Chapter 55: The Burning Starry Sky, Section 5

“Clang clang clang clang…” A series of metallic sounds. On the massive virtual puppet, the Snake Fang mounting system activated almost simultaneously, its teeth snapping open. Countless giant humanoid figures seemed to awaken from slumber, suddenly standing upright. Beneath their huge droplet-shaped shells, limbs stretched out rapidly. Then, like a gust of wind, they swept forward along with the fleet.

Meanwhile, within the Moor fleet outside the flames, no one had any idea what was happening.
It’s no wonder—after all, the explosive eruption of the Eternal Crystal was terrifying. The entire starry sky was filled with searing flames, a sight beyond human imagination. In fact, even those present would likely hesitate to confront such a scene.
After all, those were temperatures in the tens of millions of degrees. The incandescent flames completely obscured everything. Even being near the edge of the flames was a torment. Though the Moor giants’ ships had high defense levels, they were not strong enough to withstand such heat. The closer they got to the flames, the more they had to boost the power of their protective shields. This was certainly not good news for a fleet about to engage in battle.

So, despite the Moor emperor’s meticulous preparations, the imperial giants lurking in ambush still kept a safe distance from the flames. The buffer zone between them was at least a thousand kilometers. Additionally, the plasma generated by the flames severely disrupted the ships’ imaging systems, leaving the Moor fleet blind—completely unaware of what was happening within the flames.
This became their fatal weakness.

Five thousand seven hundred Snake Fangs rushed toward those Moor giants, enveloped in flames. The thousand-kilometer distance took almost no time at their terrifying straight-line speed. By the time their giant swords struck the enemy ships, the Moors hadn’t fully reacted.
“Enemy… enemy attack!!!” A shrill cry echoed through the fleet. Chaos ensued on the Moor giants’ ships. Footsteps were chaotic, making it impossible to count them. The ship cannons responsible for fire control also lost their aim. Although billions of energy beams were fired at once, few actually hit the Snake Fangs.

The Snake Fangs are simply too fast! Though their massive bodies appear cumbersome, that’s far from the truth. From the beginning of their design, the Snake Fangs were meant to have the characteristics of large shuttles—ships that are the fastest in the universe after warships. So despite their large size, they actually possess astonishing speed. The terrifying flames they carry as they burst out of the fire sea serve as their best protection. To the warriors of the Moor Empire, they resemble demons emerging from hell!!

“Oh, my Mother Goddess Tia. What on earth are these things!?”

Chaos ensued on the channels of the Moor Empire. Shouts of shock rang out one after another. After all, although they had many massive ships, they had never witnessed the power of the Snake Fangs. As the rulers of the universe, their numerous past victories had made them somewhat complacent. Coupled with the utterly terrifying appearance of the Snake Fangs, their fleet instantly suffered from command disarray. Such a large fleet could no longer exert the strength they had anticipated.

In contrast, the Snake Fangs, having invaded the Moor fleet’s position, were fully in control of the situation. The Blood Wolf warriors, who had been suppressed in the sea of fire for so long, were now relentless. In just an instant, over thirty Moor massive ships were torn in half by the Snake Fangs! Roaring explosions and blazing flames became the most prominent sights in the fleet.

Amidst the noise, a Snake Fang streaked through the starry sky at a speed barely visible to the naked eye, suddenly appearing in front of a Moor massive ship. This ship had just fired a round of artillery and hadn’t expected to be targeted. Suddenly, a giant steel humanoid appeared before it, and all the crew members screamed in shock.

Unfortunately, their screams couldn’t reach the pilot of the Snake Fang. Nor could they see the fierce smile on the face of the Blood Wolf pilot inside the cockpit of the Snake Fang.

A huge two-handed sword, like lightning, suddenly tore through space and flashed past the bridge. In the next moment, the Snake Fang, wrapped in flames, had already rushed to the other side of the starry sky. Behind it, the poor massive ship let out a deafening explosion as its bridge slowly collapsed.

There were many such scenes in battle, and they became increasingly frequent. If anyone were to keep track, they would find that within just ten minutes of the Snake Fangs charging into enemy lines, over a thousand of the Moors’ giant ships were destroyed. In contrast to this terrifying figure, the Snake Fangs suffered minimal losses—less than seventeen of their ships were captured due to their attack routes or shot down in the air.

The most direct result of this stark disparity was that the Moorish fleet fell into unprecedented chaos. Their once orderly formations were disrupted by the Snake Fangs’ reckless advances. From Grizzly Bear’s perspective from behind, it looked like a scattered mess.

Yet there was little he could do about it. As one of those who knew Black Hair best, Grizzly Bear had actually anticipated this situation long ago.

Black Hair was indeed still that terrifying enemy who would never let go once he seized his opponent’s lifeline…

Inside the massive flying fortress hall, Grizzly Bear let out a deep sigh. He could see that the vast fleet below was likely beyond any hope of assistance.

Ten thousand giant ships—almost the entire wealth of the Moorish Empire—attempting an ambush yet still unable to gain even a slight advantage over Black Hair. Not only that, but they were shattered by his attacks to the point where they could no longer maintain their formations. Grizzly Bear’s heart turned icy. Had he and Black Hair been apart for so long while Black Hair had grown even stronger? Such an attack method was probably beyond what he could have done before.

Indeed, on the surface, the Snake Fangs’ attacks seemed relentless, fierce enough to intimidate anyone. But as a seasoned commander, Grizzly Bear knew well that the trouble likely lay precisely in that recklessness.

A powerful attack could easily break the enemy’s morale, but it also devastated the attackers themselves. There is no such thing as a free lunch in this world. Such brutal attacks necessarily involved risking the lives of the soldiers. Success was one thing, but failure meant losing even what they had invested. Based on Grizzly Bear’s understanding of Black Hair, he would never risk his soldiers’ lives without a clear understanding of the enemy unless it was absolutely necessary. Such behavior was no different from gambling.

However, Grizzly Bear didn’t know that Black Hair had already reached a point of desperation.

Could the Emperor of Moors’ trap be so easily overcome? Not to mention the astronomical amount of energy consumed first in the Eternal Solid Crystal—just the subsequent blinding flames left Black Hair with no way to retreat. All the original mechs lost their strength while maintaining the shield and could not be used immediately. The fate of the entire fleet hinged on this assault; staying in the flames meant certain death anyway. Success might offer a glimmer of hope, but failure meant nothing different for Black Hair.

How could Black Hair fail to notice the formidable array of tens of thousands of Moors’ giant ships? Yet he trusted his subordinates, he trusted the power of the Blood Wolf Warriors!

And in fact, the Blood Wolf Warriors had never disappointed him.

These ragtag forces, originally pirates later joined by members from various factions, had been continuously trained by Black Hair over time and had truly become an invincible unit. Perhaps they lacked the discipline of a regular army, perhaps they weren’t as meticulous as graduates from military academies. But when it came to violence and ferocity, Black Hair had never doubted them.

They were true wolves.

With such a group of wolves led by a wolf king, what could not be done? What could they not dare to do? Not to mention that the Moors Empire currently only had one fleet—even if the entire empire’s armed forces were here, as long as Black Hair wanted it, they would dare to attack!!

So Gray Bear could only force a bitter smile, smiling bitterly amidst the screams and cries all around. Looking at the chaotic fleet below, he completely lost the desire to command.

But this by no means meant he admitted defeat!!

In the great hall of the flying fortress, Gray Bear quietly took out a small object from his hand and fiddled with it. It looked like a toy remote control—small, with two long antennas. On its black casing, there was even a sticker that had worn somewhat white. Yet holding such an object in his hand changed Gray Bear’s demeanor. From his earlier coldness, it turned somewhat solemn. As he stroked the casing of the remote, his hand seemed to be touching the skin of a lover.

After playing with it for a while, Gray Bear finally turned on the switch.

Meanwhile, the two Moorish giant ships in the battlefield outside suddenly broke away from the formation, firing up all their engines like two mad bulls. Their massive hulls, resembling two mountains, charged forward with unparalleled force toward the starry expanse ahead of the formation. The Two Snake Teeth ships immediately wrapped around them, fearing they might block the retreat of the fleet behind. As in previous battles, they easily reached the side of those two Moorish giant ships and raised their long swords.

Suddenly…

“Boom!!!”

Two deafening explosions, like thunderclaps, echoed. Those two Moorish giant ships exploded right before everyone’s eyes. Their shattered hulls and flying flames instantly engulfed the Two Snake Teeth ships. In just an instant, they turned into two huge balls of fire.

In the fierce wind behind, Hei Fa stood up from his seat, his expression instantly changing.

“Self-destruction!?”
