Chapter 2: Returning Home (Part 1)

Fuye Anxing and the others were terrified, not knowing what this little demon wanted to say. Guo Shier said, “Keep that man here for now. I have questions—whose slave talisman is he?”
The person Guo Shier was pointing at was Luning, the beast sorcerer who had been captured in the secret realm last time. He needed to find out some details. Soon, Luning stood in front of Guo Shier.
“Do you still remember who you are? Do you recognize me?”
Luning looked at Guo Shier in confusion and said, “I don’t know…”
Kumu said, “He’s using a forced slavery talisman. Once it’s used… he can’t remember anything, and his strength also decreases slightly. Such talismans are very harmful—after using them, he’s basically useless, reduced to just a thug… This kind of talisman is different from mine.”
Guo Shier had no good feelings toward Luning—this guy had led people to massacre the residents of a whole town. He nodded and said, “Fuye Chen, come out. I have questions!”
Fuye Chen stepped forward hesitantly. Guo Shier asked, “Back in the secret realm, you kept chasing us. You must have captured some of us. Where are they now?”
Fuye Chen forced a bitter smile and said, “We didn’t capture any of you.” In truth, they had captured two alive, but because their strength was weak, they sold them right away. How could he dare say that?
Guo Shier recalled and asked, “Nine of us were captured. Didn’t you catch even one?”
Fuye Chen wouldn’t dare admit it even if his life depended on it. Fortunately, Luning was unconscious; otherwise, things would have gotten worse. Now he understood why Guo Shier had called out to Luning. Cold sweat streamed down his forehead. This kid was too shrewd.
Guo Shier stared at him intently. After a long while, he said, “Don’t make me find evidence!”
Fuye Chen had completely lost his courage. He lowered his head and refused to speak again. Guo Shier knew that unless he controlled this guy’s life and death, he wouldn’t tell the truth. He shook his head slightly and had no choice but to give up further questioning.
Fuye Anxing said, “In that case, we’ll take our leave.”
Yan Long called over a few inner sect disciples and instructed them to follow, making sure to see them leave the secret realm. The silver-clothed disciples bowed and used flying talismans to follow them.
Zhu Juan asked, “Senior brother, why let them go?”
Yan Long replied calmly, “This altar can’t withstand our battles. Besides, if we kill them, it will be hard to keep this secret… Driven by hatred, they’ll definitely spread the news widely. For now… they probably still have some hope and won’t expose this secret yet.”

Zhu Juan nodded and said, “The sect master has arrived too.”
Sect Master Mo Tian stepped out from the crowd, smiling and saying, “Was this discovered by Ershier? Where is Ershier?”
Guo Ershier muttered to himself, “Your eyes are really big—after watching all this excitement for so long, you still don’t know where I am?” He then shouted, “Grandpa Mo, I’m here!” Hearing this address, Mo Tian beamed with joy. By seniority, Guo Ershier indeed could call him grandpa.
Mo Ni’er happily took Guo Ershier’s hand and led him to Mo Tian. She said, “Dad, this time Ershier has made a great contribution to the sect. You must reward our treasure well.”
Mo Tian laughed heartily and said, “Of course. The sect offers the highest rewards for such discoveries. Don’t worry, Ni’er; I’ll personally take care of this.”
After saying a few words, Mo Tian walked over to Yan Long and said with a smile, “Hehe, I didn’t expect this matter to require our great sage Yan to get involved.”
Yan Long replied calmly, “Sect master.”
Mo Tian asked, “Old Yan, what have you discovered about this altar?”
Yan Long said, “This is an ancient soul altar. I’m not sure if it can be moved back to the sect… It’s extremely important. Its value is even higher than that of the Void Mist Path!”
Mo Tian’s smile faded as he grew serious. He asked, “Old Yan, are you sure?”
Yan Long nodded. “What we’ve already learned is astonishing. There must be many other functions yet undiscovered. I estimate… even for people from the Advanced Talismans Continent, this would be a treasure. We need to understand this altar as soon as possible. If possible, we should move it inside the sect. It’s too dangerous to leave it here.”
A few elders dressed in purple gathered around them. They were all elders of the Chenxiao Sect and began discussing how to handle this altar.
Inside, Guo Ershier was worried. He really couldn’t stop thinking about Master Luo Jie, but he didn’t know how to tell Master Kumu that he needed to go back. Ying Mo came over to him. He had come with Zhu Juan and the rest of the group. He asked, “Ershier, have you seen the old man?”
Guo Ershier replied with a wry smile, “No. They came in briefly earlier but encountered people from the Fuye family and fled back.”
Ying Mo looked disappointed.
Mo Ni’er, still holding Guo Ershier’s hand, asked, “Baby, who are you talking about?”
Guo Ershier said with a sad smile, “My first master. We agreed to meet here, but they were chased by the Fuye family. Thankfully, they’ve managed to escape back.”
Mo Ni’er pondered for a moment and said, “Your first master? Do you miss home?”

Guo Shier took the opportunity to act cute. He knew that to go back, Monier’s support was crucial. Holding Monier’s arm, he said, “Masteress, I want to take them to the Chenxiao Sect. This altar was discovered by my first master, and since I handed it over to the sect, they should be able to come to Chenxiao Sect, right?”
Monier replied, “No problem. I’ll help you with that.” She took it all on herself.
Guo Shier was overjoyed. “Thank you, Masteress. You’re the best…” As he spoke, he couldn’t help but shiver, but for Master Luo Jie’s sake, it was worth it.
Monier enjoyed Guo Shier’s flattery. Smiling, she said, “Of course, how could I not help my baby? Don’t worry!”
Guo Shier asked, “Masteress, can I go back for a while?” He was a bit anxious, fearing Monier might refuse. If she did, things would get complicated.
Monier said, “No problem, but you need to tell your master first, so he won’t misunderstand.”
Guo Shier whispered, “Masteress, I’ll go talk to my master, but I need your support.”
Knowing Guo Shier was worried, Monier, who hated seeing him in distress, hugged him and said, “Don’t be afraid. Don’t fear your master. I’m here.”
“Idiot, come here!”
Guo Shier broke into cold sweat. The masteress was truly powerful—she called him an idiot right in front of everyone. Kuumu walked over coldly and asked, “What’s the matter?”
Monier said, “My baby misses home and wants to go back. He also wants to bring some people to join Chenxiao Sect… My baby is too shy to ask you directly…”
Kuumu frowned. Guo Shier’s heart skipped a beat. He stared at Kuumu, which made Monier feel pain. She quickly comforted him, “Don’t worry, baby. If your master refuses, I’ll deal with him!”
Kuumu glared and said, “Who said I won’t agree?”
Guo Shier cheered and jumped into Kuumu’s arms, repeating, “Thank you, master! Thank you!” Monier scolded, “Baby…” Knowing what she was thinking, Guo Shier quickly slipped out of Kuumu’s arms and rushed into Monier’s arms, saying, “Thank you, Masteress!”
Monier was happy. “Okay, okay. I’ll go with you.”
Kuumu said, “I’ll go too.”
Allowing him to go back wasn’t a problem. Kuumu and Monier shared the same thought—a low-level magic continent wasn’t anything special. But if they let Guo Shier go and he didn’t return, things could get messy.

If the master and master’s wife agreed, there was no problem for Guo Shier to go back with them. Moreover, if the master and master’s wife went together, they could bring more people back as well. Both of them had their own talisman sects.
Guo Shier beamed with joy and said, “Let’s go now!”
Kumu and Monier were both stunned. Monier said, “Baby, isn’t it too hasty? Wouldn’t it be better to prepare first before going?”
Guo Shier replied with a smile, “I’m already ready!”
Kumu said indifferently, “So you were prepared all along! Wait a moment, Monier. Tell the sect leader that we have nothing to do here either, so we’ll leave first… Um, don’t mention going to the Lower Talisman Continent, lest the sect form some plans.”
Guo Shier was extremely grateful, knowing that his master was helping him keep things secret. A Lower Talisman Continent, if exposed to a higher-level continent, would be like an unguarded place—any sect or family could enter to rob and kill.
Monier nodded with a smile. She was very happy to be traveling with Kumu and Guo Shier; it was like a family outing, something that hadn’t happened in a long time. Kumu used to go out alone, never wanting to be with anyone, not even Monier. This time, because of Guo Shier, he actually agreed to go together. Had this wooden fool finally come to his senses?
After a while, Monier returned. The sect never restricted the actions of high-level professionals. Even if Monier didn’t say anything, the sect wouldn’t interfere. But at such a sensitive time, it was better to inform them.
Yan Long came over to the three of them and asked, “Are you leaving here?”
Monier replied, “Our family has some matters to attend to, so we’re leaving first… Senior brother, will you stay here?”
Yan Long nodded. “I must stay here to keep watch. The sect has gone to invite another Great Sage Master. With the two of us here, it should be safe.” He looked at Guo Shier, patted his head, and said, “Shier is quite good. It’s a shame he was taken away by that wooden fool. Hehe, with this little guy around, you two should get back together, right? Shier, you need to work hard and try to surpass your master soon.”
Kumu rolled his eyes at this—this senior brother was really shameless.
Monier’s face turned red as she stamped her foot and scolded, “Senior brother!”
Yan Long waved his hand smilingly and walked away. As soon as he left, Zhu Juan came over. Zhu Juan said cheerfully, “Kumu, Ni’er, are you leaving?”
Monier smiled and asked, “What do you want?”
