Chapter 9: Masters of the Hidden Clan (Part 2)
The defenses of the Secret Clan’s warehouse were rather weak, and Li Ran easily broke through them.
It was a small warehouse, just a room of about thirty square meters, filled with spirit jade and blue crystals. The room was mostly filled with spirit jade. Li Ran and his group were very disappointed; they had hoped to find some special materials and were no longer interested in spirit jade or blue crystals.
This time, Bu Ruobugong also got a share of spirit jade and blue crystals, which delighted him greatly. Li Ran also gave him a talisman bag, as this guy kept using large bags to carry things—Guo Shier’s talisman bag was already full.
As soon as the eight of them left the warehouse, they saw two people hovering two meters above the ground. One of them said calmly, “This is our family’s property. If you dare steal it, be prepared to die!”
Li Ran and his group slowly rose into the air.
The expressions of the two men turned serious immediately. The fact that they could fly, and all eight of them could fly, meant these eight people were no less powerful than them. They began to worry—fighting four against one wasn’t easy; they might not even catch their opponents and instead get killed themselves. Both were smart people, and realizing the situation was unfavorable, they immediately retreated.
Guo Shier asked, “Which Secret Clan do you belong to? What’s your name?”
Both men were middle-aged and dressed plainly, in the common attire of Liewen Star, making them unremarkable in a crowd. They were ordinary experts sent by the Secret Clan to Lucheng. One of them stepped forward and said, “We are from the Sheya family. This is the Sheya family’s warehouse. My name is Sheya Jita.”
The other one said, “Sheya Bana.”
Sheya Jita asked, “May I ask which Secret Clan you belong to?”
Guo Shier replied instinctively, “Sheya family? I’ve never heard of it…” It would be strange if he had heard of it.
The two experts from the Sheya family weren’t angry, because although the Sheya family was part of the Secret Clan, it was a small clan that could only rely on a seventh-level star nation, far inferior to those from eighth-level star nations. The presence of those eight people was terrifying—they clearly weren’t ordinary experts, so Sheya Jita and the other didn’t dare be reckless.
“We are from the Talisman Clan! The Hidden Clan! As for our names, you don’t need to know them!”
Guo Shier casually came up with a name for his clan. As for whether they truly belonged to the Hidden Clan, he didn’t care—any name would give them a sense of mystery.
Ceciline almost laughed out loud. A Spellcaster? What kind of name is that? Are the Hidden Ones even more powerful than the Secret Ones?
Butorubugon, on the other hand, suddenly understood. So these people were all from the Hidden Ones—no wonder they possessed such great magical powers. It made sense now. He guessed that the Hidden Ones they belonged to must be an extremely powerful group. The Hidden Ones were an ancient clan even more mysterious than the Secret Ones. Usually, few masters from the Hidden Ones appeared, but once one did, they were terrifying.
Sheyajita and Sheyabana showed fearful expressions. They remembered a legend: it was said that the Hidden Ones never showed themselves, and once they did and revealed their identity, those who heard it almost never survived. The Hidden Ones hated revealing their identity; otherwise, they wouldn’t be called the Hidden Ones.
Sheyajita and Sheyabana exchanged glances, seeing fear in each other’s eyes, and slowly stepped back.
Guo Shier said indifferently, “What? Want to leave?”
The two continued to retreat slowly, staying alert for Guo Shier’s attack. When they reached the corner of the house, they suddenly threw a red object. A blinding light flashed, and they vanished instantly.
Guo Shier was taken aback and said, “Huh? They ran away?”
Li Ran laughed. “You scared them away. Hehe, using the name of the Hidden Ones? You probably don’t know what the Hidden Ones mean, do you? They no longer have the courage to take back their belongings.”
Guo Shier was relieved. It was better if they ran away—he didn’t want to fight them. He had a feeling that if a fight started, those two wouldn’t be his match at all. If they weren’t evenly matched, fighting would be pointless for him.
Butorubugon was a bit puzzled. He couldn’t help asking, “You… are you really from the Hidden Ones?” He had thought these people were masters of the Secret Ones, not realizing they were the even more mysterious Hidden Ones.
Guo Shier replied with a smile, “What do you think?”
Butorubugon immediately stopped talking, not daring to ask further. If the other party turned hostile, he would be greatly wronged. He lowered his head, looking at the ground, his expression becoming even more respectful.
Guo Shier shook his head. He hadn’t expected the Hidden Ones to hold such a high status in the eyes of these masters. That was also because these people were strong enough; otherwise, no one would believe it.
After escaping using secret methods, Sheyajita and Sheyabana quickly arrived at a secret hideout and entered swiftly. Sheyajita said, “Bana, this is troublesome. Our valuables were stolen by the Hidden Clan. We… can only report this to higher authorities. Sigh, we’re definitely going to be punished this time…”
Sheyabana gave a bitter smile and said, “What can we do? Fight them to the death? There are eight of them, and from what I observed, at least seven are stronger than us. Wait, that’s not right… I seem to have seen the weakest one before…”
Sheyajita said, “That weakest one? Hmm, I also have a vague memory. That person seems to be from the Hidden Clan… No, not from them. I remember seeing them somewhere… Ah, it must be on Leiwén Star, not elsewhere. Let’s search…” He accessed his personal database and began searching carefully. After a moment, he said, “Found it! His name is Bu Ruobugong! He’s an ordinary expert hired by the government, and his strength is inferior to ours!”
Sheyabana said, “Jita, this person must be a spy for the Hidden Clan… or…”
Sheyajita continued, “Or he might be forced… No, didn’t you notice Bu Ruobugong’s expression? Yeah! It’s one of joy and excitement, not the look of someone who’s been captured or forced.”
Sheyabana said with a bitter smile, “We should still report this and let higher authorities deal with it. We just need to follow orders.”
Sheyajita said, “There’s news coming in!” He opened a screen, and a large amount of information appeared. The two read it carefully.
In no time, their expressions changed. Sheyajita exclaimed in shock, “Good heavens… It’s these people, seven of them! They actually destroyed two starship fleets, including a heavy-class flagship… This… this truly shows they’re experts from the Hidden Clan. I wondered why the United Spirit Kingdom would go and provoke such terrifying experts…”
Sheyabana said, “That’s not all… They also destroyed Leiwén Star’s biggest space defense fortress, forcing thousands of retreating soldiers to enter the planet. No wonder the entire planet is in chaos.”
Sheyajita said, “This is no longer a problem we can solve. Thankfully… thankfully we escaped quickly, and their hostility isn’t that strong.”
Both were terrified but also secretly relieved that they had been wise enough not to recklessly charge in. If they had fought them head-on, neither of them would likely be alive now. Those who could fight in space and easily destroy starships were by no means someone they could withstand.
The message was sent quickly. The two of them conveyed an important message: those seven were experts from the Hidden Clan. This news immediately caused chaos among the high-ranking officials of the United Spirit Kingdom and various secret clans. The emergence of the Hidden Clan was an utterly shocking revelation.
The message sent by the Sheya family relieved Sheya Jita and Sheya Bana. Even if a warehouse was robbed, it depended on who the robbers were. If ordinary people stole from it and the two did nothing, they would definitely be punished. But if it was experts from the Hidden Clan, it was no longer their problem.
The family’s task for the two of them was to keep an eye on those seven and strictly avoid any conflicts. As for the items stolen from the warehouse, the family didn’t even mention them.
The world was just that realistic. The two secret clan experts sighed briefly before leaving the room to search for these so-called Hidden Clan experts.
……
Guo Shier asked, “Should we leave now?”
Li Ran replied, “We can’t leave. If we do now, they’ll chase us all the way, and we’d have to fight our way out. Well, I think we should wait for the experts from the United Spirit Kingdom to surround them and leave a deep impression on them—maybe that way we can get rid of them.”
Guo Shier said, “It’s best to check out what the United Spirit Kingdom has planned in recent days so we can be prepared.”
Qi Wuzhen asked, “The whole planet is in chaos. How can they find us?”
Li Ran smiled and said, “You don’t know how advanced communication here is. If they want to find us… hehe, as long as we don’t hide, they can locate us… Of course, they wouldn’t dare use starships to attack, as that would destroy the entire Liewen Star and might not even work. So they can only send experts to surround us—armies and such… are useless against us.”
The eight of them walked while talking, striding confidently along the road. Now all the scattered soldiers knew about these people. Seeing them from afar, they immediately took cover, and no one dared to attack anymore.
Sericeline often rushed into shops along the street. She loved novel things and would bring them out for everyone to play with—such as strange machines, odd costumes, and ornaments she had never seen before.
Guo Shier also became interested, and the two of them kept wandering through various shops. Since no one was watching, they could take whatever they wanted. Especially with Guo Shier’s altar space, once he started grabbing things, it was like an army of locusts sweeping everything away.
Later, Monier joined them as well, and the three of them happily started collecting everything they could find. Guo Shier couldn’t help but think that things that cost nothing were indeed the best; he felt like a natural robber. Li Ran found an instrument in a shop. As soon as he turned it on and began searching, messages started pouring in. After looking at them for a while, he laughed and said, “Wow, Liewen Star has been completely blocked off. The United Spirit Kingdom intends to keep us here. Haha, interesting.” Everyone gathered around to check the messages. Guo Shier said with a smile, “Well, three fleets have already arrived, and more are on their way. Don’t they realize that no matter how many fleets they send, it won’t help if we decide to leave?” Suddenly, Qi Wu Zhen shouted, “Come out! Sneaking behind us… what do you want?”
