Chapter 019: Chenchen’s Return
Looking at the sphere in Rob’s hands, Du Fan felt a very familiar sensation. This white sphere resembled the Divine Origin he had absorbed to a large extent—six or seven percent similar. It also contained a source of power, though its purity was far lower compared to Du Fan’s Divine Origin.
Du Fan held the white sphere in his hand and explored it with his mind. Sure enough, it contained streams of that source power, but it was only 60–70% similar to Du Fan’s Divine Origin. Moreover, mixed with that power-like energy were many other chaotic energies, which would surely interfere with the absorption of that power-like energy.
However, the Divine Origin was a fragment of the supreme god’s attributeless divinity. Such a thing was, even in the realm of the supreme gods, among the most precious treasures!
The energy created by Rob was already sufficient to transform an adult like Lilith, who had no cultivation experience, into a physique suitable for cultivation.
Generally speaking, those who had never cultivated, once they reached adulthood, found it extremely difficult to start cultivating because their physiques were fixed. They couldn’t sense the energy fluctuations in the world, let alone absorb and cultivate them!
Getting such a person back on the path of cultivation was even more difficult than overcoming the challenges Du Fan had faced initially!
“Rob, this is really good stuff!” Du Fan said, holding the white sphere.
“Good stuff? Hehe, I don’t think so. If you like it, I’ll give it to you,” Rob said with a smile. “But don’t say I didn’t warn you—this thing only works the first time. I tried it on Lilith many times, but it only managed to raise her cultivation level to the first stage; beyond that, it was useless.”
“Haha, so can Lilith continue cultivating?” Du Fan asked immediately upon hearing this.
As expected, Rob replied, “Of course. I’m already teaching her.”
It seemed this thing was far better than the Milak potion. Du Fan thought to himself. The Milak potion only transformed physiques that couldn’t cultivate, but this sphere not only transformed them but also instantly raised the user’s strength to the first stage.
On even rarer occasions, this sphere could transform adults into those suitable for cultivation—a capability that even Mikra potions couldn’t compare to! What the two of them didn’t know was that creating such an object required extremely stringent conditions. Not only must the creator possess all four elements—fire, earth, wind, and water—but they also needed to have divine-level cultivation and the power of gods to create it. Of course, such things were very common in the divine realm, but how could things from the divine realm be easily passed down? Moreover, such objects were basically useless in the divine realm, and no god would be bored enough to create them.
“Rob, how many of these Mikra potions can you make in a day?” Du Fan asked immediately again.
“Making these things is really tough,” Rob said with a frown. “I have to use all my divine power to create them. In a day, I can only make about twenty.”
“Hmm, Rob, could you make fifty of these for me?” Du Fan thought for a moment before saying.
“Good heavens! Du Fan, what do you want so many for? You should know these things are completely useless to you!” Rob exclaimed loudly.
“They may be useless to me, but they’re useful to others,” Du Fan said. Then, he quietly whispered in Rob’s ear in a voice only Rob could hear, “Rob, we can exchange these for money. Do you know what money is? It’s what we need to spend time with those pretty girls last night. If you make more of these, I’ll exchange them for money and take you there to have fun.”
“Haha! Okay, Du Fan, I’ll make them right away!” Rob agreed promptly after hearing Du Fan’s words in his ear.
“Hmm, Rob, there’s one more thing I need your help with. Could you go to Dhoha City and bring Chenchen here?” Du Fan said with a smile. “After that, I’ll take you both to the north to have fun!”
“Damn it! Du Fan, are you treating me like a laborer? First asking me to make spheres, now asking me to pick people up,” Rob said unhappily.
Suddenly, Du Fan took out another ten-thousand gold coin card, just like the one he gave Shalin before, and waved it in front of Rob. “So, are you going or not?” Du Fan asked with a smile.
“I’ll go, I’ll go! I’ll leave right away,” Rob said upon seeing the card.
“Lilith, be good and go play first. I’ll go to Dhoha City to bring Chenchen back and then meet you,” Rob said to Lilith.
“Okay, go quickly. Go and come back fast,” Lily said reluctantly.
Hearing Lily’s words, Rob transformed into a meteor and rushed southward at high speed!
By the time Chenchen arrived at Duke Green’s residence, it was already past 3 p.m.
Upon hearing of Chenchen’s return, Ringtone rushed out immediately. Facing Duke Green, Du Fan, as the son, decided no longer to hide anything. While Rob was going south to bring Chenchen back, Du Fan introduced Ringtone to Duke Green.
Thus, Ringtone was finally able to see the light inside Duke Green’s residence.
“Chenchen, you’re back!” Seeing Chenchen, Ringtone quickly grabbed her and said joyfully.
“Who are you?” Chenchen asked, looking at Ringtone in confusion.
“Ringtone. It’s like this—after using the space transfer magic, Chenchen lost her previous memories, so she no longer remembers you,” Du Fan explained hurriedly upon seeing the two women’s reaction.
“I see.” Hearing Du Fan’s explanation, Ringtone nodded but still stood beside Chenchen.
“Ringtone, are you ready? If so, let’s head to the northern barbarian lands together!” Du Fan said loudly.
“Of course I’m ready,” Ringtone replied with a nod.
Sitting on Rob’s transformed form, the Dark Demon Tiger, Du Fan, Chenchen, Naixiu, Ringtone, and the others set off northward. At their divine-speed journey, after just about two hours of flying, they could already see the mountains surrounding the valley. However, due to the height of the Dark Demon Tiger, those mountains, which had seemed very tall from the ground, now appeared like small buns, neatly surrounding the valley ahead.
After flying over, it wasn’t long before they could see the territory of the Moon-Inviting Tribe in the valley.
“Du Fan, land first. I want to see my father and the people of the tribe,” Ringtone said emotionally upon seeing the familiar place.
“Rob, land right in front of that largest house,” Du Fan instructed the Dark Demon Tiger.
A gust of wind blew, and the Dark Demon Tiger quickly landed in front of Magnus’s house.
With the sudden landing of the Dark Demon Tiger, the warriors of the Moon-Inviting Tribe, led by Stuart, immediately surrounded them. Although the Dark Demon Tiger, in Rob’s form, exuded thunderous winds and an overwhelming pressure, these barbarian warriors, fearless by nature, ignored what kind of divine beast the Dark Demon Tiger was and simply surrounded it.
“Stuart, he’s one of us. Don’t attack.” To Stuart’s ears, it sounded like heavenly music. Hearing this melodious voice, Stuart was stunned, and the Crazy Bone Flower in his hand fell to the ground with a snap. “High Priest, is it really you? I’m not dreaming, am I?” Stuart murmured. Seeing Stuart’s expression, Du Fan’s heart skipped a beat—something was wrong; it seemed Stuart was definitely interested in Ringtone. “Is my father here?” Ringtone ignored Stuart’s reaction and asked directly. Looking at Ringtone now, Du Fan smiled inwardly—she finally had a bit of the demeanor she had when they first met. “The clan leader is inside the house, but ever since the High Priest disappeared, his health has been declining day by day,” Stuart said. At that moment, a purple-green glow flashed on the Dark Demon Tiger’s body, and Rob appeared. “Good boy, you’re not afraid of me at all.” The Dark Demon Tiger, now in Rob’s form, walked up to Stuart, patted his shoulder, and said. “Du Fan, let’s go see my father.” With her head lowered, Ringtone spoke softly to Du Fan, her gaze filled with tenderness. Seeing Ringtone like this, Du Fan laughed and said, “Then let’s go in!” Of course, Du Fan knew that Ringtone was deliberately showing this tenderness she usually didn’t exhibit just to make her feelings clear to him—to show that she really didn’t care about Stuart. Stuart’s feelings were nothing but one-sided. After Du Fan, Ringtone, and the others entered Magnus’s room, Stuart let out a wild scream, picked up the Crazy Bone Flower, and ran off in a certain direction. “Child, you’re back. Priest Gannon said you disappeared along with Master Du Fan. I never thought you’d return.” Seeing Ringtone and Du Fan, Magnus, who was lying half-reclined, spoke tremblingly. Since their last meeting, Magnus had become even thinner and paler. “Dad, don’t talk yet. Let me check your injuries.” Ringtone said, tears in her eyes as she looked at her father’s emaciated face. After unbinding Magnus’s clothes, it was clear his body was extremely weak. The wound on his heart had completely rotted away, and through the cracked wound, a bright red heart could be seen beating slowly.
“The Ganon Priest said I won’t live past two months. I’m already satisfied to see you before I die,” Magnus said softly, stroking Ringo’s hair as it covered his unfastened clothes.
“Mm,” Ringo replied to her father, then turned to Du Fan and asked, “Du Fan, do you think my father can still be saved?”
“Of course he can!” Du Fan said firmly. “If I weren’t from the Green Family, perhaps the water from the Spring of Life could only heal my father’s surface wounds. But haha, Ringo, don’t worry. It won’t be long before your father is as lively as before,” Du Fan said with a smile.
Reaching out, Du Fan’s palm emitted star energy, which he placed above Magnus’s wound. Immediately, streams of the same energy began to flow out from Magnus’s wound as well.
Magnus’s wound had persisted for too long, allowing much of the star energy to penetrate deep into his body. Though tiny, this energy was extremely tenacious. To remove it, Du Fan had to be careful, slowly and meticulously clearing it out bit by bit.
As the star energy was drawn out, a hint of color returned to Magnus’s face, and his breathing gradually stabilized.
