Chapter 17: Ye Feng vs. Bullman
“Who are you?” Lao Tie looked at the man who suddenly appeared with a serious expression. He had just been about to kill Bullman when this man intervened.
“The one who’ll kill you!” Although the man wasn’t tall, his icy gaze, like that of a falcon, was quite intimidating.
“Oh, then it depends on whether you have the ability to do it…” Lao Tie glanced at Bullman, who was hiding behind the man, and clenched his fists, feeling uneasy. “I wonder if Ye Feng is okay… I wanted to finish this quickly, but this kid managed to escape all the way here. He must have had help… It seems this will turn into a protracted battle…”
“Bullman, I’m here. Go check if things over there are settled. I’ve also heard from the boss about that kid; he seems a bit strange. Make sure nothing goes wrong…” The man turned to Bullman, who was half a head taller than him.
“Sure, Mr. Zuo. It’s good that the boss called and told me you were on your way. That’s why I ran in your direction. Otherwise, I would’ve been killed by that old guy already,” Bullman replied respectfully. “You have to avenge me!”
“Don’t worry. I won’t let him leave alive… This is a task given to me by the boss—to cut off Long Tian’s right hand…” The man didn’t even turn his head, as if talking to himself, but his words reached Lao Tie’s ears clearly.
“You must be Zuo Qiu, one of Pearl’s men?” As soon as Lao Tie heard the surname Zuo, he immediately figured out who the man was.
“That’s right, it’s me!” Zuo Qiu didn’t deny his identity.
“From your tone, it seems you’re quite confident in killing me?” Lao Tie shook his head and laughed.
“No!” Zuo Qiu shook his head.
Realizing he had nothing to do here, Bullman sneaked around, trying to bypass Lao Tie and return to Ye Feng’s school. Lao Tie moved slightly and appeared in front of Bullman, while Zuo Qiu also moved almost at the same time, blocking between Bullman and Lao Tie.
“Go!” Zuo Qiu blocked Lao Tie’s attack with one palm and pushed out with the other, sending Bullman, who weighed nearly 200 pounds, flying aside, breaking through Lao Tie’s blockade.
Bullman, who almost fell, managed to steady himself and glanced back at the two men locked in combat before rushing away in a hurry.
“That guy probably doesn’t know where I am. He’s chasing in this direction, likely heading toward the underground parking lot,” Ye Feng analyzed. “But where on earth has Uncle Tie gone? Based on the detector readings, with Uncle Tie’s strength, he definitely wouldn’t lose to him…”
Thinking of this, Ye Feng changed the detection mode from precise one-kilometer scanning to a five-kilometer combat-level scan. As soon as he made the switch, the screen in front of him was filled with numerous figures—many times denser than before. Ye Feng clearly saw two more white dots on the map, located about two kilometers away from him. He tentatively clicked on one of them, only to see a message pop up: Exact information about the target cannot be obtained at this distance.
“There’s no way to check. Although I don’t know what happened, Uncle Tie should still be alive. One of those two white dots must be him. Could the other be a helper brought by that tall guy?”
Ye Feng gave up on trying to investigate those two people’s status, as he was facing an even greater threat at the moment—the tall guy was far stronger than him.
“I used some domain energy to buy a gun and clothes earlier. I still have 2,510 points left. To increase my chances of fighting him, I need to strengthen my body again.” Ye Feng checked his remaining domain energy. “If I strengthen my strength twice, the value can reach 50, and defense will increase slightly, requiring 1,920 points. The remaining 590 points can’t be used to enhance speed. But my speed and mental strength are already stronger than his, so further enhancement won’t give me an absolute advantage. Only by strengthening my strength to match his can I increase my chances of winning.”
After analyzing everything, Ye Feng bought two more Power Source Pills. After swallowing them quickly, he eagerly checked the changes in his attribute values in the virtual realm.
Strength: 50.8
Speed: 40.5
Mental Strength: 41.2
“As expected, that 0.8 bonus is still there,” Ye Feng said happily. He opened the Energy Detector again:
Host:
Total Combat Value: 172.5
Strength: 50.8
Speed: 40.5
Mental Strength: 41.2
Weapon Bonus: 40
Enemy:
Total Combat Value: 157
Strength: 48
Speed: 37
Mental Strength: 29
Unknown Energy: 43
Host’s Chances of Victory: 53%, Kill Rate: 13%
“The win rate has risen to 53%, and the death rate has even turned into a kill rate. I completely forgot I still had two USP pistols!” Ye Feng shook his head helplessly. “If that’s the case, I need to hurry up and take out that guy, then see what’s going on with Uncle Tie.”
At that moment, Ye Feng also saw through the detector that the tall man paused for a while near the two corpses before entering the parking lot.
“The parking lot is indeed a good place—perfect for taking you out as well!” A cold glint flashed in Ye Feng’s eyes as he switched back to his previous outfit.
Bull searched the parking lot and found no trace of Ye Feng at all. Frowning, he thought, “I never expected this kid to play the innocent while actually killing my men. His marksmanship is so precise—only a professional assassin could do that. Every bullet hit right between the eyebrows, without any deviation… But that corpse seems to have a fractured cervical spine, and the angle of the fracture is strange, as if it was caused by brute force… Could it also be done by that kid?”
Just as Bull was pondering this, he suddenly sensed a threat. Then he heard a muffled sound—he was very familiar with it; it was the sound of bullets fired from a pistol equipped with a silencer. In a busy city, such a sound would be impossible to distinguish, but in the quiet night, in this empty underground parking lot, it was easy for him to hear.
Thanks to his excellent physical condition and combat awareness, Bull dodged two bullets and stabilized himself slightly. He looked up at the person who had attacked him.
“So it really is you!” Bull’s gaze was icy. Despite being heavily covered, Ye Feng was recognized by Bull at a glance.
“You’re quite skilled. Let’s see how long you can dodge!” Although Ye Feng hadn’t expected to kill his opponent so easily, the latter’s performance still surprised him greatly. His proficient movements and outstanding combat awareness truly made Ye Feng feel envy and resentment…
“I never thought you could hide so well. No wonder Brother Long gets along so well with you. So you’re a professional assassin.” Bull stared coldly at Ye Feng. “But I’m afraid I’ll disappoint you today. That thing in your hand isn’t very useful against me.”
As soon as Bull finished speaking, he charged toward Ye Feng.
Ye Feng also calmly pulled the trigger, using both hands. Shell casings flew out continuously, hitting the ground with crisp sounds that were rather pleasant to hear. The pinging sound from the silencer wasn’t so grating after all.
What puzzled Ye Feng was that no matter how he aimed or fired intensively, the Bull always managed to dodge his shots. With his strange movements, he could evade bullet attacks at critical moments every time.
When the last shell casing hit the ground, Ye Feng retracted his pistols and glared coldly at the Bull across from him.
“Felt great shooting those pistols, right?” The Bull smiled lewdly as he stepped toward Ye Feng one by one. “Since you’ve run out of bullets, it’s my turn. Don’t worry, I’ll be gentle…”
