Chapter 119: Dracula
When Ye Feng appeared before Nikola again, Nikola didn’t seem surprised at all. He was lying half on his bed, watching a talk show.
“You seem to be in pretty good shape!” Ye Feng stood at the door of Nikola’s room, hands in his pants pockets.
“My internal organs are in terrible condition. It will take at least ten to fifteen days to fully recover, and over twenty days to return to my peak condition. Have you changed your mind and decided to kill me now?” Nikola put down the remote control and turned his head toward Ye Feng with some effort.
“That’s not the case. I just came to see how you’re recovering. I was worried you might die!” Ye Feng acted as if chatting with an old friend, casually entering the room, pulling up a chair by the bed, and sitting down to look at Nikola, who was lying half on the bed.
The bruises on his face had healed quickly, but his internal injuries made him look pale.
“There’s no need to worry. Vampires aren’t that fragile. If we were as weak as humans, our race would have been wiped out countless times! Still, thanks for your concern. Come on, since you’re not here to kill me, you must have another purpose. There’s no need to beat around the bush! Our relationship isn’t close enough for you to visit me in my sickbed. I don’t like you, and you don’t like me—that’s a fact!” Nikola could easily guess that Ye Feng wouldn’t have come to see him for no reason.
“I want to know how many vampire counts are left on Earth. What are their names? Where do they live?” Ye Feng posed three questions in a row.
“That’s considered private information of my kind. Why should I tell you such things? It’s obvious you’re looking for trouble with other vampires!” Nikola could also guess that Ye Feng’s questions surely held ulterior motives.
“I have no prejudice against vampires. It’s your actions that have made me prejudice you. It has nothing to do with your kind. I just want to confirm something with that guy. So, don’t worry—I won’t kill every vampire I see.” Ye Feng adopted a serious expression and stared at Nikola.
“What if I don’t tell you? What can you do? Kill me? Or kidnap me—someone who’s now powerless—and torture me until you get the answers you want?” Nikola wore a sarcastic smile. “Why do you think I’d tell you such things? They’re my kind, while you’re my enemy! Don’t forget, though I’m in this state not directly because of you, it’s still related to you.”
“Well, see you later!” Ye Feng stared at Nikola for a while before slowly rising from his chair and heading toward the door.
“Hey!” Nikola called after him as Ye Feng reached the door. “That guy’s name is Dracula, and his castle is in London!”
“Dracula?” Ye Feng narrowed his eyes slightly and turned around. “He seems to be a famous figure. Why tell me this suddenly?”
“Any vampire knows that there are only two vampire counts on Earth now—me and him.” Nikola’s expression showed frustration. “It’s better for me to tell you than for someone else to do it.”
“Actually, I don’t like that guy either. Both of us are counts, but why is Dracula’s name known all over the world while mine is never mentioned in any publications?” Nikola seemed indignant. “Everyone knows Count Dracula, but my name has never appeared in any media. It would be better if you killed him—then I’d be the only count on Earth! Haha…”
“What exactly do you want from him?” Nikola shouted as Ye Feng reached the door.
“There’s no need to tell you!” Ye Feng ignored the frenzied Nikola, shook his head, and left.
Not long after leaving Nikola’s castle, Ye Feng hailed a taxi to the airport and also called Long Tian.
“I just talked to Nikola. There’s another count in London. See if you can figure out his exact location. I’m heading to London right now. If you find him, have Kelly send me a message through the hunter account—I’ll be able to see it as soon as I get off the plane!”
As soon as Ye Feng finished speaking, Long Tian’s surprised voice came through the phone. “I thought that guy wouldn’t reveal such things. I didn’t expect you to be so resourceful.”
“He confessed it himself. We can discuss the details when I get back. I’m hanging up now!” Ye Feng said before hanging up.
Upon arriving at the airport, Ye Feng’s journey went smoothly, and he caught a flight to London just in time.
After several hours of travel and a flight change, Ye Feng finally arrived in London. He found a hotel not far from the airport. After connecting his laptop to the internet, he was able to access the Hunter’s network and log into their website. There, he saw Kelly’s message—a map of London with the location of the ancient castle clearly marked, in a remote area on the outskirts. Ye Feng memorized the route from the map and quickly left the hotel. It was a medieval castle, nestled by mountains and waters, but unlike ordinary scenic spots. After some inquiries, Ye Feng learned that the castle had been purchased. The man who bought it was rarely seen by the villagers nearby; they only knew he was wealthy. To everyone’s surprise, Ye Feng walked straight to the castle’s main entrance and pressed a doorbell decorated in a rustic style. A middle-aged man opened the door, dressed in somewhat vintage clothing with a small mustache on his upper lip. He also possessed the strength of the Golden Core stage, and he was clearly surprised to see Ye Feng. “Hello, I’m here to see Mr. Dracula!” Ye Feng said bluntly. “There is no Mr. Dracula here—only Count Dracula!” the middle-aged man corrected arrogantly, seemingly unwilling to let Ye Feng in. “Alright, then I’ll see Count Dracula!” Ye Feng found the vampires’ habits truly unbearable. “He isn’t home now! Who are you?” the middle-aged man, who seemed to be the butler, gave Ye Feng a disappointing answer. “My name is Ye Feng. I’m from China. I’m here to confirm something with him.” Ye Feng didn’t hide much. “Oh, but the Count is out and unlikely to return in the near future! I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed.” The butler didn’t ask further questions and simply informed Ye Feng that Dracula was away. “Is it too much to ask to speak inside?” Ye Feng clearly didn’t believe his words. “Hmm…” The butler hesitated for a moment. “Alright, judging by your appearance, you won’t believe it unless you check for yourself! Come in then. After all, you already know some things you shouldn’t.” Ye Feng smiled indifferently and followed him into the castle.
The surrounding residents, witnessing this scene, could hardly believe their eyes. As far as they knew, the owner of this ancient castle did not welcome outsiders. They had lived there for decades without ever setting foot inside to see what it truly looked like, yet a strange Easterner had managed to enter after just a few words.
Ye Feng entered the castle and looked around. It was slightly larger than Nikola’s castle, with more exquisite decorations, suggesting that Dracula seemed to know more about enjoying life than Nikola.
“I wonder how Mr. Ye found his way here?” the butler asked as he poured tea for Ye Feng.
“I have a friend in Canada named Nikola!” After saying this, the butler almost dropped the teapot in his hands.
“I’m curious what exactly the lord wants Mr. Ye to do here?” The butler glanced at Ye Feng sneakingly.
“It wasn’t Nikola who sent me; it’s my own business!” Ye Feng shook his head and glanced at the silent butler before changing the subject. “Are you the butler here?”
“That’s right. I’m Edward, Viscount of the Vampires!” The butler didn’t hide his identity, still believing Ye Feng to be Nikola’s friend.
“Oh, so you’re a viscount.” Ye Feng pretended to be surprised. “I wonder how many counts there are among the vampires now? Besides the two I know…”
“Unfortunately, there are only two lords left on Earth…” Edward sounded somewhat helpless.
“I thought Count Nikola was just joking with me!” Ye Feng finally confirmed that Dracula was very likely the murderer.
“For humans, such things might not matter much, but for vampires, it’s no joke!” Edward said expressionlessly. “Does Mr. Ye have any message he’d like to leave for the lord? If so, you can write it down or just tell me directly.”
“When will Count Dracula return?” Ye Feng ignored Edward’s suggestion.
“Normally, it’s at least a month, and at most over fifty years. He left just five days ago, so it’s unlikely he’ll return in the short term!” Whether Edward was telling the truth or not was unclear.
Ye Feng knew he couldn’t wait for Dracula. “Do you know where he went?”
“I’m not sure. Maybe to China!” Edward still wore a seemingly kind smile on his face.
“Well, it seems you’re not very welcoming! I’ll head back to China first and think of other ways,” said Ye Feng, setting down his teacup before walking away. After the heavy door creaked shut, a young and beautiful woman suddenly appeared beside Edward, shouting at him, “Why won’t you let me take care of him? So what if he’s at the peak of the Golden Core stage? We’re both in the later stage of Golden Core—aren’t we strong enough to deal with him?” “There’s a strong scent of blood on him, even stronger than that of Lord Earl… I’m sure if we attacked him, we’d already be dead bodies lying on the floor…” Edward frowned deeply, his gaze fixed on the closed door for a long time.
