Chapter 50: Unsealing, Section 9

Tong was now extremely anxious. It had been over three hours since Hei Fa’s accident, yet he still had no results. Because of this, Baroka had already argued with him several times. Now, he had sent out all the mechs at his disposal, determined to find Hei Fa as quickly as possible.

To be honest, Xue Tong still felt some regret. If only he hadn’t given up so easily back then.

Whether it was due to excessive confidence in Hei Fa or his habit of completing tasks flawlessly, after receiving Hei Fa’s orders, Xue Tong truly led all the mechs in a thorough search. Not a single guard mech was left behind. Even though Xue Tong was desperate when the accident happened, he arrived too late. By the time they reached the landing site, there was only rubble everywhere along with scattered mech parts. Among those debris, Xue Tong immediately spotted the broken remains of a mech—split in two.

It was Canyang! Xue Tong was shocked. Before he could react, Baroka beside him let out a furious roar. Then, Xue Tong saw something even more terrifying.

It was a massive, writhing mass of flesh.

By God, in all his lifetime, Xue Tong had never seen anything so disgusting. Its purpleish surface was covered with veins, writhing like a giant flesh worm. Thick, viscous liquid dripped from it, spreading a strong stench on the ground. Visibly, holes began to form in the ground where the liquid landed. Several soldiers couldn’t help but vomit upon seeing it.

Xue Tong also wanted to vomit, but he couldn’t. Because within that huge, disgusting mass of flesh, he was horrified to spot a fragment of pitch-black armor.

It was a fragment from the Killing Emperor!!

Realizing this, Xue Tong’s face turned deathly pale. He quickly ordered his subordinates to examine that massive flesh mass. But something even more terrifying happened. Every mech that tried to approach it was attacked without exception. Tiny muscle fibers detached from the flesh mass and shot at them like bullets. Where they hit, thin trails of smoke appeared immediately, and the surface armor melted rapidly.

“That’s nuclear tissue! Get out of the mechs!!”

Seeing this terrifying scene, it was Baroka who reacted first. He suddenly shouted. Hearing his warning, the attacked warriors frantically left their mechs, barely escaping disaster. As soon as they got away, the original mechs collapsed to the ground with a loud crash, and large amounts of muscle tissue poured out from the melted holes on their surfaces. Soon, they turned into huge masses of flesh just like the main body. At the same time, a grating chewing sound filled the air.
“They’re eating the mechs…” Bloodpupil’s face turned pale, and he finally vomited. A terrifying feeling overwhelmed him as he felt fear for the first time.
It took a full thirty seconds for Bloodpupil to recover from the intense vomiting. His first words after standing up were, “Use the decomposer.”
Hearing this, Baroka immediately flew into a rage. “Use the decomposer? Can’t you see that’s the Killing Emperor? What if it’s still inside? Using the decomposer—do you want to kill it too?”
“Idiot! What else can we do if we don’t use the decomposer? Can you even get close? That’s nuclear tissue. Do you want all our brothers to be eaten by it?” Bloodpupil roared in retaliation to Baroka. “How can you still not see it at this point? The Killing Emperor has already been eaten. But the cockpit of its head is made of special materials and should be able to survive in the nuclear digestive fluid. The sooner we use the decomposer, the better chance we have of seeing it. If we act fast, we might even be able to see the head!”
“But it might also destroy the head along with it!” Baroka retorted. He knew that the decomposer was the last resort given to them by the Black Prison faction—meant to be used during a cellular uprising. This secretly developed agent hadn’t been approved by the nucleus, but it had a powerful effect on breaking down the cellular tissue of wanderers. Generally, each warrior kept a supply of it as a last line of defense against being consumed by the rebellious cellular tissue. After all, on the battlefield, no one could guarantee that these powerful cellular tissues wouldn’t grow hungry. If consumed, it would be a fate worse than death.
However, as Baroka said, the decomposer also had side effects.

It was because, from the very moment of research, the target had been the Wandering Cell. Thus, this decomposing agent possessed unprecedented corrosiveness—so strong that its corrosive effect was even three times worse than that of the Wandering Cell’s digestive juices. Even when stored, it had to be kept in specially developed high-strength coated ceramics. Once used, no one could guarantee absolute safety.

After all, the mech cockpit itself wasn’t indestructible. Despite various enhancements, whether it could withstand such intense corrosion remained uncertain.

That’s why Baroka was so sensitive to Blood Pupil’s orders, to the point of turning against her on the spot. However, after being rebutted by Blood Pupil, he realized the urgency of the situation and ultimately agreed with her view. He then led the remaining members elsewhere, where dozens of mechs were already working frantically to carry out rescue efforts.

Watching his back, Blood Pupil could only force a bitter smile before giving orders. Three engineering mechs immediately left the group, each extending a nozzle from which a stream of greenish liquid was sprayed violently at those large fleshy masses. Visibly, green smoke rose instantly, and a burnt smell filled the air. Where the liquid washed over, the flesh tissue of the Wandering Clan melted rapidly.

Seeing this, almost all the Blood Wolf warriors paled and instinctively turned away. After all, the Wandering Clan members were their friends and comrades. Although these cells had lost consciousness, watching them melt was still painful. No one wanted to witness their final tragic fate.

Yet, though they felt sympathy, orders still had to be carried out. If they didn’t eliminate these terrifying cell tissues, they wouldn’t be able to find the leader’s trace. So, despite their reluctance, the warriors carried out their task thoroughly. The powerful decomposing agent was continuously sprayed onto those large fleshy masses, rapidly breaking down their structure.

Meanwhile, Blood Pupil heard Baroka’s anxious call.

“What’s wrong?” Hearing Baroka’s urgent voice, Blood Pupil ignored the scene of decomposition and rushed over to him. As soon as she stopped, she saw a tattered strip-like object, causing her expression to change drastically.

“This is…”

“The monkey’s cockpit…” Baroka spoke slowly beside her, his voice hoarse. “I saw it as soon as I arrived. Our warriors pulled it out from among the wreckage, but we can’t open it.”

“What are we waiting for? Cut it now!” Blood Pup became anxious immediately. Among his several capable subordinates with black hair, he had the best relationship with Monkey. Seeing Monkey’s cockpit right in front of him yet unable to open it, he even felt the urge to kill someone.
However, in the face of his urgency, Baroka seemed to calm down. He pointed at that strip-shaped object.
“Don’t rush. Take a closer look.”
“What more is there to see? Hurry up…” Blood Pup’s voice suddenly stopped. His gaze fixed on a part of Monkey’s cockpit.
Right in the middle of that strip-shaped object was the driver’s seat. A deep indentation came into view through Blood Pup’s eyes. It was extremely long, almost spanning the entire cockpit. Due to this indentation, the entire cockpit appeared distorted, no longer in its standard oval shape.
“No… It can’t be…” Seeing that indentation, Blood Pup felt all his strength drain away. He collapsed instantly.
As an experienced technician, he naturally knew what that indentation meant. Simply put, it was the most critical part of the cockpit. If that area was damaged, the driver inside would surely suffer unimaginable shocks. Even with multiple protections, injury was inevitable.
But the problem was that this was already the most optimistic assessment. The indentation seen now was clearly beyond what normal combat could cause. It was so severe that it had distorted the entire cockpit, indicating just how great the pressure must have been. Under such intense pressure, the driver inside…
Shaking his head desperately, Blood Pup didn’t dare think further. He also understood why Baroka couldn’t act.
It was because of that indentation!!
Its location was too critical—it wasn’t only the driver’s seat but also where the escape hatch was. Under such immense pressure, the control system inside must have been severely damaged. It might even be on the verge of collapse. It was like a cracked egg, held together only by its inner membrane. Once opened, it could collapse in an instant. If the driver relied on that system to survive, collapse would mean losing their life.
In short, attempting a rescue under such circumstances would be murder!
Suddenly, the atmosphere around became tense. Everyone stared at Blood Pup’s mech, waiting for his final decision. On the public channel, heavy breathing could be heard clearly. Even the air seemed to freeze.

In such a tense environment, time seemed to pass like a snail. Finally, just as Baroka was starting to lose patience, the hoarse voice of Blood Pup appeared on the public channel again.
“I understand, Baroka. Let’s do this. If anything goes wrong… I’ll take responsibility.”
