Chapter 7: Stealing Eggs (Part 1)

Everyone’s gaze immediately focused on Guo Shier. Qi Nanshan said, “No? Uh, Shier, do you have any idea? How can we kill this Sky Snake Calamity Turtle?” Though he had great confidence in Guo Shier, he still doubted they could defeat such a massive creature. He really couldn’t think of any way to deal with it.
Guo Shier smiled and said, “I don’t know how long the Sky Snake Calamity Turtle has been on land. Hehe, I guess it must have laid its eggs already. We can’t defeat it, but we can steal its eggs!”
Qi Nanshan perked up and said, “Turtle eggs! Haha, good idea!”
Eagle Demon asked, “Where are the turtle eggs?”
Guo Shier snarled, “The Sky Snake Calamity Turtle has severely weakened my Giant Nest Dragon. It will need at least one Soul Pearl to recover. Hmph, it also injured my Soul Beast… I’ll make you regret this!”
Everyone burst into laughter. Qi Nanshan said, “Shier, you’re not losing out at all. Haha, really painful! Isn’t it painful? Haha.”
Monier patted Guo Shier’s head and laughed, “Baby, the eggs of the Sky Snake Calamity Turtle… must be under its shell. How are you going to steal them?”
Guo Shier replied, “Simple! We dig a tunnel in.”
Monier giggled and said, “Okay, go ahead and dig. But line the walls—this is by the sea, and water will seep in.”
Qi Nanshan hesitated, “Dig a tunnel? It’s not that simple… Well, let’s give it a try. Maybe it’ll work.”
The four of them flew down from the turtle’s shell to the ground. Guo Shier looked up and couldn’t help but sigh, “This thing is like a high wall. I really don’t understand how the Sky Snake Calamity Turtle can grow so big!”
Monier laughed and said, “Mutated sea beasts are all big. There are even bigger ones.”
Guo Shier understood immediately. With the support of seawater, size and weight weren’t issues, nor was food, which allowed them to grow so large. Just like in his past life, marine creatures were much bigger than those on land. On land, once an organism grew too large, there wouldn’t be enough food, and its own weight would be too much for the mutated beast to bear.
Eagle Demon said, “Let me do it!”
He plunged his life sigil blade downward and shouted, “Open!” The blade spun rapidly, creating a large hole seven or eight meters deep. He leaped in, pointing at his blade as he pushed forward.
Guo Shier followed closely behind, constantly using virtual sigils to stabilize the walls. Then Qi Nanshan and Monier also jumped in.

The Eagle Demon was extremely fast, its life sigil blade acting like a high-speed excavator. While stabilizing the surrounding walls, Guo Shier thought that if he had such a skill in his past life, it would definitely be a game-changer for tomb raiding and treasure hunting.

The Sky Snake Calamity Turtle had no idea there were ants-like creatures trying to steal its eggs. Frustrated, it fell into a deep sleep. The exertion from earlier had left it tired, and a good sleep would help it regain its strength before luring another mutated sigil beast, allowing it to fill its stomach.

If not for the virtual sigils keeping it stable, this underground passage would have been flooded by water. With their support, it could remain dry for at least a few days.

Suddenly, the Eagle Demon stopped and said, “There’s a barrier!”

Qi Nanshan said, “As expected…”

It was a layer of greenish light barrier blocking the way. The Eagle Demon used its life sigil blade to clear the surroundings, but the barrier still stood like a wall, blocking the path.

Guo Shier stepped forward to examine it closely.

Monier, being experienced, took just one glance and said, “It’s an instinctive defensive mechanism. Mutated sigil beasts are born with it, but its power isn’t very strong.”

Guo Shier said cheerfully, “Then break it!”

Monier shook her head. “As soon as we break it, it will alert the giant above. I guess… with just one slap, it could crush us into mud.”

Guo Shier was stunned. He said with a wry smile, “No wonder… Ah, that makes sense. Any mutated sigil beast will protect its offspring fiercely and won’t let us succeed easily. Master, is there any way to break the barrier without alerting the giant above?”

Monier shook her head. “It’s impossible. This barrier… I guess it’s connected to the giant’s soul. Once we try to break it, its soul will sense it, and that will be our doom.”

Guo Shier and Qi Nanshan both looked up simultaneously, exchanging a glance and seeing surprise on each other’s faces.

Qi Nanshan said gravely, “So… this barrier is connected to the giant’s soul?”

Monier replied casually, “Yes!” But in an instant, she realized what she’d said and showed surprise. “You plan to burn its soul?”

Qi Nanshan said calmly, “I was just worried we wouldn’t find a way. Since it’s connected to the soul, then the Sky Snake Calamity Turtle… hehe, can’t escape. Destroy its soul—what use is it even if it’s still powerful?”

Monier couldn’t help but shiver inwardly, thinking, “No wonder the Black Symbolist is so ferocious. Such tactics are terrifying. I’d better stay away from him from now on; he’s someone I can’t afford to provoke.” She said, “Okay, you can give it a try, but the three of us must withdraw first.”
Qi Nanshan nodded. “Even if you didn’t say anything, I would have made you all leave. Hehe, this place is too dangerous.”
Guo Shier suddenly said, “Grandpa Nanshan, forget it. There’s no need for this. It’s too dangerous for you down there. We don’t need to take risks. Even if we don’t capture the Heavenly Snake Calamity Turtle, we won’t suffer any loss.” He didn’t want Qi Nanshan to take risks. This wasn’t a life-or-death struggle; if things went wrong, death was inevitable.
Qi Nanshan smiled. “It’s not that serious. Do you think a Great Sage Master would die so easily?”
Monier nodded. “That’s true, especially since you’ve inherited the skills of the Black Symbolist. You’re indeed stronger than other professionals… Alright, darling, don’t worry about him. Let’s withdraw first.”
Guo Shier hesitated for a moment before saying, “Grandpa Nanshan, if something goes wrong, don’t hold on stubbornly. There will be plenty of other opportunities. There’s no need to take risks here.”
Qi Nanshan nodded. “Shier, don’t worry. Your Grandpa Nanshan isn’t that stupid. Alright, stay back and don’t let the Heavenly Snake Calamity Turtle vent its anger on you.”
Eagle Demon only said two words: “Be careful!” The three of them left the passage and flew away.
The three quickly retreated to the primeval forest. From high above, they could clearly see the massive body of the Heavenly Snake Calamity Turtle in the thicket. Guo Shier said worriedly, “I wonder if we can burn its soul…” Suddenly, he remembered something else and couldn’t help but say, “A Level 10 Heavenly Snake Calamity Turtle… Its soul must be incredibly powerful. Could Grandpa Nanshan advance again?”
Monier shook her head. “I don’t know. Your old man’s really lucky. Although it’s a profession that everyone wants to hunt, once one becomes a Sage Master, it’s very hard to kill them. From then on, they’re practically invincible… Unless they’re unlucky and encounter the best professionals, then there’s nothing to say.”
Eagle Demon said, “He will definitely advance. Judging from the ferocious power of the Heavenly Snake Calamity Turtle, its soul must be extremely strong.”
Guo Shier said, “Let’s retreat a little further. Grandpa Nanshan is about to take action.” The three stepped back a few hundred meters and watched intently.
Roar! Roar! Roar…

The Heavenly Snake Calamity Turtle suddenly let out a shrill scream, its sound waves vibrating through the air and creating ripples. Guo Shier and the others were terrified and quickly descended. At a distance of a hundred meters from the ground, the sound waves hit them. Guo Shier screamed, “Teleport!” The three of them vanished from the air and reappeared on the ground.

The sound waves swept everything on the ground, even the distant primeval forest was not spared. Roaring noises echoed as large trees collapsed.

Guo Shier and the others swung their life talisman blades to cut down the falling trees. The three exchanged nervous glances—this thing was simply too terrifying.

With all the trees around them knocked down by the sound waves, their vision cleared, allowing them to see the terrifying Heavenly Snake Calamity Turtle through the swirling dust.

The ground trembled violently, as if a magnitude-10 earthquake had struck. The three couldn’t stand on the ground and could only hover a meter above it, watching the turtle jump frantically.

As dust rose, dark clouds gathered in the sky. A flash of lightning appeared, followed by a loud thunderclap. Guo Shier stared at the sky in shock and said, “Damn, what the hell is this?”

The Heavenly Snake Calamity Turtle suddenly raised its thick tail and thrashed it violently. Every time it hit the ground, it raised clouds of dust. At that moment, lightning struck the tail, sending a blinding current of light that rushed along the tail to the turtle’s massive body.

Guo Shier pointed at the turtle and shouted, “Fire!”

Even though its entire body was covered in thin black flames, the turtle refused to leave, only spinning around in place. It didn’t know where the attack was coming from; it only knew its soul was burning.

The turtle stretched its neck and spat out a blinding blue light, instantly freezing everything in front of it. A radius of seven or eight hundred meters became a frozen world in the shape of a fan. Then, it turned its head and spat blue light to both sides, letting out a loud roar: “Roar…”

The lightning striking from the sky was shattered by its roar. Guo Shier gasped in awe, “Damn! That’s too intense…”

The turtle spat out more blue light into the sky, which instantly turned into countless hailstones that poured down like a storm. Monier said, “It’s trying to use ice crystals to extinguish the fire in its soul!”

Guo Shier shook his head. “It won’t work. The fire in its soul can’t be extinguished by ice crystals.”

Eagle Demon exclaimed, “It really has a long life… It still can’t die even after being burned like this…”

The Sky Serpent Tortoise could finally no longer withstand the burning of its soul. It let out a deafening roar filled with anger and resentment, then rushed forward at full speed toward the sea. The three of them paled greatly. Monier shouted, “Teleport!” With several quick teleports, they left that place far behind. No one could stop the enraged Sky Serpent Tortoise, nor did anyone dare to try.
