Chapter 33: Who Is the True Hero? (2)

The unassuming knight’s spear leaped lightly in Caesar’s hands, and a faint ripple of light spread out like ripples on water. At first glance, it seemed nothing special, but as the light flowed and grew brighter, with the force of a tide crashing against the shore, it reached a point of unstoppable momentum just before the final moment!
Komer’s expression changed. Although Caesar’s swing appeared casual and the spear didn’t seem to make much movement, Komer could sense the fierce intensity in his eyes. This was undoubtedly Caesar’s all-out strike. Anyone who underestimated it would surely be destroyed.
Shatima was the first to realize the power of that fierce light. With a sharp cry, she unleashed her Ice Dragon power, forming a solid energy shield around her body. But when the light swept toward her, she truly understood the sheer strength of Caesar’s attack.
The relentless force passed through Shatima’s shield without any hindrance. The combat energy from the dragon spear was shattered in an instant, and the light sliced through the thickest part of the shield as easily as cutting through fruit. In shock and anger, Shatima could only roar, but the light penetrated her body.
The powerful combat energy rushed into her body, throwing her several meters away. The blood surging in her chest became uncontrollable, spraying out as a vivid arc in the air.
Filled with shock and anger after taking such a severe blow, Shatima tried desperately to control her body in midair. But Caesar’s attack was too powerful. If it weren’t for Komer’s stabilizing magic, Shatima would have been completely destroyed, unable to fight back. Even so, Caesar’s strike nearly ruined her ability to resist, leaving her blood flow so sluggish that she couldn’t even control her flight.
After countless thoughts swirling in her mind, Shatima finally lost control. She couldn’t tolerate someone who had caused her such harm still standing there arrogantly in front of her. No one could do that—even the Dragon God not!
With a fierce cry, Shatima curled up suddenly, her body twisting and stretching strangely. Her beautiful knight’s armor fell from her, and her dragon spear dropped to the ground. At the same time, an ice-blue giant dragon soared through the air.

“Roar!” Shatima’s massive dragon form circled gracefully in the air before locking its head onto Caesar, a fierce dragon roar erupting from its throat. It was the first time Caesar had encountered a true giant dragon. Although there were many books on dragon battles in the Church of Light, those were merely theoretical knowledge. Only when facing such a powerful creature firsthand could one realize just how formidable it was. The deadly dragon roar sent shockwaves that left Caesar with little time to dodge them. All he could do was confront this seemingly fatal attack head-on. This wave of sound, embodying Shatima’s entire fury, seemed to compress all the pressure within her massive body before exploding suddenly. In that instant, the sound waves enveloped the entire space, capable of tearing apart any elemental matter present! Shatima was no longer the ignorant ice dragon from the swamps; she knew exactly how to maximize the power of her dragon roar. Caesar’s expression turned grave as he swung his knight’s spear repeatedly in front of him, his hands moving swiftly as he thrust sixty-eight spears in an instant. The speed was so great that countless afterimages appeared, forming a shimmering barrier in front of him. The intense dragon roar struck the barrier first, causing the space to warp again, creating strange and colorful illusions. Caesar felt an indescribable pressure in his chest, along with a faint metallic taste—he knew this meant he was injured. He couldn’t remember how many years it had been since he last experienced such a sensation. Tasting it with his tongue now, he found it somewhat novel. The wave of light launched by Caesar was not aimed only at Shatima but also at the metal puppet. The small metal puppet finally couldn’t avoid it. A sharp energy blast swept across its body, from the elbow joints to the waist. After violent shaking, the puppet could no longer hold itself together—the impact had completely destroyed the connections between its joints. Most of its body drooped to the ground, still struggling in a ridiculous manner.

The Great Metal Puppet also suffered from this attack, but it was clear that Mihaijevic’s second-generation creation was far superior to the earlier ones—at least the material used at the joint connections was completely different from that of the first version. Although that strike still left the Great Metal Puppet on the verge of collapse, it ultimately managed to hold on, allowing Mihaijevic to breathe a sigh of relief as he quickly drew out two magic scrolls to help the puppet recover from metal fatigue.

Compared to Shatima and the Metal Puppet’s experiences, the Great Bear performed far better. Aside from dodging Caesar’s fierce strike by sidestepping, Komer also provided the greatest assistance he could. Three solidified spells were cast upon it; although the last two arrived slightly late, the first one significantly enhanced the Great Bear’s strength.

The fierce, sweeping force struck the Great Bear’s body as if hitting a thick layer made up of hundreds of parchment sheets. The heavy, brutal impact reverberated within its body. Komer watched in horror as the Great Bear’s body swayed in the air, but it eventually stabilized, its two short swords turning back into two dazzling orbs as it charged forward.

Komer’s expression changed rapidly. He knew that if he continued to delay, Caesar might truly give him no more chances. Now, he had to unleash all his strength—only then could he stand a chance against his opponent. He had already done his best to weaken the opponent’s strength, but sadly, Caesar’s power truly lived up to that of the continent’s strongest warrior. Against such overwhelming strength, any clever tactics seemed unlikely to make a decisive difference.
