Chapter 004: The Second Wall

Watching as the soldiers of these allied forces worked hard to break through the city walls, the people on Basha’s side showed no reaction at all.
Soon, the dwarf warriors among the allied forces quickly managed to breach the walls of the Black Panther Knight Order’s base. But once they entered the walls, they were stunned.
Beyond the open plain before them, there stood another row of tall walls on the opposite side.
On top of those walls, archers and rows of dwarf warriors were already in position.
As soon as the allied dwarfs stood behind the first wall, arrows from the archers on the second wall began to fly at them.
The protective walls of the Black Panther Knight Order’s base were not just one layer; between the first and second walls was an open, relatively flat area, which was usually used as one of the training grounds for the Black Panther knights.
Any soldiers from the Karu allied forces who managed to break through the first wall would be instantly killed by the long arrows of the elves the moment they appeared in that open area between the two walls.
This time, there were no mountain giants to intimidate the enemy with their attacks, nor any creatures as fearless as mountain giants, unafraid of the elves’ long arrows.
“Keep breaking through the walls—don’t go inside!” Komhan shouted upon seeing this situation.
Komhan’s decision was absolutely correct. Soon, a row of holes, each about 1.5 meters high, appeared beneath the walls. These holes were extremely wide, spanning over 100 meters.
With such width, even if a large force tried to charge in, the 2,000 archers on the opposing walls would be more than enough to stop them. Moreover, the distance between the two walls was only about 500 meters, so a large force could reach the other side in no time.
Most of Basha’s Black Panther knights, along with soldiers sent from various tribes, were already engaged in the battles ahead. On the second wall, only Nayshu’s 2,000 archers and 2,000 dwarf warriors remained. These dwarf warriors stood on top of the wall, ready to use stones, battering rams, and boiling oil.
With walls just over 1,000 meters apart, 4,000 archers and warriors stood on those walls—essentially, three people per meter! These archers and dwarf warriors were evenly distributed on both sides of the second gate, quietly waiting for the arrival of the Karu allied forces.

At that moment, a long cry of an eagle came from the sky. Du Fan, who was flying in the sky, changed expression upon hearing it.
Who else could be making such a cry except the second-in-command of those magical beasts?
A giant golden eagle flew in from the horizon, and sitting on it was Tek.
After a few days, Tek’s face had returned to its original state, though it appeared slightly paler.
“Du Fan! You little guy still alive?” Tek, sitting on the golden eagle, was stunned upon seeing Du Fan.
“Tek, surprised?” Du Fan was also a bit surprised to see him. If helping to besiege Moses involved only the elves, this time it was a real battle between the forces of Basha and Karu. Could Tek’s arrival mean that Basha had completely broken away, and the magical beasts were about to get involved in the dwarves’ internal strife?
“Tek, do you really have to get involved in the orcs’ internal conflict?” Du Fan asked loudly as he flew in the air.
“Du Fan, you won’t understand. Our goals are different,” Tek said with a slight smile.
“Oh, then could the second-in-command tell me what your goal is?” Du Fan asked.
“Since I’m here today, I naturally intend to assist Karu in dealing with you. Du Fan, why waste words?” Tek smiled gracefully and took out a thin object from his pocket.
When that thin object was taken out, it split into two pieces. Upon closer inspection, Du Fan saw that what Tek was holding was a pair of thin, golden gloves.
With elegance, Tek put on the gloves. Then, suddenly, he jumped off the golden eagle and flew toward Du Fan.
As a master of his domain, Tek naturally knew how to fly. Diving from the sky, his speed was hardly slower than that of the golden eagle.
In mid-air, Tek kept waving his hands, and the gloves emitted thin golden threads. Those golden threads intertwined in the air and quickly formed a large net that rushed toward Du Fan.

When Du Fan saw Tek pull out that pair of gloves, he knew they must have some extraordinary function. Seeing the gloves continuously spinning out golden threads, Du Fan’s eyes narrowed. He could sense right away that the threads released by those gloves possessed a special power. With Tek’s peak abilities, yet still relying on an artifact to unleash such a force, Du Fan didn’t dare underestimate it at all. Abandoning the five Mountain Giants, Du Fan took out the Holy Radiance Staff, quickly recited a few spells, and with a wave of his hand, a gust of wind blew toward the strange net. That wind gathered into a blue wind column in midair, spiraling as it pierced into the net made of golden threads. Soon, the golden net caught the wind column. Once trapped, the column seemed to be absorbed by the net, which grew thicker and brighter. Meanwhile, the wind column Du Fan had unleashed continued to shrink. Seeing this, Du Fan’s first thought was to dodge, but before he could do so, Tek’s attack arrived. A golden fist struck straight at Du Fan’s head. Du Fan quickly waved his Holy Radiance Staff, sending waves of wind blades at Tek. Tek simply threw another punch, and a burst of golden energy radiated out, melting all the wind blades that touched it. Just as Du Fan faced Tek after abandoning the five Mountain Giants, the five giants underground began to shout loudly. Du Fan soared much higher, making it clear to the giants that they could no longer attack him. This made them extremely furious. Fearing that Du Fan might fly away and escape, they couldn’t avenge their comrades killed by him. As a result, the giants chasing Du Fan all started shouting angrily. Their combined shouts sounded like rocks rolling down a mountain, creating an extremely uncomfortable noise. Before Du Fan could react, Tek in the air shouted, “Stop making noise!”

For some reason, as soon as those mountain giants heard Tek’s anger and looked up, they saw a look of fear on Tek’s face in the air. It was only then that the mountain giants seemed to wake up from their profound sorrow and anger and started running away at full speed. These mountain giants did not run to the battlefield to fight against Basha and the others, nor did they return to Karu’s position; instead, they ran straight backward and disappeared without a trace! It seemed that this second-in-command of the magical beasts had truly terrified those mountain giants. In that instant, Tek’s fist struck in front of Du Fan, sending out a flash of white light as Du Fan froze mid-air. Yet this punch did not knock Du Fan away. “Hey, Du Fan, it’s been a few days—seems like your cultivation has improved quite a bit,” Tek said in surprise. All that immense divine essence had been continuously transformed and absorbed by Du Fan over the past few days, making his body incredibly strong. Just in terms of physical strength, Du Fan could now compete with those lower-level gods, so naturally, Tek’s punch could not throw him away. Just as Tek was grappling with Du Fan, the golden net finally descended, enveloping Du Fan entirely. “Du Fan, this net incorporates the characteristics of my Decomposition Domain—feel it well,” Tek said. As the golden net covered Du Fan, his Absolute Protection automatically activated. The moment it was deployed, Du Fan felt that the energy sustaining Absolute Protection was rapidly disappearing. Indeed, the golden net contained Tek’s decomposition skills from the Decomposition Domain, and this decomposition power was even stronger than when Tek used the Decomposition Space! Du Fan let out a low growl, concentrating all his energy within his body, then released a massive burst of energy. Although the golden net had decomposition capabilities, there was a limit to what it could handle. With such a sudden release of enormous energy, the net simply couldn’t decompose it in time and was torn apart by Du Fan’s sudden burst of power!

Continuous cracking sounds were heard as the golden web instantly shattered into countless tiny golden threads, which then turned into golden light and disappeared into the air. Just as Du Fan tore apart the golden web, Tek’s fist struck again. With determination, Du Fan also threw a punch back at Tek. With a loud boom, the clash between these two powerful warriors created a massive shockwave. Fortunately, since they were fighting in mid-air, the shockwave only knocked over some of the dwarf warriors below. On top of the second city wall, Nai Xiu had long noticed the battle. As the second leader of the magical beasts appeared, Nai Xiu had already taken out the Eternal Bow, and she also put on the Elf King’s Ring. Outside the city walls, beyond the first wall, dwarfs from various tribes, along with those from the Black Panther Knights, continued to resist Karu’s forces, preventing them from advancing further. Although a powerful mental force supported Bilu’s warriors as they fought fiercely against the Black Panther Knights, the gap in strength remained evident. As time passed, the number of casualties on Karu’s side gradually increased.
