Chapter 16: First Killing

Just as Ye Feng was about to take action, his phone suddenly rang. He picked it up and saw it was aunknown number. After hesitating for a moment, he pressed the answer button.
“Xiaofeng, it’s Uncle Tie. I got your number from Brother Long just now. Listen, your situation is very dangerous. Four people with silenced pistols have come for you—they might attack you. You must leave your dormitory as soon as possible. It’s best if you get others to leave too and mix in with other dormitories. The longer you can delay things, the better. Leave the rest to me.”
“Uncle Tie, thank you! I already know about this. Help me hold off that tall guy while I deal with the others myself,” Ye Feng said, feeling much more confident after hearing the call.
“Xiaofeng, you…” Uncle Tie didn’t expect Ye Feng to say such things.
“Trust me, I can handle it!” Ye Feng said firmly.
“Anyway, be careful. They have guns. I’ll find a way to deal with that tall guy,” Uncle Tie replied helplessly, as he was alone and couldn’t split his attention. Moreover, with four armed men, a head-on confrontation would only be suicide.
After hanging up, Ye Feng changed into two silenced USP pistols and new clothes in the virtual realm. Since the dormitory supervisor in charge of access wasn’t around, Ye Feng walked out of the dormitory building confidently, wearing those glasses-like detectors, and pretended to be exercising by jogging.
A few people approaching the dormitory building saw Ye Feng and immediately followed him nonchalantly. From the start, Ye Feng kept his distance at about 100 meters. He knew that the effective range of ordinary pistols was only 50 meters. At 100 meters, the bullets would lose accuracy and their lethality would drop significantly. Besides, with his skills, pistol bullets couldn’t cause much harm from that distance.
“He came out on his own, saving us a lot of trouble,” the Bull said with a fierce smile.
Yeeng jogged straight toward the entrance of the underground parking lot in the complex building.
“That’s the parking lot… Maybe Brother Long’s men gave them a tip, planning to take him there,” the Bull said upon seeing Ye Feng’s reaction. He immediately shouted to the others, “Hurry up and chase after him! I’ll enter from another entrance—don’t let him get away.”

There were monitors in the parking lot. Ye Feng had put on a long fake hairpiece at the entrance, covered his mouth and nose with a long scarf, and turned the detector into sunglasses that covered most of his face. Then he hid quietly behind a car, patiently waiting for the target to appear.

He thought it would be too shocking to take care of those people in the dormitory building, and it could easily lead to accidental injuries. The police would surely narrow down the suspects to the students in the dormitory building. So he chose a place with coverings and relatively open space.

When the first person poked his head out, Ye Feng immediately fired. The bullet hit the wall, splintering some pieces, but missed the target. That head quickly retracted and didn’t show up again for a long time.

“They’re reacting much faster now, but unfortunately, the accuracy…” Ye Feng joked to himself helplessly. “But with my current physical condition and mental strength, I should be able to get used to it quickly.”

Ye Feng waited patiently. At the entrance of the parking lot, a few people were arguing in low voices.

“How does he have a gun?” the person who had poked his head out earlier stared at the other three with wide eyes.

“That sound wasn’t a gunshot. You must have heard it wrong,” someone next to him pushed him.

“Nonsense! He has a silencer. How could there be a gunshot? That sound was the bullet hitting the wall,” the man pushed away the hand holding him.

“Hey, are you too nervous? He’s just an ordinary student. Where would he get a gun from?” another person said with disbelief.

“Then go ahead by yourself!” the person in front stepped back. “We’ll follow behind.”

Every move of those people was clearly seen by the energy detector.

After lingering for a while, someone finally stepped forward. This time, Ye Feng didn’t fire immediately but aimed the gun at the spot where the head had appeared earlier.

The man looked around but saw nothing unusual. He immediately turned around and whispered to the people behind him, “That kid escaped…”

At that moment, seeing that it seemed safe, the others also stepped out.

When the fourth person poked his head out, Ye Feng shifted his target to that head and pulled the trigger.

The people in the parking lot heard a strange sound and saw the fourth person’s head explode as he fell to the ground.

Amid the stunned silence of the remaining three, three more shots hit the other two. The last one tried to flee but tripped over a corpse at his feet, causing Ye Feng’s otherwise certain shot to miss. He immediately scrambled out of the parking lot entrance.

“No survivors allowed. If the police find this guy, my act of killing these people will be exposed!” Ye Feng narrowed his eyes and chased after him from the garage.

In just a few strides, he caught up with the man fleeing desperately. He grabbed the man’s hair from behind and pulled hard downward, hearing the sound of a broken neck as the man collapsed to the ground.
