Chapter 020: Treatment

Holding Magnus’s emaciated hand, Ringo asked softly, “Father, how do you feel?”
“Much better, much better. That agonizing feeling has almost completely gone—how wonderful! I’ve never felt this good in all these years!” As the painful sensation faded from his body, Magnus let out a satisfied groan.
Hearing her father’s words, Ringo was completely relieved. Five minutes later, Du Fan withdrew his hand and said to Magnus with a smile, “Elder, the Star Combat Energy that had invaded your body has been completely removed.”
“Good, good, Young Master Du Fan. Thank you so much. By the way, Ringo, are these guests your friends or Young Master Du Fan’s?” Feeling better, Magnus tried to stand up.
“Elder, if you don’t mind, please drink this,” Du Fan said, holding back the rising Magnus as he handed him a cup of Water of Life.
“What are you saying, Young Master Du Fan? If you had malicious intentions, you wouldn’t have bothered to treat me at all.” Magnus took the Water of Life and drank it in one gulp.
After drinking the Water of Life, his wounds healed rapidly. In just two minutes, aside from appearing thin, Magnus was no different from a normal person.
Although the Water of Life could cure all injuries, it couldn’t instantly restore the bodily functions that had been gradually weakened over time. But with its help, it was only a matter of time before Magnus’s body returned to its former strength.
“It’s amazing! Truly amazing, Young Master Du Fan. I really don’t know how to thank you enough,” Magnus repeated repeatedly.
“Haha, Elder, if you truly want to thank Du Fan, marry your daughter to him,” Rob laughed loudly from the side.
Though Rob was a tiger, he could see the affection Ringo felt for Du Fan, especially those explicit words and expressions she showed in front of Stuart—anything a three-year-old could understand.

“As long as my daughter is willing, of course I am.” Hearing Rob say this, Magnus replied seriously, “Such matters naturally depend on my daughter’s wishes. After all, it’s the happiness of her life.”
“Rob, how can you speak like that?” Du Fan said irritably upon hearing Rob’s words.
For Du Fan, it was indeed inappropriate for Rob to say such things in front of Naixiu and Chenchen.
To his surprise, Naixiu had a smile in her eyes, while Chenchen seemed indifferent.
“Ringtone, would you like to follow Young Master Du Fan?” Magnus suddenly asked his daughter.
Hearing her father’s words, Ringtone’s face turned red with shame. Fortunately, as a woman from the barbarian tribe, she wasn’t overly shy about such things.
After her face turned red for a while, Ringtone actually nodded in agreement.
“Good, good. If that’s the case, Young Master Du Fan, I’ll entrust her to you from now on,” Magnus repeated.
“Oh, Elder Chief, what are you saying? If Ringtone follows me, I’ll surely take good care of her,” Du Fan quickly replied.
“That’s good, that’s good. Du Fan, there are no strict rules in our barbarian tribe. From now on, Ringtone will be your woman,” Magnus said seriously.
Hearing Magnus’s words, Du Fan broke into sweat. Angel was betrothed by the old emperor, and although Naixiu wasn’t a queen of the elves, she had at least orchestrated a thousand-year love affair.
Just a few words from Ringtone, and in Magnus’s mouth, she became his woman.
“Ah, but, Elder Chief, I already have a wife,” Du Fan, who usually had thick skin, finally blushed.
To be honest, if it came to taking Ringtone, Du Fan certainly had no objections. After all, he felt somewhat guilty toward her and wanted to make amends. But facing the girl’s father, and with Rob cutting straight to the point, Du Fan was caught off guard.
“That’s no problem. Every hero has multiple wives. In our barbarian tribe, having few women means lacking ability. Young Master Du Fan, you’re so capable at such a young age—it’s only right to have more women,” Magnus said.
I never expected the Elder Chief to be such an open-minded person! Du Fan thought to himself.

“Elder Lord, we have important matters to discuss on this visit,” Du Fan said seriously.
“Oh, what important matters?” Seeing Du Fan’s serious tone, Magnus quickly asked.
“Reine, you should explain it in detail to your father,” Du Fan said to Reine.
Hearing this, Reine began to explain everything in detail to Magnus.
“No wonder, no wonder!” After listening to Reine’s explanation, Magnus shook his head repeatedly. “I wondered why High Priest Gannon suddenly gave up his position as the leader of our alliance and handed it over to the leader of the Fire Clan without any transition.”
“Elder Lord, we’re here to eliminate that bastard Gannon, then make Reine the high priest. After that, we’ll have you return as the leader of the alliance and continue to hold power over the barbarians,” Du Fan said.
“As long as you regain control over the barbarians, our Northern Legion will form an alliance with you, pledging non-aggression. We’ll also steal large amounts of your food every year, and when your Northern Legion uses ice to attack our alliance, you must send troops to assist us if necessary,” Du Fan said outright.
“As long as you can ensure that our people won’t starve or freeze, it doesn’t matter if we send troops to help you!” Magnus shouted.
In fact, the biggest problem for the barbarians was food. Once that issue was resolved, all their problems would be solved.
The idea of getting food without having to raid others was naturally excellent news for Magnus, who had long suffered from food shortages.
With Magnus’s promise, Du Fan’s next task was to eliminate Gannon.
Led by Reine, the group entered the temple directly. Gannon had only announced that Reine was missing, so in the eyes of these barbarians, Reine was still the heir to the high priest—the second most powerful figure after Gannon. Thus, with Reine leading the way, they entered the temple unimpeded, with the barbarians along the way continuously paying respects to her.
Once inside the temple, they couldn’t find Gannon anywhere. After searching thoroughly, they came to one conclusion: Gannon had disappeared.
“What should we do, Du Fan?” Reine asked.

It was like a punch filled with power—this powerful punch was thrown at the enemy, only to find that it had no target at all. This feeling made Du Fan and the others extremely uncomfortable.
“Since we can’t find Gan Nong, then simply announce that Gan Nong has traveled across the continent, leaving behind a priest for you. Then, in your new role as priest, declare that the chief of the Invite the Moon Tribe has fully recovered, and order that your father be given the position of the alliance’s grand elder,” Du Fan said with a frown.
Gan Nong’s sudden disappearance cast dark clouds over Du Fan’s mind. Suddenly, Gan Nong was gone, and Ling Yin immediately took over as the priest. Things happened so abruptly that many in the barbarian tribes would surely resist. Moreover, Gan Nong might still be hiding in the shadows, ready to appear at any moment. If he suddenly reappeared among the barbarians, it would surely cause another storm within their ranks. This would add more variables to Duke Green’s campaign against the Frozen Alliance.
“Haha, Du Fan, why make things so complicated? I can turn the little fox into Gan Nong’s appearance, and then the fake Gan Nong can simply announce those things, right?” Chen Chen said with a smile.
“The little fox has never seen Gan Nong’s face—how can she imitate him?” Du Fan asked in confusion.
“That’s easy. You say you’ve seen Gan Nong, so I can capture his image in your minds, and then transfer that image to the little fox’s mind,” Chen Chen said with a smile.
“Of course. When I capture the image, just try to recall Gan Nong’s appearance in your minds. Also, when my mental energy enters your minds, don’t resist,” Chen Chen said with a smile.
“Go ahead, capture the image in my mind,” Du Fan said upon hearing Chen Chen’s words.
“Oh, okay, my master. I’m coming. Don’t worry, it’ll be quick,” Chen Chen said with a giggling voice.
She stretched out her hand and placed it directly on Du Fan’s mind. A flash of white light appeared, and Du Fan felt dizzy as Chen Chen’s hand withdrew from his mind.
Turning her hand over, Chen Chen now held a beautiful little fox. She placed her hand on the fox’s head, and soon, another flash of white light appeared, revealing a man clad in a white robe.
“Haha, amazing! Truly amazing!” Seeing Gan Nong before him, Du Fan burst into laughter.
Standing nearby, Ling Yin was also shocked, her mouth wide open as she looked at her former mentor.

“Ringtone, you’re back. Was it okay outside?” Ganon spoke up. Du Fan naturally had a record of Ganon’s voice in his mind, and as soon as he spoke, the tone and pitch were exactly like Ganon’s.
“Ringtone, look. Can this trick all of you barbarians?” Du Fan said with a smile.
“If I can fool you, tricking those people from my tribe is no problem at all,” Ringtone said with a smirk.
Soon after, the long-absent Priest Ganon suddenly appeared and summoned important leaders from various tribes for a crucial meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was that Priest Ganon planned to travel across the continent, so he passed on the position of priest to Ringtone. He also announced that the leader of the Moon Inviting Tribe had recovered fully, so the position of the Alliance Elder was returned to Magnus.
After these two orders were given, Priest Ganon never appeared again.
Of course, no one dared to disobey Ganon’s orders. But just as Du Fan and the others were about to leave, something else happened—Aledis, the leader of the Flaming Fire Tribe, led his people to attack the Moon Inviting Tribe.
Early that morning, Aledis brought thousands of warriors from the Flaming Fire Tribe to the front of the Moon Inviting Tribe, shouting that they wanted to settle things with them in a battle.
“Aledis, are you also going to defy Priest Ganon’s orders?” Magnus shouted at Aledis.
Although he still looked very thin, Magnus’s spirit had almost fully recovered. His thin appearance actually gave him an air of pride and dignity.
“Magnus, your daughter became the priest, and you became the Alliance Elder. It seems all the advantages go to you barbarians. Our Flaming Fire Tribe refuses to accept this! We don’t need any Alliance Elder anymore. Let’s fight today! The loser will be fully incorporated into the victorious tribe. Once our two tribes merge, the entire barbarian race can be unified! The winner will naturally become the ruler of all barbarians!” Aledis shouted loudly.
