Chapter 27: New Nobles – Section 6
With a short stature and green skin, standing behind the black-haired man was a creature that resembled a goblin from a movie. Yet it had long, pointed ears—ears that accounted for a full 30% of its body size. At first glance, it seemed utterly out of place.
“Who are you?” the black-haired man asked in a focused tone.
The goblin performed a graceful bow, placing a hand over its chest. “I am Sharo of the Quints, at your service.”
“The Quints?”
“Yes. Just like you, Lord Beck. We both belong to the lower classes of this society. Only you Poles have a keen sense for business and can make a living through trade. As for us Quints, we can only sell our bodies.” A faint smile appeared on Sharo’s gaunt face, but there was no trace of inferiority—as if selling one’s body was as natural as breathing.
Seeing this, the black-haired man felt a slight shock. Such composure… it seemed beyond what an ordinary person could possess. Who exactly was this Sharo, claiming to be from the Quints?
Though he pondered this, the black-haired man didn’t show it. He smiled calmly, as if meeting an old friend, pulled up a chair for Sharo, and gestured for him to sit.
“Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Sharo. The moonlight tonight is truly enchanting. I’m sure your business will be good.”
“Maybe. That’s why I’m in the mood to have a drink here and see if I can find any new clients,” Sharo said nonchalantly, shrugging. He seemed unbothered by the black-haired man’s enthusiasm and casually sat down in the chair offered to him. Then he tapped the bar with his finger.
“Boss, a Dream Amethyst—30% concentration.”
The exquisite drink was quickly prepared by the bartender. Sharo took it without expression, sipping the crystal-clear purple liquid that seemed shrouded in mist. He closed his eyes for a long time before finally exhaling deeply. “Though this place is a bit shabby, the liquor is really good. I doubt anywhere else in the Seven-Six Star Station can offer this Dream Amethyst. It’s funny—such a beautiful drink, yet who would have thought its real ingredient is a powerful hallucinogen?”
After saying that, Sharo glanced sideways at Bloodpupil and the others lying on the bar, his face revealing clear disdain. “But no matter how good the wine is, overindulgence can lead to disaster. Lord Beck, it seems you don’t pay much attention to your subordinates.”
“If a warrior can’t even control his own actions, I really can’t see any reason why he should be considered strong.” Black Hair glanced at his companion and smiled lightly. “I believe they are all the best warriors.”
“Is that so? I’m really envious of your trust in your subordinates.” Sharo shrugged indifferently, clearly expressing strong skepticism. “But as far as I know, Fallen Angel is the most powerful hallucinogen in this bar. And it’s very mild at first. Ordinary people can’t detect its effects at all. In the past, many famous warriors have fallen for it. Eventually, they all became pitiful creatures who needed this hallucinogen to survive.”
“If that’s the case, I’ll end their suffering with my own hands,” Black Hair interrupted Sharo with a smile. Though it was a cruel statement, it came out as natural as breathing, making Sharo shiver inwardly.
This Beck is indeed as rumored—a very domineering person. With such an attitude toward life as if it were worthless, his past must have been full of hardships. A person like him must have an extremely strong will.
Not easy to deal with…
Sharo pondered, sipping the Dream Purple Crystal one after another. Before he knew it, he had drunk most of it. Seeing his still confused expression, Black Hair smiled inwardly.
Actually, he knew very well that Sharo had come to test him. First, he used frightening words to intimidate him, then took advantage of his eagerness for help. On his own planet, such tactics were only used by low-level scammers who cheated old ladies. Come on, what era is it now? If you want to play tricks, can’t you use something new? It’s so boring.
Though he thought this, Black Hair wasn’t stupid enough to remind him. He simply changed the subject casually.
“By the way, Mr. Sharo. What brings you to see me?”
“Ah! Of course… Lord Beck.” The little dwarf jolted and quickly regained his composure, showing a hint of annoyance—clearly dissatisfied and puzzled by his slow reaction. When he saw his glass was already empty, he let out another exclamation.
No wonder. After drinking such a large amount of Dream Purple Crystal at once, it would be strange if he remained as sensitive as before. Like Fallen Angel, Dream Purple Crystal is also one of the strongest hallucinogens. Sharo’s expression darkened as he deeply regretted his abnormal behavior.
“Actually, it’s nothing serious. I just happened to see Lord Beck and wanted to get to know you. After all, you’re not one of those aloof Moors. As someone from a subordinate race, I think you should understand our hardships better. And most importantly, I’ve heard that your subordinates are all excellent warriors. And the best warriors surely need the most beautiful and gentle women by their side. I’m not boasting—on Star Seven Six, I doubt there’s anyone better than me in this regard. Whenever your subordinates need one, I can find them the most suitable temporary companion at any time. Whether you need a lady of refined grace or a sweet and lovely girl, I can arrange it for you.”
Spitting out such a long speech in one go, even Black Hair couldn’t help but admire Sharo’s eloquence. Seeing the little dwarf remain calm and unhurried, he couldn’t help but give him a thumbs up.
“You’re truly talented.”
“Thank you. It’s an honor for the Quintans to serve Lord Beck,” Sharo accepted Black Hair’s praise with modesty.
Yet, compared to his enthusiasm, Black Hair seemed uninterested.
Indeed, for a normal man who spent his days drifting through space, he certainly needed the comfort of the opposite sex. His crew members were also strong and fierce men, so their desire for the opposite sex was undoubtedly strong. But the problem was—wasn’t Sharo too full of himself? With his race’s appearance, could there really be attractive women? Come on.
Women who were only three feet tall, with green skin and oversized ears accounting for 30% of their body size—if such women were liked by his subordinates, well, Black Hair would surely think he was crazy, or that the whole world was crazy.
Three years in the army—still just a metaphor. How could it be taken as truth?
But Black Hair didn’t know how proud Sharo was when he said those words.
The Quintans were an anomaly within the Moor Empire—not just because of their rebel groups, but also due to the uniqueness of their race. In fact, if the Moor Empire held a beauty contest, if a Quintan woman came in second, no one would dare claim first place!!
Because in their race, men and women looked completely different.
Just as in contrast to the unsightly appearance of the Quint men, the Quint women are all top-notch beauties—by human standards at that. Their skin is as white as snow, their figures tall and model-like, with slender waists and features that seem painted, leaving anyone who sees them in awe and unforgettable.
Unfortunately, such beautiful women are not easily accessible. As Sharo himself explained, the Quint people make a living by selling their bodies, but they are selective about whom they sell to. In fact, aside from those who hold high positions or are wealthy, it’s nearly impossible to get close to a Quint beauty. The Quint people know well how to protect their racial advantages. Any attempt to violate a woman from their tribe without her consent will result in a fierce retaliation.
For the Quint women, they are not just symbols but also strategic assets. The Quint people’s rapid growth within the Moor Empire is closely tied to their effective use of beauty as a weapon. Of course, this is an exception for some tribes with unique aesthetic standards.
But Hei Ba was pretending to be a Bor, and the Bor do not fall under those unique aesthetic categories. So Sharo was confident that his proposal would interest Hei Ba, and a satisfied smile naturally appeared on his face. If the other party was worth the effort, then he would use his tribe’s most powerful weapon to win them over—turning this new noble into one of the most loyal allies for Shi Shen. He was sure he would be rewarded for this. His smile grew even wider.
Unfortunately, he didn’t know that Hei Ba wasn’t a true Bor, and his knowledge of the Moor Empire was limited to intelligence reports. Of course, he had no idea about the unique traits of the Quint people. So he had little interest in such a proposal. With an indifferent glance, Hei Ba took a sip of Fallen Angel.
“Mr. Sharo, this is our first meeting, right?”
“Yes, Lady Beck. Yet I’ve long admired you from afar. Your rise has become a legend among all our allied tribes. We’re all willing to serve you,” Sharo said, subtly flattering Hei Ba.
“Oh, I see…” The dark-haired man pondered for a moment, though it was merely for show. After a short while, he reached out and patted Saro’s slender shoulder. “I appreciate your kindness. But my subordinates have just completed a mission and what they need is rest, not indulgence. How about skipping this time?”
“Huh!?” Saro was stunned. He hurriedly tried to explain, but before he could, a melodious female voice rang out beside the bar.
“Why? Is it because our appearance isn’t to your liking, Lord Baker?”
