Chapter 567: Guide Zhu Hong
The assessment given by Berent ended quickly, to the surprise of the three of them. The strength shown by Ye Feng and his group far exceeded his expectations. Of course, he didn’t know that they had actually held back significantly.
“Welcome to becoming members of the rulers of the Fifth Holy Land!” Berent sighed inwardly. This time, he could say he had made a huge profit. The Fifth Holy Land might soon become the First Holy Land—something they had never even dared to imagine before. Most powerful beings had to reach the Nebula level before they could transform laws into divine powers. Even those with great talent usually had to reach the later stages of the Star level before they could comprehend such powers. Once laws were transformed into divine powers, their strength would increase by at least several times.
“Are there any further procedures?” Ye Feng was eager to learn more about the Main Plane. From Berent’s words, it seemed his group was already considered one of the rulers, but they hadn’t undergone any loyalty tests yet.
“No need. I’ve already sent your information to the Lord Ruler and the other rulers,” Berent said, handing Ye Feng three glass bead-like objects. “These contain the information of the rulers and controllers in each holy land. Of course, your information isn’t included, as this was made after the last Holy Land ranking battle. We only have one left per person here, so there are only three. You can pass them around among yourselves.”
“Actually, the fewer people who know about you, the better. That way, you can surprise the other holy lands during the ranking battles,” said the tall, thin controller beside Berent. His name was Kechi, and his strength was slightly weaker than Berent’s.
“That’s good,” Ye Feng nodded. “We don’t plan to stay in the Holy World for too long. We agreed to your invitation to prepare for the Main Plane and gather more information about it.”
“The Main Plane isn’t easy to navigate. Those at the Starlight level are the lowest existence there. Even those at the Star level have a low status. Only those who reach the Nebula level can enjoy the treatment of ordinary residents. My advice is not to rush to ascend,” Berent said, knowing a bit about the Main Plane. Hearing that Ye Feng and the others wanted to go there, he couldn’t help but advise them against it.
“Pressure creates motivation. Our strength should grow much faster once we get there,” Ye Feng offered his opinion.
“That’s true,” Berent nodded with a smile. “If you want more information about the main plane, go to Merlin’s Library inside the Fifth Holy City. In terms of the abundance of resources, our Fifth Holy City ranks second only to the Seventh Holy City, even ahead of the First Holy City. That’s because the Lord Sovereign is a powerful being who loves reading. Of course, he’s still a bit inferior compared to the Lord Sovereign of the Seventh Holy City, who is equally fond of books.”
“The book collection is even richer than that of the First Holy City?” Ye Feng was secretly glad he seemed to have come to the right place.
“Although the First Holy City is stronger overall than the other holy cities, it’s not superior in every aspect. For example, in terms of book collections, delicious food, and wealth…” Berent added.
“I see!” Ye Feng suddenly understood. He had originally thought that since it was called the First Holy City, it should be superior in every way, but it turned out otherwise.
“How about this? We can’t take you to the holy city right now, because once we arrive, every move we make will attract the attention of spies from other holy cities, revealing your presence,” Berent suggested. “But I have a young disciple in a nearby city. He’s a disciple my own disciple took in recently, and his cultivation level is only at the Saint Emperor stage. I’ll have him take you to the holy city, so it won’t draw the attention of those spies.”
“Then thank you very much!” Ye Feng naturally wanted to get to the holy city as soon as possible to see those resources.
“Wait a moment. I’ll contact his master and ask him to come over right away.” Berent took out a communicator. After a while, he looked up and said, “He’ll be here in half a quarter of an hour. Let’s wait a little longer.”
Half a quarter of an hour later, a chubby boy with a simple appearance suddenly teleported over. He glanced at everyone before his gaze settled on Berent. He rushed over quickly, “Elder Master!”
“This is my young disciple, Zhu Hong,” Berent introduced.
Zhu Hong secretly glanced around. Apart from his elder master, he didn’t recognize anyone else. In fact, he had only met this elder master once, shortly after becoming his disciple, when his own master took him there. Naturally, he didn’t know the other two rulers along with Berent.
“This is Mr. Blade, Mr. Dragon Sky…” Berent introduced them one by one.
“Hello, respected elders…” Zhu Hong felt a bit nervous. He could vaguely sense that those whom his elder master called “masters” must be no less powerful than his own elder master.
“I’m assigning you a task,” Berent said seriously after introducing everyone.
Seeing Berent’s serious expression, Zhu Hong’s forehead began to sweat. He was afraid that this master, whom he had only met once, would ask him to do something he couldn’t accomplish. But he had no choice but to force a smile and nod repeatedly.
“Take these eight gentlemen and their friends to the Holy City and arrange everything for them. If they give you any orders, you must be ready to respond at any time.” Berent’s voice carried an unyielding authority. Zhu Hong nodded repeatedly in agreement, feeling a huge weight lift from his heart. He had thought he would be asked to do something difficult, but it turned out to be simply acting as a guide. Yet, seeing the seriousness on the face of this master, who was supposed to be a ruler, he couldn’t help but wonder who these eight people really were.
Soon, a familiar voice reached his ears—it was Berent sending him a message. “Kid, I know you’re wondering who these eight people are. Let me tell you the truth: they are all super strong warriors who have just passed the ruler’s assessment…”
Hearing this, Zhu Hong almost cried out. He quickly covered his mouth and glanced around, making sure no one had noticed him. Eight warriors who had surpassed the Holy Realm were extremely rare in the Holy Land, yet here were eight such warriors right before his eyes.
The voice continued, “Be a good guide on this journey. This might be your chance. Once you arrive in the Holy City, try to stay with them—it will be beneficial for you.”
Zhu Hong silently kept these words in mind.
“You go to the Holy City first. We also have some other things to attend to. We might not return for a few days. We can meet again privately then,” Berent said with a smile. “Zhu Hong, don’t forget what I said.”
“I won’t forget the master’s teachings,” the chubby boy replied with respect, bowing deeply.
“We’re leaving now…” As Berent and the others finished speaking, their figures disappeared quickly.
“We should go too,” Ye Feng said, looking at Zhu Hong. “Which direction is the Holy City?”
“It’s in the east. If we take a spaceship, it will take about two months to get there…”
Before Zhu Hong could finish speaking, Ye Feng placed a hand on his shoulder and winked at Long Tian and the others. “Let’s go!”
