Chapter 133: The Day of Judgment
Yuwen Zhuo and the two others, whose powers had been suppressed, were locked up in a temporary warehouse discovered by Ye Feng and the others. They were still fed three meals a day.
The three of them cooperated fully, avoiding any attempts to escape and staying obediently in the warehouse, waiting for the day of judgment to arrive.
“It’s the third day today, right?” Yuwen Zhuo said suddenly as he paced slowly inside the warehouse, addressing Nikola and Pei Hong.
“Yes, it’s the third day. Three days is enough time to gather all the cultivators at the Yuan Ying stage in City H,” Pei Hong nodded. “Once all of them arrive today, our trial will begin.”
Nikola continued to stare blankly at the ground, saying nothing.
Yuwen Zhuo glanced at him disdainfully before turning to Pei Hong. “Pei Hong, I really didn’t expect you to be easily persuaded by that little kid Ye Feng! I don’t know if it’s because I underestimated Ye Feng or overestimated you!”
“Yuwen Zhuo, stop being foolish. Mistakes are mistakes!” Pei Hong shook his head with a bitter smile. “The three of us were all idiots blinded by our own desires! If we hadn’t tried such tricks and instead negotiated directly with Ye Feng to buy mid-grade spirit crystals, maybe we would have left Earth by now!”
“Did Ye Feng promise you he could solve your impending doom?” Yuwen Zhuo asked coldly, staring at Pei Hong. “Was it pills to boost your power, or spirit crystals to let you leave Earth?”
Pei Hong looked up at Yuwen Zhuo but chose to remain silent on the question.
“Don’t worry. His promises mean nothing to you!” A vicious smile appeared on Yuwen Zhuo’s face.
“What did you say?” Pei Hong frowned upon hearing Yuwen Zhuo’s words, trying to get some clarity.
Yuwen Zhuo glared at him and said nothing more.
Soon, the door of the warehouse opened. Ye Feng and Long Tian stood at the entrance, lighting up the previously dark space.
“It seems today is indeed the day of judgment!” Yuwen Zhuo showed no fear at all. “Does that mean all the cultivators at the Yuan Ying stage from around the world have gathered here?”
“After all, this involves the trial of three cultivators at the Yuan Ying stage—a matter of great importance. All of them must participate in the voting!” Long Tian said seriously.
Ye Feng stepped forward and looked at Yuwen Zhuo calmly. “Do you think it’s worth it?”
Yuwen Zhuo finally stopped smiling and met Ye Feng’s gaze. After a long pause, he chose to back down, his lips lifting slightly again. “Maybe…”
Ye Feng took a deep breath, a hint of regret flashing in his eyes. He turned his head to glance at Long Tian. “I’ve finished asking. Let’s go!”
The five of them drove to a valley outside the suburbs. Inside the valley, including Wudao, Kongxu, and Dracula, eleven people were already waiting.
Ye Feng noticed that three of them were men and two were women he had seen before in Hamilton, while the other two men and one woman were unfamiliar.
“It seems everyone is here!” Yuwen Zhuo scanned them one by one. Clearly, most of them were old acquaintances of his.
Wudao and the others looked at the three whose cultivation had been restricted with complex expressions.
“Yuwen Zhuo, explain everything in front of everyone!” Taoist Priest Kongxu spoke first. “Then, the thirteen of us, including Long Tian and Ye Feng, will vote to decide what to do with you!”
“I have nothing to say,” Yuwen Zhuo shrugged. “What you need to know, you already know! Why listen to me repeat the story? Just give the verdict directly!”
His words showed no sign of remorse at all, causing Kongxu and the others to frown.
Glancing at Nikola, who still seemed dazed, Kongxu turned his gaze to Pei Hong. “Well then, Pei Hong, you go ahead! Tell everyone everything from start to finish!”
Pei Hong nodded. “A few months ago, Yuwen Zhuo suddenly approached me and told me that someone might have a way to leave Earth! He asked if I wanted to cooperate with him; once it was done, we could leave Earth together. Knowing my death was near, I agreed to him.”
“Who is that person?” A blond beauty among them was curious about this.
“It’s Ye Feng!” Pei Hong glanced at Ye Feng, and the others present also studied him thoughtfully.
“Over the past few months, we’ve been keeping an eye on Ye Feng, and the results truly surprised me and Yuwen Zhuo. Too many things happened to him that we couldn’t understand. We don’t know what secrets he has. Even when Yuwen Zhuo tried to get in touch with him directly, he didn’t find anything unusual.”
“Later, Ye Feng had a conflict with Nikola, and Long Tian severely injured Nikola. Yuwen Zhuo approached Nikola, offering to help him improve his strength to seek revenge and assist him in leaving Earth as incentives to get Nikola to join him! He also gave Nikola a healing pill that cured injuries that would have taken at least ten days to heal and even increased his cultivation level.”
“After that, Yuwen Zhuo learned that Ye Feng was going to the Ghost Market, so he wanted to set a trap to gain Ye Feng’s trust. So, he and I went to Bermuda and captured that magical beast in the Yuan Ying stage. He planned to carry out a massacre and blame it on Ye Feng. Once Ye Feng was wanted by the entire cultivation community, he would step in to gain Ye Feng’s trust.”
“Then why did you take away all the items for sale?” Ye Feng couldn’t help but ask.
“Yuwen Zhuo said that you might have gotten some information by going to the Ghost Market, where there could be things you need. Maybe we could find something useful there, and it could also cover up our real motive for the massacre and confuse things,” Pei Hong said, glancing at Yuwen Zhuo. “I didn’t pay much attention to such things at the time. After Ye Feng and I released the magical beast from its cage, I left the scene. Nikola, however, took Yuwen Zhuo’s words to heart. After the magical beast devastated everyone, he cleaned up the scene and meticulously gathered all the items. When he returned, he found that there was basically nothing useful.”
“Actually, Yuwen Zhuo had been following the two of you the whole time. It wasn’t until you entered the valley that he killed Hu Die! And he took those thousand-year lotus seeds.”
“Later, you kept investigating this matter, but we didn’t know what clues you had. You even discovered that one of the murderers was a vampire count, so you suspected Dracula and Nikola. After hearing this news, Nikola chose to disappear to avoid excessive contact with you and exposing himself. Under Yuwen Zhuo’s instructions, Nikola followed Ye Feng and killed Dracula’s butler and servants, trying to stir up conflict between Dracula and Ye Feng and disrupt your investigation so as to buy us more time to cover up the clues we had left behind.”
“Later on, just a few days ago, you finally figured out our motives and set a trap. I fell for your scheme and decided to tell you the truth. You already know what happened after that!” Pei Hong finally recounted the entire sequence of events.
“Yuwen Zhuo, as the mastermind behind this whole affair, do you have anything to defend yourself with?” Wudao gave Yuwen Zhuo another chance to explain himself.
At that moment, a strange smile appeared on Yuwen Zhuo’s face, and a faint white glow gathered in his dantian. “You want to leave Earth? Since I have no chance to leave, you should stay and accompany me in death!”
“Bad! He’s about to explode his Yuan Ying!” Ye Feng was the first to realize it…
