Chapter 5: Planning to Take Control of Capital Star (Part 1)

Wang Dayang narrowed his eyes and asked, “Who are those? How dare they enter the battlefield?”
Guo Shier smiled and said, “Maybe they’re here for negotiations?”
Li Ran replied, “Not necessarily. It could be a private spaceship… passing by?”
It was a small spaceship, not moving very fast. It stopped at a distance from the space battlefield, and a group of people emerged from it. Qi Wu Zhen said calmly, “So they finally sent experts. Hmm, there are twelve of them…”
Guo Shier quickly cast a vision-enhancing spell on himself to observe carefully, while also using his soul fluctuations to probe the situation. He said, “They must be experts hired by the United Spirit Kingdom… or perhaps guardians raised by them? Hehe, Brother Li Ran, Sister Zhen, they’re coming over.”
The twelve people flying in the air merely watched the battlefield from afar. After flying a short distance, they turned around and returned to their spaceship.
Everyone was puzzled. Guo Shier wondered, “Huh? They went back? What does that mean?”
Li Ran replied calmly, “They were scared away!”
The others were speechless. Even from afar, they could sense their panic through the feedback of their soul fluctuations. Ku Mu said, “Their strength is average. They don’t have the prowess of Xing Yunzi.”
Indeed, those experts from the Secret Clan were scared away. They got off their spaceship, took a quick look at the battlefield, and fled in terror. In that area of space, countless damaged starships floated around, along with numerous soldiers and shattered attack drones. Although many armed soldiers could still be seen scurrying around, they knew that this massive fleet was completely destroyed.
It was terrifying—so many starships and soldiers had been destroyed. They couldn’t imagine what kind of monster the United Spirit Kingdom had encountered. This huge fleet, with millions of soldiers and nearly 1,700 starships of various sizes, had had more than half of it destroyed by just seven people. The remaining small portion lost its power and became floating coffins in space. Such astonishing combat strength was beyond their ability to confront.
If the fleet had continued to resist, they might still have had some fighting spirit. But with such a large fleet destroyed by just seven people, they completely lost confidence and quickly turned to flee, never daring to approach again.

Li Ran and the others were also exhausted. Continuous combat had drained a great deal of the altar’s energy as well as much of their spiritual essence, despite their efforts to conserve it by using it only when necessary. Guo Shier made use of the sealed Void Worms as much as possible, using tens of thousands of them in this battle.

Especially when dealing with a fleeing heavy-class mothership, he used nearly 700 Void Worms at once, reducing the heavy ship to tatters with massive holes all over its hull before finally disabling its power system.

As for the warriors clad in Starlight Armor, almost no one paid them any attention. Those warriors and attack drones didn’t dare approach the seven of them and only scurried around in space. With no way to escape and too afraid to attack—since an attack would be futile and invite retaliation—they dared not strike at will. If any one of the seven retaliated, many would die, not just a few, so those warriors hesitated to attack.

By the end, most of the starships were destroyed, and some were disabled. Those warriors had no choice but to return to the disabled ships, as they couldn’t escape, and the energy from their Starlight Armor wasn’t enough to take them back to a planet. They were at the edge of the star system where the capital planet lay, far from any planet, and the energy from their armor was insufficient. At this point, they could only pray in their hearts that these seven killing gods would leave soon so they might have a chance to survive.

Only after the seven left could they try to repair some of the starships, perhaps gaining a chance to leave. Heavy and large starships had backup small ships that could carry some people away.

The fleet kept sending out distress signals, and the survivors desperately sent pleas for help to the United Spirit Kingdom, but no more starships arrived.

Li Ran watched the fleeing ships and sighed, saying, “Forget it. After destroying this fleet, I guess the United Spirit Kingdom won’t send another large fleet for a while. From now on, we’ll likely face mostly Secret Clan experts or other powerful figures. Let’s rest for now.”

Guo Shier said with a bitter smile, “Though we won cleanly, in reality… if another large fleet came, we wouldn’t be able to fight again.”

Kumu said, “Hurry up and rest.”

Li Ran said, “Come on, let’s rest on this ship. Hehe, there should still be quite a few people on it.”

Wang Dayang asked, “Should we eliminate them?”

Guo Shier smiled and said, “No need. They’re just ordinary people. Let me do it.” He quickly found a passage and flew in, instantly turning the interior of the starship into chaos. They had successfully terrified everyone on the fleet; no one dared face them. As Guo Shier passed by, the warriors turned pale and trembled violently.

The Soul Suppressing Cauldron was flown out, and Guo Shier slapped it with his hand, sending out a wave of shock that ignored the metal walls and spread instantly. The still-shaking warriors immediately collapsed, slipping to the ground and falling into a deep coma.

It only took a few minutes for Guo Shier to fly through the entire ship, and not a single person was left awake.

Upon entering the command cabin, Guo Shier raised his hand, and over a dozen purple chains bound the unconscious officers before throwing them into the passage. The others followed in. Li Ran said, “This is good. Hehe, we can see outside.” The outside was in disarray, but movements outside could be seen clearly. It was a heavy-duty starship with almost 360-degree visibility, offering not only a ground view but also three-dimensional scans of the surrounding space.

Guo Shier sat cross-legged and asked, “Who’s on duty?”

Monier and Celine replied in unison, “I’ll do it!”

Li Ran said, “Good. You two take turns, and then it’s my turn.”

Celine rushed to say, “Let me do it first. Hehe, I’ve always been taken care of by Shier, so basically… I haven’t worked hard at all.”

Without further ado, everyone sat cross-legged, summoned their altars, placed them on their heads, and began to recover. The first thing everyone did after sitting down was to silently recite scriptures to restore and purify their souls—a habit that had become standard for the team.

Guo Shier was no exception; he also began to recite. This was crucial for restoring and strengthening the soul, as well as for reincarnation, so he dared not slack off. After reciting for an hour straight, Guo Shier fell asleep. Sleep was also an excellent way to restore the soul, sometimes even more effective than the soul scriptures. Before long, Guo Shier was snoring. With his snoring, everyone else also fell asleep.

They slept for three days, during which some soldiers entered the starship and were killed by Celine and Monier together.

When they woke up, everyone was full of energy, their exhausted souls restored. Li Ran asked Wang Dayang, who was on duty, “Dayang, on the last day, was there any change?”

Wang Dayang smiled and said, “No one’s coming. But one starship has escaped. I wonder what they used to repair it. Hehe, I’m too lazy to chase after them.”
Li Ran nodded and said, “Hmm, whatever. They’re no longer a threat.”
Guo Shier said, “There should be small spacecraft on that starship. We can use them…”
Li Ran asked, “Can you pilot them?”
Guo Shier replied, “I can’t pilot them, but someone else can. We just need to catch a few people.” He walked outside the command cabin, where there was a group of unconscious officers. He activated the Soul Calming Cauldron, emitting a shockwave that immediately sorted out the chaotic souls of those officers, causing them to wake up one by one. When they saw Guo Shier before them, they turned pale in fear, thinking they were doomed.
Guo Shier asked calmly, “Who can pilot the spacecraft on the starship?”
The officers looked at each other, not understanding what Guo Shier meant. One of them, being more clever, quickly said, “I can pilot it!”
His words made the other two officers realize as well, and they immediately said, “We can too!”
Guo Shier asked, “How many people are needed to pilot a small spacecraft at the least?”
The officer replied, “Four people.”
Guo Shier nodded and asked, “For the last spot, who can pilot it?”
The officer hurriedly said, “He can. Come here quickly.” He pulled someone over and dragged them to his side, then stared at Guo Shier expectantly.
Guo Shier nodded and said, “Good. It’s just the four of you…” With a snap of his fingers, the others collapsed to the ground, their souls remaining chaotic. The four who stood up breathed a sigh of relief, knowing they were alive for now.
Taking the four with him into the command cabin, Guo Shier said, “Elder brother, these four can pilot. Hmm…” He turned and asked, “Can the spacecraft on your starship reach the Capital Star from here?”
The officer replied honestly, “No…”
Kumu asked, “Why not?”
The officer gave a bitter smile and said, “The spacecraft can’t carry enough energy, so it can’t reach the Capital Star.”
Guo Shier asked, “If there’s enough energy, can it reach the Capital Star?”
