Chapter 4: Thunder Dragon (Part 2)

Guo Shier and the others broke into cold sweats. This senior was truly too powerful—even extorting others with such confidence. Bao Chengyong seemed helpless against her, for some reason. Logically, with Bao Chengyong’s strength, he shouldn’t fear Yan Ruodai, yet what the four saw was Bao Chengyong clearly showing restraint toward her.

Bao Chengyong shouted, “Damn it… Slash! Slash! Slash!”
The black giant sword suddenly split into three swords, each slashing down in succession.
The mutated thunder dragon roared, its voice filled with extreme fear. It dared not stay and desperately dived underwater. Unfortunately, the water here wasn’t deep. In its panic, the dragon thrashed its hind legs and lunged wildly at Bao Chengyong sitting on the altar.

At the moment the dragon missed its target, the three giant swords following behind swung down.
Electricity flashed across the dragon’s body as a network of natural runes expanded, shattering the first sword with a loud crash and turning the network into countless arcs that scattered. Then the second sword slashed down, and with another thunderous sound, the dragon let out a pitiful roar. It twisted its body and whipped its tail wildly.

The third sword missed as well, being struck hard by the dragon’s tail on the side. With another loud crash, the third sword shattered. Originally, Bao Chengyong could have used the broken swords to create countless small knives, cutting the mutated thunder dragon so severely that it would lose half its life force even if it didn’t die. But Yan Ruodai wouldn’t allow it, so he could only reluctantly retract them.

In the blink of an eye, the giant sword stood upright in the air again, leaving Guo Shier in awe. This thing was too powerful—its strength was immense, and it wasn’t afraid of being shattered. Even if it broke, it still had even more formidable tactics at its disposal. Yet he also noticed that Bao Chengyong’s sacrificial artifact seemed to have significant limitations. He hadn’t figured out what they were yet, but he had a feeling that Yan Ruodai’s staff was even more powerful.

This time, Bao Chengyong transformed the black giant sword into two—one massive sword and another in the shape of a spike, only ten meters long—then calmly began slashing.
The poor thunder dragon couldn’t fight or escape. Even at level 15, it couldn’t run away and could only resist desperately. But the giant swords were simply too monstrous, slashing repeatedly one after another. If it could cry, it would have already cried itself to death—this was too much bullying for a dragon.

Yan Ruodai shook her head and said, “So useless. Killing a thunder beast takes so much trouble!”
Bao Chengyong almost fell off the altar. Those words were infuriating—could anyone be so dismissive?

Guo Shier laughed and shook his head. He really didn’t know how to describe this senior—he had never seen anyone so disrespectful. Bao Chengyong was among the top professionals, a skilled fighter who could chase down level-15 mutated rune beasts, yet she dismissed him as worthless.

The giant sword swung down again. This time, the Thunder Dragon spat out a web of electricity to block it, twisting its body to avoid it once more, only to have its neck pierced instantly by another ten-meter-long sword. The changes happened so fast that Guo Shier didn’t even see clearly. It wasn’t until the electric net was shattered that he noticed the sword embedded in the Thunder Dragon’s neck.

Guo Shier said in disbelief, “Was it that easy?”

Yan Ruodai replied calmly, “If two people’s combined strength can’t even kill it… then it’s a joke!”

Guo Shier asked in surprise, “Combined strength? Did the senior also fight?”

Yan Ruodai said, “If I hadn’t used my soul to suppress the Thunder Dragon and prevent it from flying away, could it have been killed so easily? Ridiculous!”

The Thunder Dragon could fly? Guo Shier broke into a cold sweat. If it could fly, its power would be unimaginable—even in water, it could hardly fight back.

So there was a reason for the argument between the two from the start. Guo Shier hadn’t realized they were working together. He thought Yan Ruodai had just stolen it unfairly. Now he understood—no wonder Bao Chengyong agreed. After all, Bao Chengyong wasn’t an ordinary professional; he was a powerful being with an altar. Even a master like Li Ran probably wouldn’t force him to do anything.

A large patch of blood spread across the water’s surface. The Thunder Dragon convulsed for a while before finally going completely still.

Bao Chengyong’s altar suddenly spat out countless virtual runes, forming a giant hand that plunged into the Thunder Dragon’s corpse. A few seconds later, that giant hand pulled back the dragon’s soul to the altar.

The Thunder Dragon’s soul beast soon appeared on the second level of the altar. It gazed sadly at the corpse on the water’s surface, raising its head to roar, but no sound came out. Then, the giant sword suddenly shrank, piercing through the Thunder Dragon’s neck and emerging from its forehead, carrying a blue bead.

Guo Shier stared and asked, “Is that the Thunder Pearl?”

Eagle Demon replied, “It should be.”

Bao Chengyong threw the Thunder Pearl. It landed on the second level of the altar, and the Thunder Dragon’s soul rushed over, swallowing it in one gulp. Its body gradually solidified, with arcs of electricity flashing across it. It seemed much more energetic before lying motionless on the altar.

Guo Shier said, “I see.” He understood a little better now—it seemed that the Thunder Dragon’s spirit could only regain some strength through the Thunder Pearl.
Yan Ruodai said, “Hold on tight.” Her altar sank slightly as it flew over the Thunder Dragon’s corpse. With a gentle wave of her magic staff, a layer of electric net descended upon the dragon. She shouted, “Retreat!”
Guo Shier and the others watched as the giant Thunder Dragon rapidly shrank and vanished in an instant, drawn into the space of Yan Ruodai’s altar.
The blood that had mixed into the water was also absorbed by Yan Ruodai, somehow. In moments, not a trace of blood remained on the surface.
Bao Chengyong asked loudly, “Yan Ruodai, are you going to the Little Thunder Realm for trading?”
Yan Ruodai replied indifferently, “No!”
Bao Chengyong drooped his whiskers, looking dejected, and said, “Go! Go! Please go!”
Yan Ruodai said, “I definitely won’t go!”
Annoyed, Bao Chengyong’s whiskers stood on end as he pleaded, “Sis, I beg you, go!”
Guo Shier and the others were utterly confused by this guy. They couldn’t figure out what relationship he had with Yan Ruodai. At first, they were at odds, but later they found out they had worked together to kill the Thunder Dragon. Now, Bao Chengyong was begging her—everything was so chaotic it left them bewildered.
Yan Ruodai said, “I’m too lazy to go to the trading area in the Little Thunder Realm. If you want to go, go by yourself! Why drag me along?”
Bao Chengyong, his face full of wrinkles, said bitterly, “That thunder barrier… I can’t get through it! Damn it… I’m leaving!”
Yan Ruodai said, “I knew it. Hmph. You wanted to make me do the hard work? I’m about to leave the Little Thunder Realm anyway. Why go just to send you?”
Bao Chengyong shouted, “Can’t you send me? Will you or won’t you? Will you do it or not?”
Guo Shier couldn’t help but laugh—this guy was too amusing. He still didn’t understand their relationship and asked, “Elder… are you very familiar with him?”
Yan Ruodai didn’t hide it and said, “He’s the husband of one of my younger sisters. An annoying guy!” Then she turned away and said, “I won’t send you! I definitely won’t! There’s no benefit… why would I do it?”
Guo Shier thought, “No wonder!” Everyone else looked enlightened.
Bao Chengyong gritted his teeth and said, “I knew it! I knew it! You refuse to do anything if there’s no benefit!”
Yan Ruodai pouted and said, “I’m too lazy to argue with you. I’m leaving!”

Not only did Guo Shier laugh out loud, but even Ying Mo and Luo Zhan also laughed. Zhou Xiaoling’s face turned red as she punched Guo Shier’s shoulder hard and scolded, “You jerk! Making you laugh… making you laugh!”
Yan Ruodai glanced at the three of them curiously, causing them to feel uneasy. She asked, “What are you laughing at?”
Zhou Xiaoling answered first, “They’re laughing at me!”
Yan Ruodai asked in surprise, “Laughing at you for what?”
Zhou Xiaoling replied shyly, “Because when I fight, I like to call myself ‘old lady’ too.”
Yan Ruodai staggered for a moment before suddenly bursting into laughter. “I calling myself ‘old lady’… that’s not wrong, but how old are you anyway? No wonder…”
Then Bao Chengyong shouted, “Alright! You win! I’ll give it to you!” He threw something that flew straight toward her. Yan Ruodai caught it with her hand, glanced at it briefly, and showed a pleased expression. She said, “Come with me to Leitai. I’ll gather my things and then go with you.”
Bao Chengyong muttered under his breath, “That greedy old woman! Sigh, I guess I have to give it to her after all.”
Yan Ruodai was even stronger than Bao Chengyong. How could she not hear his muttering? She let out a light laugh, “Hehe!” Bao Chengyong shrank back in fear, thinking, “Forget it. Better not provoke this crazy old woman. Women from the Gudai family are hard to deal with. Ever since I married one, I’ve had bad luck for eight generations. Being bullied by my wife at home is one thing, but now I have to endure her sisters too. Sigh… what a world!”
Guo Shier noticed that Yan Ruodai was in high spirits, looking extremely cheerful. He guessed that the thing Bao Chengyong had given her must be something extraordinary.
Yan Ruodai didn’t take the altar away but sat on it directly, teleporting back to Leitai. Bao Chengyong, who seemed familiar with the place, also teleported over.
She put away the talisman house and activated the talisman array defense of Leitai. Guo Shier asked curiously, “Senior, do we have to go too?”
Yan Ruodai smiled and said, “If you don’t go, can you even get there by yourself? Everyone here is a top-tier professional. If you encounter one who’s not friendly to you… can you handle it? Hehe.”
Guo Shier gave a wry smile. Of course he understood what Yan Ruodai meant. He said, “Hmm, we’ll go with you. Senior, isn’t this just the Minor Thunder Realm?”
Bao Chengyong snapped, “You idiot! The Minor Thunder Realm is a specific place. This place got its name because of it… Just go with us. Stop talking so much!” He was still upset about giving away his item.
Guo Shier was speechless. Being scolded by such a top-tier professional, he could only shut up obediently.

Yan Ruodai ignored him, busy dealing with her own matters. Bao Chengyong paced back and forth, looking a bit distracted and bored. Guo Shier and the others gathered together, whispering among themselves. Bao Chengyong, clearly bored, came over and asked, “Strange, how did you four little guys end up in Xiao Lei Realm? This isn’t a testing ground!” Guo Shier acted as if he hadn’t heard and continued talking with Eagle Demon and the others. Bao Chengyong’s curved rat whiskers flipped upward, turning into an inverted curve, as he said, “Little brat, how dare you ignore me?”
