Chapter 001: The Deal

Isela was filled with grief and anger: “Although I, Isela, am now your mount, you still can’t insult me like this!” But seeing the faint smile on Chenchen’s face, Isela’s heart pounded wildly, leaving her speechless.
“By the way…” Chenchen said casually, “since you claim to be the Dragon of Dreams, you must know at least the basics of transformation magic, right? If you can’t even do that, then I’ll have to give you a proper lesson today.”
Isela nodded repeatedly. “Well… of course I can…”
Chenchen said, “Good. Then transform into something small—something as big and inconvenient as this is really troublesome.”
Isela grew even more resentful. Dragons are naturally large in size. If you force me to use my original form as a mount, who can be blamed?
But she didn’t dare say more. Though her life as a dragon had been lonely as snow, at least now she understood that her happiness for the rest of her life likely depended on this great master. If she didn’t perform well, her days ahead would likely be miserable.
Determined to impress her, she silently recited a few phrases of dragon magic. Her body shrank rapidly, and soon, a puff of smoke appeared—Isela’s size was now less than a meter long. Her lower body had four hooves like a horse’s, while her upper body remained that of a dragon, complete with wings. It was neither truly a dragon nor a horse.
But Isela seemed unaware of this. She glanced at Chenchen proudly, only to realize moments later that her transformation was wrong. She quickly changed into a cute, obedient appearance, sticking out her tongue as if wanting to get close.
“Disgusting!”
Chenchen snorted and waved her hand. Isela’s body tumbled several times in midair before crashing to the ground. Though her skin was thick and she felt little pain, she was confused—was her new master a sadist? If so… well, at most she’d get beaten once a day. She could just close her eyes and endure it.
But when she opened her eyes, Chenchen had already left. Taking this opportunity, Isela finally had time to examine her appearance. She looked at herself proudly, thinking, “My great Lord Isela transformed into this Pegasus. Though it’s not as cold-hearted as a unicorn, in terms of beauty, it’s surely the best in the Roland Continent, right?”
But she hadn’t been happy for two minutes before she froze in shock!

Is this half-baked creature really me? Isella finally realized that she was still the same as before—unable to even use the most basic dragon speech magic. Disheartened, she removed the transformation effect and reverted to her dragon form. With effort, she flapped her fleshy wings and kept up with Chenchen’s pace. Chenchen glanced back at her once more; this time, she nodded slightly in satisfaction and said, “Just stay in this form unless there’s something urgent. If you dare to change into another form without my orders, that stone will serve as a lesson for you.” As she spoke, Chenchen tapped her finger lightly, and a spark of holy flame shot out from it, sinking into a stone. A beam of holy light emerged from the stone before it vanished silently into the air. Isella was sweating profusely. She obediently nodded, trying to imitate the appearance of an angel as she circled around Chenchen. Frustrated, Chenchen waved her hand again, and this time Isella’s figure disappeared without a trace. Du Fan finally felt relieved. No matter how big that stupid dragon’s appetite was, as long as it stayed in this form, even if it ate a hundred gold coins at once, he would endure it—after all, having a dragon around was useful in many situations. For example, acting as a dragon slayer in front of noble ladies wasn’t difficult at all, much like deceiving innocent girls with sweet words online in his past life. Legend said that if a dragon slayer wanted to kill thousands, as long as he had the strength, it wouldn’t be a dream. Du Fan’s mouth watered—wouldn’t he be able to choose any woman he wanted in the future? How could he keep up? He sighed inwardly, but despite his complaints, there were still countless tasks to complete. What exactly was that overwhelming pressure just now? Did the Source of Gods truly exist? If these issues weren’t resolved, even if hundreds of naked women tried to tempt him, he would have to remain pure! Du Fan took a deep breath, and the chaotic thoughts in his mind gradually faded away. A smile appeared on his face as he walked toward Chenchen. Chenchen slowly came up to Du Fan, smiled faintly, and said, “Worried about me?”

Du Fan emitted an “hm” and said, “I’ll settle accounts with you properly later about where you suddenly ran off to before. For now, we still have a lot to do. By the way… you’d better put on your clothes…”
As he spoke, Du Fan took out a robe from his storage ring and threw it at Chen Chen.
Chen Chen smiled and casually put on the robe, asking, “What’s wrong? Don’t I look good like this?”
Du Fan couldn’t help but force a smile at Chen Chen’s alluring grin; he could only shake his head slowly and say, “Can’t I say I’m at a disadvantage? After all, I’m your master… Since you’re my property, it’s not appropriate to show you off to others… Enough… let’s not talk about this… Now that you’re here with me, I feel a bit more confident, but I still have a lot of accounts to settle with those guys over there.”
As he spoke, Du Fan glanced briefly at Alfred.
Alfred shuddered, holding Nicholas tighter in his arms.
Du Fan smiled slightly and withdrew his gaze. He glanced at Ferre and Tasia behind him and said, “You two, I know you must have many doubts, but let’s talk about these things later. For now, I’m going to take care of those bastards… There’s still a lot to do later. Since we’ve come to the Divine Palace, surely we can’t leave empty-handed?”
Ferre nodded, not daring to say much.
Tasia hesitated for a moment before saying, “Du Fan… Nicholas’s life must be spared… Otherwise, we won’t be able to explain to Lord Anthony…”
“Anything else?”
“Also… be careful…”
What a great kindness from a beauty!
Du Fan inwardly sighed with narcissistic pride. He smiled at Tasia, nodded, gave Chen Chen a gesture, and then walked over to Alfred.
Alfred wasn’t stupid; he naturally understood that resisting at such a time would only bring shame upon himself. Holding Nicholas in one arm, he whispered, “Du Fan… Hmph… Du Fan… We’re both traitors to the Holy Church. Do you still want to stand up for the Holy Church and take my life?”
Du Fan became interested. He crossed his arms and circled Alfred a few times before saying, “Oh… am I also a traitor? Then please tell me, Lord Alfred… in what way do I resemble a traitor?”

Alfred’s expression changed several times before he finally said, “That woman… no one else knows who she is… but I do… She is that ‘abomination’ imprisoned in the Old Sanctuary for a thousand years. Although I already knew she had escaped, I never expected her to fall into your hands. Lord Du Fan, if I’m guessing correctly… that day… in the Old Sanctuary of the Holy Church… with blood everywhere and corpses stretching for miles… it was all done by you, right? Even the combat energy you’ve developed in just three months, you worthless wretch, must be closely related to that woman, right?”

“Clap—clap—”

Du Fan gently clapped his hands and said, “Impressive… really impressive. Although Lord Alfred, you haven’t guessed everything, you’re right about seven or eight out of ten things. But how could such a smart man as you reveal such things? You should know that if you hadn’t spoken, maybe I would have let you go when I was in a good mood. But now that you’ve spoken, aren’t you forcing me to kill you?”

Alfred sighed softly and said, “Du Fan, Du Fan… we both know too well. Why do you have to deliberately speak ill of me like this? My betrayal… all of you already know about it. If you let me go, I’ll probably not be able to explain things to Tasia and the others, right? So whether I speak or not, you’ll kill me anyway… Am I right?”

Du Fan smiled and said, “Lord Alfred, you’re quite perceptive! But… since you understand, why do you still reveal what you know? Do you think your death isn’t fast enough?”

Alfred shook his head and said, “I just want you to understand one thing: even though I’m in this situation now, if I want to… I still have ways to cause you some trouble… For example, if I spoke louder about what I just said… what would you do? Kill Tasia and that Templar Knight? Or have them take these words back? Don’t forget, Miss Tasia is from the Divine Might Prison!”

Du Fan nodded slightly and then said calmly after a moment, “This round is yours… Go ahead… what are your conditions? But you should also know what will happen if your conditions are too excessive…”
