Chapter 3: The Heart of a Thug – Section 1
Mech.
Without a doubt, only a mech could possess such a massive size. And it was a mech with black hair that seemed familiar. Its silver exterior was covered with golden decorations, resembling a classical European knight’s armor that fully encased it. It stood about ten meters tall, with a black shield pattern on each of its two huge shoulder plates. Its head took the shape of a knight’s helmet; its right hand held a giant shield, while its left hand grasped a stick about one meter long.
The figure before everyone was none other than the silver knight used by the instructor—Black Hair’s first opponent in the mental network!!
“Oh no, save us…”
“God, don’t come any closer!!”
Seeing this enormous mech, almost all the scavengers lost their courage. The warehouse was filled with chaos as people panicked. Some even rushed recklessly in front of those three big men, only to be grabbed and thrown aside.
The entire warehouse was plunged into extreme panic.
Only Black Hair remained silent. He didn’t move at all, not even showing any change in expression. His face still wore a calm, gentle smile.
“Is that it?” Black Hair slightly raised his head, meeting the taunting gaze of Bullman, and asked softly.
“Nonsense!! That’s exactly what happens to trash like you!! I’m being polite by even talking to you. Don’t even think about who you’re dealing with. Kid, I advise you to stop resisting. Now, it’s the Warrior Association that rules Kuukare Town. Even the guards have to obey.” Bullman puffed out his chest and grinned.
“But since you seem to have some skills, if you listen to me, I might assign you a task later. It’s better than scraping by with that old bastard,Buick.”
This Bullman was indeed a key figure. Though he appeared rough, he was actually quite cunning. In just a few minutes, he had used almost every tactic of intimidation and bribery. If Black Hair hadn’t originally come from another world, he might have fallen for it and joined that renowned Warrior Association.
Unfortunately, if he had known Black Hair’s temper and deeds on Earth, he wouldn’t have done this.
“Bang!”
Too lazy to even answer. Black Hair turned around instantly, delivering a straight kick to the chest that sent the Buick-driving man flying. It was impossible to tell where he landed from such a distance. Without even turning back, he simply stepped forward at high speed and arrived in front of the Bull in an instant. His iron leg drew a beautiful half-moon arc like a blade, cutting downward with fierce force.
A genetically enhanced physique indeed had unparalleled advantages. Although only Black Hair’s left arm was fully modified, the strength of his legs was equally astonishing. The Bull never expected that this young man with black hair would dare to launch an attack under such circumstances, let alone one so powerful.
“Crack!”
His arms, hastily raised in front of him, made first contact with Black Hair’s iron leg. Yet they failed to provide even the most basic protection, being completely severed with a crisp sound of bone breaking. Immediately afterward, Black Hair twisted his body, slightly altering the angle of his leg from lifting to slashing downward, bringing it down with a sharp wind-like sound. His heel pierced straight through the Bull’s open chest.
With a dull thud, the Bull’s massive body was sent flying like a cannonball, propelled by Black Hair’s overwhelming strength. A piercing scream erupted, shocking everyone around. By the time he stopped hundreds of meters away, he was completely buried in the wall, with a deep indentation in his chest that was truly horrifying. Blood flowed from his mouth and nose, and he had already lost consciousness.
It was a brief moment, but Black Hair’s attacks were extremely efficient. Before the other two henchmen could react, their leader had already been taken care of by him.
No one could have imagined that this seemingly gentle gentleman would be so brutal in battle. Worse still, he didn’t even say a word throughout the whole thing—just attacked silently with extreme cruelty.
For a moment, there was a brief silence in the warehouse. Even the silver mech that was trying to break in paused slightly.
Unfortunately, their shock couldn’t change their fate.
Bend down, spin around.
A violent gust of wind swept through, and Black Hair didn’t even pause for a moment—immediately delivering a precise leg sweep that knocked the remaining two burly men to the ground. Leaning forward, he moved his hands together and apart, and a narrow, sharp spike appeared in his hands. In a flash of black light, he shot backward as if equipped with springs.
At that spot, the two burly men had already stopped breathing—each with a clear, tiny hole in their temple from which white-and-red liquid continued to flow.
One encounter, three lives lost.
Since appearing in the desert, this was the first time Black Hair had demonstrated his combat skills in front of others—but it left everyone deeply impressed.
Speed, strength, technique, mindset—each reflected a person’s true ability. Watching Black Hair effortlessly kill three men far stronger than himself, all while smiling, sent chills down anyone’s spine. The scavengers around him scattered in panic.
His agility was far beyond that of a human; his speed was astonishing. In just a few breaths, he reached the modified mech parked in the warehouse and climbed aboard using both hands and feet, then slipped into the cockpit.
“Click.” The cockpit door locked shut…
“Thug!! You monster!!”
The silver mech that had broken in finally reacted. After witnessing its local leader being slaughtered by Black Hair, the mercenary inside could no longer contain his fury. His loud roar echoed throughout the space through the speakers. The massive figure accelerated suddenly, raising his right hand, and the rod-like object in it emitted a thick, purplish-red beam of light.
A lightsaber.
An energy lightsaber…
