Chapter 2: Revenge (Part 2)

Boom!
The collision of that magnificent and enormous body sent tremors through the entire canyon, with huge rocks falling from above. Rocks over ten meters high crashed down with a thunderous roar, but upon hitting that magnificent body, they were instantly bounced away. That magnificent being charged upward frantically, while the Trap Array emitted a dazzling light, suppressing those massive forces.

Ezek gritted his teeth. After hesitating for a moment, he quickly reverted to his original form. He didn’t want to watch his wife fight desperately while he hid aside. With a roar, he charged forward alongside her.

The surviving members of the Beast Tamer tribe were terrified. They might have thought Li Ran and the others were extremely powerful, and they still harbored a glimmer of hope that they could escape. But against super spiritual beasts, they felt an innate fear. As Beast Tamer tribesmen, they knew well about spiritual beasts and understood the consequences of two super spiritual beasts going berserk.

Chaos reigned at the scene. The surviving Beast Tamer tribesmen tried to flee, but they found that fewer and fewer of their companions remained—their entire group was collapsing. Those with flying spiritual beasts rode them desperately to escape, but those with land-based beasts had no chance of escaping in the mountainous canyons.

Li Ran’s team moved swiftly, fighting fiercely. Aside from a few lucky ones, almost all the Beast Tamer tribesmen were slaughtered. It was then that Li Ran realized something was wrong. He shouted, “Catch a few alive! Don’t kill them all—get some prisoners!”

The battle was without suspense. As soon as the two sides clashed, the Beast Tamer tribesmen were utterly defeated. It wasn’t because they were too weak, but because most of their spiritual beasts hadn’t been unleashed, their positions were terrible, their attention was focused on the Trap Array, and some of them had to control the array as well. So their defeat was inevitable.

Guo Shier and Hachechi didn’t hold back. Their fierce killing spree terrified the Beast Tamer tribesmen, causing them to scatter in all directions. Aside from the two riding their flying spiritual beasts and escaping, everyone else was killed, including their unleashed spiritual beasts.

Goha and Yao Zebusong also left no captives. Except for one person who escaped, everyone else was slain by them.

Only Zhen Wuji, being alone, allowed the most to escape—six or seven people got away—while he dealt with the rest.

The rapid attacks made it difficult for them to capture any prisoners, especially since the members of this squad were extremely experienced. They all understood that once fighting started, they couldn’t give the enemy a chance—if a kill was possible in one strike, they must not attack twice, using only their most effective attack methods.

It was only when Li Ran’s shout came that Guo Shier realized awkwardly that he had already killed all the Beast Tamer clan members in front of him. He said, “Why didn’t you say earlier? You killed them all before telling me…”

Halechi said excitedly, “That’s right, exactly… Haha.” He felt no remorse at all—capturing prisoners wasn’t even on his mind.

However, Qi Wu Zhen caught one guy who had hidden aside from the start of the battle. He no longer had a spiritual beast, as his one had long been killed by Aizek. This man was Meller. It was precisely because his spiritual beast had been eaten by Aizek and Meili that this great battle had begun.

Meller was in a miserable state. He had already been severely beaten by Aizek, causing half of his face to collapse, all his rotten teeth to fall out, and his face to become deformed after healing. Coupled with his old-looking appearance, he looked extremely repulsive. He spoke in a slurred, chaotic manner, “Ah… spare me…”

Qi Wu Zhen extended a purple chain from her hand and tied Meller up like a zongzi. She said, “This guy seems to have no spiritual beast of his own, so he can’t escape quickly…”

Li Ran nodded. It was enough to catch one prisoner. His gaze shifted to the Beast Trapping Formation below. At that moment, Aizek and Meili were frantically attacking it, and the entire formation was already on the verge of collapse.

Qi Wu Zhen swung hard and threw Meller away, shouting, “Shier, go!”

Guo Shier teleported over instantly, and a purple chain flew from his palm, quickly wrapping around Meller. Qi Wu Zhen retracted her own chain. Li Ran nodded and pressed down sharply with his hand. A virtual giant hand appeared out of thin air and struck the Beast Trapping Formation hard. A series of cracking sounds followed, and soon the formation collapsed.

With two loud howls, Aizek and Meili took off into the air, their massive bodies creating a huge whirlwind. Li Ran and the others immediately teleported away. If they stayed in the sky above the canyon any longer, they would be hit by Aizek and the others. Li Ran cursed, “What are you guys doing crazy?”

After breaking free, Aizek and Meili wanted to take their anger out on the Beast Tamer clan members. But after looking around, they found no living members of the clan except for corpses. However, the two quickly spotted the only prisoner in Guo Shier’s hands—a man they recognized as the old Beast Tamer from the beginning.

Mayer trembled with fear as Ezek and Mei Li approached. Only now did he realize they weren’t alone wild super spiritual beasts—these two beasts actually had a group of spellcasters as friends, which was completely unexpected. He had really gotten into big trouble this time.

Guo Shier saw Ezek and Mei Li charging over aggressively and knew they were after the captive in his hands. He hurriedly said, “Wait, wait… Let’s first figure out who they are.”

Ezek and Mei Li hesitated for a moment before retreating. Holding back their anger, they turned to Li Ran, bowed respectfully, and kept thanking him. If it weren’t for Li Ran and the others coming to rescue them, they would have been in trouble. They might have been able to hold off the Beast Tamer Tribe’s attacks for a while, but they both knew they couldn’t resist forever. One day they would fall and be captured, and then their fate would be tragic.

Li Ran said calmly, “I brought you here. How could I ignore anything that happens to you? Hmm, by the way, who are they?”

Ezek gave a bitter smile and said, “I don’t know either.” Mei Li added, “They can control various spirit beasts. Well, these spiritual beasts are a bit different from ours. As for who they are, I’m not very sure…” It was all confusing—she had been in a daze from the start.

Ezek said, “Oh, right… They tried to control us…”

Guo Shier reached out and grabbed Mayer, asking calmly, “Who are you?”

Under the spell’s restraint, Mayer couldn’t move at all. His face was covered in cold sweat as he said, “We’re from the Beast Tamer Tribe. You… you are… you, the spells… I…” He was extremely terrified. His half-destroyed face was covered in blood, and his words came out in muffled sobs, unclear.

There were three most difficult races to deal with in the World of Spells—spellcasters were one of them, renowned for their strength. Mayer wasn’t a rookie; he was an old hand who had been around in this world for a long time. Of course, he knew these people were all top-tier professionals, and he was already terrified.

Guo Shier asked, “What’s your name?”

Mayer mumbled, “I’m Mayer… Mayer…”

Guo Shier asked again, “Mayer, where is your base? How many people are there? Why did you kill our people? Speak!”

Mayer couldn’t even cry. After a long while, he finally said, “We didn’t know the spiritual beasts… were… yours. We thought they were spiritual beasts…”

As soon as Ezekiel heard this, he exploded in anger. He rushed forward and slapped Meller’s face hard—there was a crisp sound, and Meller’s other side of the face was also smashed to pieces. He spat blood continuously. In terms of physical resilience, he couldn’t compare to a mutated beast like Ezekiel, let alone ordinary professionals; the gap was enormous.

Guo Shier quickly tried to stop Ezekiel. If he let Ezekiel vent his anger, Meller would likely end up as minced meat in just a few blows.

Halechi laughed and said, “Let me do it, let me…” He jumped over, pulled Meller, who was lying on the ground, up, propped his jaw back into place, and then said, “Alright, talk now.”

Meller was terrified. He didn’t dare hide anything and confessed everything—including their beast-rider clan’s location and their current top experts. He had completely collapsed. After asking his questions, Halechi threw Meller at Ezekiel and said with a laugh, “Here you go!”

Ezekiel didn’t hesitate. He slapped Meller’s chest, causing a crackling sound, then kicked him, sending Meller flying. Everyone saw Meller arc through the air before being thrown far away. That kick even sent Meller’s body to the other side of the canyon.

Meili curled her lips and said, “That guy got away too easily.” In her opinion, they should have eaten him. But after joining Li Ran’s team, she understood that eating people would arouse resentment. Killing was acceptable, but eating wasn’t—this was a world dominated by humans.

Ezekiel certainly understood this too, so he simply killed Meller instead of eating him.

Li Ran said calmly, “Ezekiel, what do you think we should do? Should we seek revenge?”

Ezekiel’s eyes turned fierce. “Of course!” With his temper, after suffering such a huge loss, he had to make it up for it no matter what. He had lived for so long without ever suffering such a great loss. What angered him the most was that the other party had even tried to enslave him and his wife, which filled him with hatred. If he didn’t get revenge, he would die of frustration.

Li Ran nodded and said, “No matter what decision you make, our team will support you. What do everyone think?” He glanced around, and everyone nodded in agreement. That was how this world worked—some things couldn’t be opposed; they had to be done, and responsibility had to be taken.

Qi Wuzhen asked, “How do you plan to take revenge?”

Ezek said angrily, “Kill them all! At least wipe out the Beast Tamer tribe members in this settlement.”
Qi Wu Zhen replied expressionlessly, “No problem.” Having been bullied to this extent, given her temperament, revenge was inevitable. With her personality, she wouldn’t take anyone to heart.
The location of the Beast Tamer tribe’s settlement had been identified—it was north of the canyon, not far away. According to Meller’s instructions, it would take the team about half an hour to fly there.
Ezek and Meili were deeply grateful and grew even more in admiration for Li Ran’s team. Later, when the team disbanded, the two became super spiritual beasts, ranking among the top experts in the Worship of Stars. They would do their utmost to help professionals from the Spellcraft World, all because of that initial sense of recognition.
Guo Shier said, “Let’s go!”
