Chapter 327: Is It Her?

“Are you sure you have a way to find the killer?” The Second Elder’s expression was clearly full of doubt.
“Of course it’s true!” Ye Feng narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked at the Second Elder. “Otherwise, why would I call you here for no reason?”
“Dao Feng, don’t waste time either,” the Third Elder said calmly. “Since you claim to have a way to find the killer, show us sooner!”
Seeing that the Third Elder had spoken like that, Ye Feng didn’t bother to argue further. He took out the Time Regression Mirror. “This device is called the Time Regression Mirror. It can detect everything that happened in the First Elder’s room over the past few days. We can use it to see who took those two Gu King corpses.”
The Second and Third Elders looked visibly surprised, while Wu Tian seemed quite eager.
Ye Feng held up the transparent sphere in his hand. “Let’s do a test first! Let’s replay everything that happened in this room today. Everyone can compare it to see if it really happened, to verify its accuracy.”
The transparent sphere in Ye Feng’s hand slowly floated into the air. A beam of transparent light emitted from its surface, forming a clear three-dimensional image in the air.
“This image…” Wu Tian pointed at the three-dimensional image in the air in astonishment.
“That’s right. It’s indeed an image of the First Elder’s room!” Wu Kuang nodded.
“Show everything that’s happened from this morning until now!” Ye Feng gave an order. It had a voice control function, a basic feature of devices produced on the planet Taikelokeji. In fact, intelligent machines capable of recognizing voices already existed on Earth, so for Taikelokeji, where technology was tens of thousands of times more advanced, this wasn’t a problem at all.
As the transparent sphere rotated, people began to see the first person, then the second person… entering the empty room of the First Elder in the image.
It didn’t take long before everyone’s attention was fixed on the screen in the air. Everything happening on it seemed so familiar to them.
“That’s me bringing dinner to Dad…” Wu Tian pointed excitedly at the image in the sky and smiled at Ye Feng.
Everyone understood what happened next. They realized that what Ye Feng said was true—the seemingly ordinary transparent sphere indeed had the ability to store past images.
“There really is such a thing!” The Third Elder looked utterly astonished.

“It seems that the person who stole the bodies of the Gu Kings can no longer hide,” said the Second Elder with a smile.
“Now, I’ll set the time to the day when the First Elder wakes up. All of us here will watch everything that happens during that time.” Ye Feng didn’t notice any unusual expressions on their faces. No one raised any objections either.
“The time: six days ago,” Ye Feng gave the new instruction.
The images on the three-dimensional screen began to change. On the screen, the First Elder was lying weakly on a hospital bed, while Ye Feng, Wu Kuang, and Wu Tian were all inside the house…
As time passed, the First Elder suddenly woke up and went mad. Wu Kuang, Ye Feng, and the others chased after him…
A few more minutes passed on the screen, and a small green insect sneaked into the house through a crack in the door…
“A Gu worm?” Wu Kuang and the others frowned. Although they still didn’t know who the killer was, the appearance of the Gu worm clearly indicated that it must be someone from the Black Witch clan.
Everyone watched as the Gu worm slowly transformed into the appearance of the Third Elder after entering the room, and their gazes immediately turned toward the Third Elder.
But the Third Elder’s expression was rather strange. “How is that possible?”
Ye Feng didn’t say much and waited for the scene to continue. Wu Kuang also stayed silent. He simply glanced at the Third Elder briefly before focusing his attention back on the three-dimensional projection.
On the projection, the Third Elder put the three boxes on the coffee table into his storage ring—those were the boxes containing the bodies of the three Gu Kings. After that, he scanned the surroundings, took out a long sword, stabbed at a point under the restriction, and then slowly transformed into a green worm, sneaking out through the door.
After everything that happened that day was fully displayed on the three-dimensional screen, Ye Feng put away the transparent ball and looked at the Third Elder. “Third Elder, do you need to explain?”
“That wasn’t me. Someone else took on my appearance,” the Third Elder refused to admit it at all.
“What about evidence?” Ye Feng had expected this. After all, it wasn’t impossible for someone to take on the Third Elder’s appearance; it might be an attempt to frame him.
The Third Elder fell silent. “Evidence? I don’t have any…”

“If there’s no evidence, how can you make me believe you?” Ye Feng also appeared somewhat helpless. “This machine wasn’t designed to distinguish truth from falsehood from the start. It can only reconstruct what happened here; it has no ability to determine whether the other party has changed their appearance.”
“Someone, take Third Elder as a suspect and lock her up. She must not leave her cell until we find out the real truth!” Second Elder didn’t give Third Elder any chance to explain.
“It really wasn’t me!” Third Elder pleaded with Ye Feng, her face full of sorrow. “You must help me find out who the real murderer is!”
“If it really wasn’t you, we’ll give you a satisfactory answer,” Ye Feng nodded. He too was somewhat puzzled. “Who exactly stole the bodies of the Gu Kings? Is Third Elder being framed, or is she the murderer?”
“Second Elder, this doesn’t seem right,” Wu Kuang frowned slightly.
“What’s wrong with it? As far as it goes, she’s the biggest suspect,” Second Elder insisted on his view.
“We’re only suspecting her of stealing a few of the Gu Kings’ bodies for now,” Ye Feng explained. “We haven’t reached a conclusion yet. It’s not appropriate to lock her up so early!”
“What if we don’t lock her up and she flees out of fear?” Second Elder frowned tightly.
There was some truth to Second Elder’s words. Seeing his determination, Ye Feng couldn’t say much more. He helplessly shook his head at Third Elder and let her be taken away.
“Don’t worry. I’ve worked with Third Elder for many years. If it really wasn’t her, I’ll clear her name sooner or later,” Second Elder added after seeing Ye Feng and Wu Kuang’s grim expressions.
