospital, but its maximum output is only 400 joules. That’s enough for ordinary people, but for someone with our physique, it might not be sufficient.” Long Chen also put aside his tasks temporarily to check on Long Tian’s condition.
“Let’s try it first. If it doesn’t work, we’ll think of another solution!” Ye Feng nodded. “Let’s use the amount of energy that a normal person can withstand first!”
Taking a deep breath, Ye Feng applied conductive gel to the electrodes according to the instructions, then had Long Yue press the charging button. “200!”
“30 seconds!” Long Yue frowned slightly—Long Tian showed no reaction at all.
“300!” Ye Feng pressed the electrodes back onto Long Tian’s chest, but still, there was no response.
“Set it to the maximum—400!” Knowing it was likely due to insufficient energy, Ye Feng asked Long Yue to increase the charge.
“30 seconds…” Long Yue turned away, disappointed, to look at Long Tian, who remained completely motionless.
“I need something with more power…” Ye Feng put down the electrodes and turned to Long Yue and the others.
“That’s the maximum output of the defibrillator…” Long Chen shook his head, unsure what to do.
“I’ll try to find another machine.” Ye Feng intended to enter the Virtual Realm to search for a device that could deliver a high voltage discharge. “You guys keep watching him!”
Leaving the room where Long Tian was being treated in haste, Ye Feng found a secluded place and entered the Virtual Realm.
He entered the details of the device he wanted there. Several options appeared on the shelves. Ye Feng picked one up and examined it. “How come there are so many of these?”
“What are you looking for—a shocker?” Boy walked over curiously.
“The defibrillator’s power isn’t enough. I need one with more power!” Overwhelmed by the various shockers, Ye Feng didn’t know which one would be best for his treatment.
“If you want the one with the highest power for attacking, you can choose this one—nuclear-powered. Its maximum voltage can reach 100 million volts, and it can supply that voltage continuously for 12 hours.” Boy, understanding Ye Feng’s dilemma, picked up two models. “Of course, I personally recommend this one—it’s more environmentally friendly. In your terms, it’s solar-powered. Its maximum voltage is only 30 million volts, and it can maintain that voltage for three hours, though it’s a bit more expensive than the nuclear one.”

“Well, I’ll go with the solar one!” Ye Feng took the solar product from Boy’s hands. “At least I won’t need it later, and I can give it to someone else without worrying about it getting damaged. That nuclear one? If it gets damaged and causes a nuclear leak, that would be a big problem.”
After getting the item, Ye Feng clicked to purchase it. “Damn, it’s so expensive—30,000 domain values… Three million dollars just gone…”
“It doesn’t matter. Since you’re buying it to give as a gift, of course you should get something better. This is high-tech stuff…” Boy snickered aside.
“Uh, that nuclear one only costs 10,000 domain values…” Although Ye Feng said that, he still confirmed the purchase and left with a frustrated look.
When Ye Feng returned holding a dark, flashlight-like device, Long Yue and the others were all surprised.
“Did you find something suitable?” Long Yue couldn’t help but ask.
“This one…” Ye Feng held up the “flashlight” in his hand.
“Isn’t this just a flashlight?” Zhuge Ling’er stared at the device in Ye Feng’s hand and asked.
“It just looks like a flashlight…” Ye Feng didn’t know how to explain it. “Its maximum voltage can reach 30 million volts, enough to instantly turn an ordinary person into a pile of charcoal. Let’s give it a try!”
Everyone watched nervously as Ye Feng proceeded.
“The voltage of the machine was around 3,800 volts just now. I’ll try 5,000 volts first!” Ye Feng said, adjusting several buttons on the shock device until the number on the small screen reached 5,000. Then he pressed it against Long Tian’s chest.
Still no reaction…
“8,000…”
“12,000…”
“20,000…”
“50,000…”
“100,000…”
“200,000…”
…
“10,000,000…” Just as Long Yue and the others were about to give up and stop Ye Feng, the ECG suddenly spiked under the impact of 10 million volts. The different sounds coming from the device could be heard by everyone.
But it only spiked once. After Ye Feng removed the device, everything returned to normal.
Even Long Chen thought what he heard was an illusion. He looked at Long Yue expectantly, who also turned to her father to confirm whether what she heard was real.

“Sister Yue, I think I saw it just now—the ECG showed a pulse…” Zhuge Ling’er was the first to speak.
Everyone immediately felt a surge of hope.
“Ye Feng, go on. Brother showed a reaction just now!” Long Yue looked at Ye Feng with great anticipation, completely different from her nearly desperate expression earlier.
“Hmm, let’s try for a longer time this time. I’ll remove it once his heartbeat fully returns to normal…” Ye Feng nodded. “Ten million volts again!”
Ye Feng pressed the electroshock device against Long Tian’s chest once more, and the ECG finally started beating again.
The “beep” sound filled the air, filling everyone present with joy.
“Let me remove it and see if it’s back to normal!” Ye Feng turned to Long Chen and the others.
Long Chen nodded. Long Tian’s heartbeat had been normal for nearly a minute, so he thought removing the device now should be fine.
“The electroshock device seems to be stuck…” Ye Feng suddenly turned with a strange expression. “The voltage is rising automatically…”
Ye Feng didn’t know what was happening. He could only watch as the voltage on the small screen climbed to 12,000,000, 15,000,000, 20,000,000… until it reached the device’s maximum voltage of 30,000,000…
“What’s going on?” Long Yue asked anxiously, looking at Ye Feng.
“I don’t know. It seems his body is absorbing the electricity automatically. I can’t remove it, and the voltage has already reached its maximum…” Ye Feng was also at a loss.
Long Chen leaped up and went to Ye Feng’s side. “Let me do it. Step aside for now…”
Ye Feng and the others stepped back outside the room. Long Chen grabbed the electroshock device, which was tightly stuck to Long Tian’s body, and exerted force suddenly. A blue arc of electricity flashed, sending Long Chen flying backward and creating a large crack in the wall. Long Chen got up awkwardly, ready to try again, but was stopped by Ye Feng.
“Uncle! Don’t interrupt him. It seems all the electricity is being absorbed by his body…” Ye Feng stopped Long Chen. “Look at his dantian…”
Long Chen and the others then looked at Long Tian’s dantian. A faint red glow formed a strange spiral, as if the electricity was being absorbed into it.
“Is his dantian absorbing electricity?” Long Chen looked puzzled.

“That’s right. There are no abnormalities in his body at all. I think as long as his dantian absorbs enough energy, it should stop this behavior on its own. Besides, the battery in that shocker can only last for three hours. Let’s wait a while!” Ye Feng nodded.
