Chapter 103

Looking at the enraged crowd, Xia Kui waved the gun in his hand and said, “Oh, look how I forgot to introduce myself—this is Mr. Yevgeny!” He pointed at the refined old Russian and continued, “He is the representative sent to China by the famous Axe Group in Russia. Now we are the best of friends, ready to establish the largest underground gang in City H to restore the glory of the Fourth Boss and make the government afraid to underestimate us again. I wonder if anyone here is interested in joining?”
The crowd showed doubts. Since this old Russian belonged to Axe Group, he must also be the backer of the Tiger Gang. Weren’t Xia Kui and the Tiger Gang at odds? How could they be connected now?
Noticing their confusion, Xia Kui said proudly, “If I didn’t put on this act, some of you might not have dared to come. How could everyone gather here so quickly? Haha!” Xie Wendong felt as if he had been slapped after hearing this; he had indeed been careless about Xia Kui.
Someone stood up and shouted, “Xia Kui, what do you mean by this? By allying with those old Russians, do you plan to devour all of us here? How could the Fourth Boss raise a scumbag like you—selling even his own ancestors…!”
“Bang~” Before he could finish, Xia Kui shot him in the head, blew out the smoke from his gun, and sighed, “Life is short—cherish it! Why strive for temporary power? Let me tell you, today I intend to take over all of you. Hand over your places and everyone here. Those who agree can leave; those who don’t? Hehe, not a single one of you will get out alive!” With that, Xia Kui took a stack of documents from a table nearby. “It’s best if you all sign your names here. It’s simple—just write a few words and you can go. I won’t make things hard for you!”
City H was different from City J. Here, the owners of discos and nightclubs were usually bosses of criminal gangs, managing their own venues. In City J, however, it was the legitimate businesses that were controlled by gangs.
Xie Wendong watched everything coldly. Though his face remained calm, his heart was in turmoil. With Xia Kui allied with Axe Group, his own life was in danger. His feud with the Tiger Gang was serious, and their withdrawal from City J was directly related to him. Perhaps it was just Xie Wendong’s paranoia, but he felt as if that man named Yevgeny kept glancing at him, a sinister smile on his lips.

Xie Wendong calmed himself down and quietly looked for an opportunity. He secretly signaled the people behind him, including Sanyan, indicating that action might be needed soon. The seven people behind him were already prepared, waiting only for Xie Wendong’s command.

The few subordinates of the man killed by Xie Kui rushed at him as soon as he fired, but were stopped by over a dozen strong men. These men carried knives and quickly knocked the unarmed men to the ground. The other bosses were terrified, feeling both fear and hatred toward Xie Kui.

Seeing this, Xie Wendong stood up vigorously and shouted, “We can’t just sit here and wait to die! Even if we surrender, Xie Kui won’t let us go. Don’t listen to his sweet words!”

Everyone was shocked after hearing this. Xie Wendong was right—Xie Kui had gone this far, and there was no way he would let them leave alive. A few bosses were already eager to fight, determined to confront Xie Kui even without weapons.

Xie Kui laughed cruelly and said, “Xie Wendong, do you know who I want to see die the most among these people? It’s you!” Suddenly, he raised his gun and fired at Xie Wendong’s head. Sanyan behind Xie Wendong reacted quickly. Seeing Xie Kui’s move, he knew something was wrong, grabbed Xie Wendong’s clothes, and pulled hard, causing both of them to fall to the ground. This also saved them from the fatal shot.

Xie Wendong was pinned under the conference table by Sanyan. Now he regretted his carelessness. He hadn’t expected Xie Kui and Battle Axe to team up, nor that these two constantly fighting factions would share the ambition to take over H City’s underworld. Sighing inwardly, Xie Wendong realized there could be many more enemies lurking around. With Evgeny from Russia added to the mix, the odds were heavily against them today!

As Xie Kui fired, Shui Jing suddenly flicked her hand, and a steel needle she had prepared long ago shot out with a silver glow, aiming straight at Xie Kui.

Seeing Xie Wendong dodge and hide under the table, Xie Kui’s face turned red. He stepped forward to kick the table again but suddenly felt pain in his wrist. His entire arm went numb, and he lost control of it; his gun fell to the ground. Looking down, he saw a very thin silver needle stuck in his wrist, and the skin at the puncture site was rapidly turning black. Terrified, Xie Kui couldn’t help but shout, “What is this?”

At the same time Shui Jing attacked, Gao Qiang rushed forward swiftly. His speed was so fast that before anyone could react, he was already near Xie Kui, shouting, “Damn you!”

Gao Qiang’s powerful strike hit Xie Kui right in the face. Letting out a cry, Xie Kui stepped back several times. Originally a thug himself, he was no weakling. After stepping back, he stabilized himself and, seeing his men frozen in shock, shouted, “What are you waiting for? Attack! Leave none alive!”
His men snapped out of their daze at his command—some used guns, others knives.
Soon, the hall was filled with screams and gunshots. The people there were all leaders of various gangs, bringing their best fighters, each skilled in combat. But lacking weapons, they were at a disadvantage. Within moments, several were shot and fell to the ground. Others either sought cover or fought against Xie Kui’s men.
After pushing back Xie Kui, Jin Yan behind him shouted, “Dive!”
Gao Qiang instinctively rolled to the ground. A bullet flew past his back. Even so, he felt a chill on his shoulder as the bullet left a three-inch-long wound. The shooter was the refined-looking Yevgeny. Seeing his shot miss, he showed a hint of surprise. Waving at the two Russians beside him, the three left the hall. Outside, Yevgeny sneered, “Let them fight among themselves. We’ll clean up the mess later. Are everyone here?” (Russian)
One of the Russians replied respectfully, “Boss, they should arrive in about two more minutes!” (Russian)
“Hmm!” (Russian) Yevgeny nodded in satisfaction. Taking out a photo from his pocket, he said harshly, “Everyone can run, but he must not. I heard Black Belt has already started hunting him. If they team up, we’ll be in trouble!”
The two Russians glanced at the person in the photo and said in unison, “Understood, boss!”
The chaos in the hall grew worse. As Gao Qiang fell to the ground, he picked up Xie Kui’s dropped pistol. Then he rolled under a table and collided with Xie Wendong inside. Seeing the red stain on Gao Qiang’s shoulder, Xie Wendong exclaimed anxiously, “Qiangzi, you’re injured!”
Without even looking, Gao Qiang curled his lips and said, “It’s nothing. This wound isn’t a problem! Here, Dongge!” He handed the pistol to Xie Wendong, who shook his head slightly, bit his lip, and said to Gao Qiang, “Qiangzi, hold on! Let’s break through! Give the gun to Jin Yan—he’s a better shot than any of us!” With that, Xie Wendong climbed out from under the table, scanned the surroundings, and spotted Xie Kui shouting not far away. A sinister smile appeared on his face as he strode over.
Seeing that Xie Wendong wasn’t one of their own, someone rushed at him with a knife, swinging it at him.

Xie Wendong paid him no attention. He turned his body, dodging the blade, and moved closer to the man—less than four inches separating their faces. The golden knife on his left wrist naturally fell into his hand, pressing against the man’s neck, while his right hand grabbed the man’s front clothes and pushed him in the direction of Xia Kui.

The man wasn’t willing to give up easily. Just as he raised his knife to strike Xie Wendong, the latter kicked him hard in the lower abdomen with his knee. The man screamed in pain, and his knife fell to the ground. The scream caught Xia Kui’s attention. Seeing one of his men retreating unnaturally, sensing something was wrong, he looked down and saw four legs below. Xia Kui reacted quickly, ignoring the fate of his own men. Those around him shouted, “Kill him! Kill him now!”

The men on either side were stunned, not understanding why they should kill their own. Xia Kui snatched a gun from one of his men and fired wildly at Xie Wendong and the man he was pushing.

The man let out a pained cry and collapsed, but Xie Wendong held him up, preventing him from falling, as if he were still retreating. At that moment, the poisonous gas from Xia Kui’s wrist began to spread throughout his body. He felt dizzy and leaned against the wall, weakly ordering his men, “Go! Go! Kill him!”

The men on either side also realized there were enemies behind them and rushed forward quickly.

Xie Wendong shouted loudly and thrust the corpse in his hands forward, hitting one of the rushing men. At the same time, the golden knife in his hand flew out. This time, Xie Wendong used all his strength, and combined with the knife’s weight, it pierced into one of the men’s lower abdomen like lightning. The pierced man screamed and rolled to the ground.

The others immediately raised their guns and fired several shots at Xie Wendong. But he was prepared. While throwing the flying knife, he darted sideways, dodging the dozen or so bullets fired at him.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!” Three more gunshots rang out, but this time it was Golden Eye who fired. Three bullets penetrated the heads of three men, his shooting speed, accuracy, and brutality reaching their limit. Before the three shot men could fall, Xie Wendong took advantage of the confusion among the remaining men, rolled on the ground, and forcefully pulled the golden knife back. The knife spun in the air, and its silver wire struck one of the men’s waist. Driven by force, the knife circled around that man twice.

Xie Wendong sighed inwardly—this man was truly unlucky! But instead of relaxing his arm, he pulled back with force.

“Ah!” A shrill scream echoed through the hall. The man was cut in two by the silver wire. His upper body wasn’t dead yet; he kept pushing forward, reaching out to his companions for help, “Save me! Save me!! Save me!! Save…” His voice grew weaker and weaker.

Everyone in this hall had fought and killed before, but they were equally terrified by the gruesome scene before them, trembling from within. Yet no one had much time to ponder these things—the chaos continued. Gunshots from Golden Eye could be heard from time to time, but none were wasted shots. Three-Eyes and his men had somehow grabbed knives and were fighting back. One of Blind Kui’s subordinates was stunned by this hell on earth, dropped his gun, screamed uncontrollably, and ran out of the hall like a madman. Golden Eye watched as the man passed by him without shooting. It wasn’t out of mercy, but because he saw no need to—assassins never waste a useless bullet. If guns were their life, then bullets were their soul!
