Chapter 672: The Natural Deity Pantheon
Soon, two brilliant stars rose from the northern lands and ascended into the sky. This was the moment when two true gods simultaneously raised their thrones, and the celestial phenomenon immediately caused a sensation throughout the main world as well as attracting the attention of all powerful divine beings in the multiverse.
It had been just a few years since the last time a true god raised their throne, yet now two gods were doing so at once, with divine kingdoms ascending to the heavens. Didn’t they fear failure in their ascension due to backlash from the realms they were ascending from? However, the appearance of the Natural Guardians later on made the gods understand.
No wonder those two deities dared to be so bold—turns out they had the support of other true gods behind them.
This act of raising thrones caused quite a stir. Although not as powerful as Donald’s Azeroth Divine Kingdom before, it still drew the attention of many powerful void monsters. But this time, no such formidable divine abominations as the Hundred-Armed Giants appeared. Even when lower-tier void monsters showed up, they were swiftly dealt with by Donald, Charisize, and the other three true gods, becoming nourishment for the two newly formed lower-tier divine kingdoms.
Soon, the divine kingdoms of the two Celtic true gods ascended to the outer regions of the neutral divine zone in the upper realms, next to Azeroth’s Divine Kingdom. They officially merged with this realm, which could be considered the largest among the mid-tier divine kingdoms in the heavens aside from a few higher-tier divine kingdoms, becoming part of Azeroth—the land of legends and dreams.
While the divine kingdoms of these two deities merged, Donald also designated separate areas within his own kingdom for his two wives.
“How do you like it?”
The realm assigned to Catherine was called Silverland. It was rich in silver, sterling silver, and other silver-based mineral deposits, which aligned well with Catherine’s divine domain. The landscape there was unique and fertile, offering a delightful blend of the styles of ancient Chinese gardens and European manors.
“I really like it!” Catherine replied sweetly.
Silverland’s style was exactly what she preferred—stable and prosperous, yet not overly extravagant. Its scenery was elegant and beautiful, exuding a sense of happiness and warmth.
The realm assigned to Cornelia was named Moonlight Hunting Ground. In this naturally serene area, there were fertile plains, lush forests, and a variety of wild beasts and magical creatures.
At the same time, Donald created a group of dwarves and female elves to serve his two wives. The dwarves were used for mining and heavy labor, while the elves served as attendants in the divine realm. Cornelia was given female dark elves, mostly hunters and archers, which suited her role as the goddess of hunting perfectly.
Additionally, after Cornelia succeeded in becoming a goddess, she received divine gifts from her brothers, Loki-Sol and the others: a bow and arrows modeled after those of the Moon and Hunting Goddesses from the Olympian pantheon, along with a sacred unicorn, a half-god beast of the elves. This further enhanced her identity as the goddess of hunting.
“I love it so much! Thank you, Donald!”
Loving Cornelia’s outgoing and lively personality, she immediately rushed over, ignoring her status as a true goddess, and kissed Donald on the face. Then she rode her unicorn and went out to ride in the fields. Catherine, watching from the side, covered her mouth and giggled secretly.
Normally, unicorns only befriended pure virgins, but Cornelia’s innocent and pure heart made the half-god unicorn quickly accept her as its master.
Both the Land of Silver and the two goddesses were delighted with Donald’s gifts and immediately planned to build their own palaces in their respective domains.
However, since they were not yet very skilled at wielding divine power, Donald took on the actual construction work, while the two goddesses only needed to propose their ideas!
Catherine simply asked for a cozy manor to be built in her domain. She didn’t like solemn temples; she preferred a home-like atmosphere.
Moreover, following Donald’s advice, they chose to draw power from the laws themselves rather than relying on followers to rapidly increase their power like ordinary true gods, so they had few requirements for followers. There was no need for temples or altars.
In this way, even though they were gods within the humanistic system, they could avoid the constraints of backlash from faith and become freer and more carefree true gods.
Cornelia, on the other hand, demanded a castle—ones built on high mountains, looking mysterious and majestic.
With Donald’s abilities, both buildings were quickly constructed. As for the two goddesses, they took care of the decorations.
After the shock caused by the two true gods simultaneously ascending to their thrones, the astonishing news that the Natural Guardian had successfully risen to the rank of mid-tier god, and that the God of the Northlands and the God of Kingship had joined the newly established pantheon of nature gods, spread to all the gods in the Pantheon through the mouths of some neutral true gods.
When the true Celtic gods led by the King of the North first appeared, they added three true gods and several demigods to the ranks of the human gods, giving them more influence in the Pantheon. Today, the pantheon of nature gods already has seven official true god members, a remarkably strong lineup among various pantheons, making it the most powerful force beneath the higher gods. All of this was accomplished in less than twenty years, causing a huge sensation across the multiverse. The emotions of the gods—admiration and envy—were beyond description, while the deities of the evil factions openly showed their jealousy. As for the name for their pantheon, Donald originally wanted to use “Pantheon of Order,” but fearing it would attract the attention of the highest-ranking beings in the Pantheon and restrict his actions, he opted instead for “Pantheon of Nature.” He decided to announce his title as a higher god when the time came. After the merger of the god kingdoms, the members of the Pantheon of Nature collectively sent their wills to the Pantheon, making their official debut before all the gods. Generally, when a true god reaches the level of a mid-tier god, they can establish their own pantheon. However, since gods have independent thoughts, it’s difficult to force them to join one’s ranks through external means, unless they are subordinate gods one has trained themselves. As a result, few mid-tier gods actually establish their own pantheons. On the other hand, the powerful higher gods almost all have their own pantheons, and many weaker true gods are willing to attach themselves to such great beings. Whenever a true god creates a pantheon, the Pantheon assigns the true gods of that pantheon to the same faction area, with rankings determined by their divine status. The Pantheon of Nature was placed in the neutral faction area, where that small region belongs to the gods of this pantheon. At the top is the leader of this pantheon, followed by Donald, the Mid-Tier God Natural Guardian, who is on the third tier. Below him, on the second tier, are the King of the North, Charles the God of Winter and North Winds, and Cezar the God of Kingship, along with two goddesses: Catherine the God of Commerce and Cornelia the Goddess of Nobility and Hunting. Although these two goddesses do not hold thrones and are technically still considered new gods, since they obtained their own domains within the kingdom of the true god Natural Guardian, the Pantheon regards them as lower gods who have successfully claimed thrones and assigns them to the second tier.
On the lowest step of the Natural Deities tier sat the Eternal King, the god of Starfall Bay, Nozdorm, and the god of adventure and sailing, Sili. These two demigod totem gods should not have been present in the Pantheon, but since they also belonged to the Natural Deities tier and each had developed their own divine domains, their strength was on par with the newly risen gods, so they were recognized by the Pantheon and allowed to enter with their wills. In fact, if the totem gods from the New World were willing, they could also join the Pantheon and become true gods in the multiverse. However, those totem gods who were accustomed to their own way of existence and did not wish to join the Pantheon rejected this offer, preferring to remain as free and carefree totem gods in the main world. It’s like nobles who serve as lords in local regions—although they could go to the capital for better treatment, they don’t want to embrace the busy life there. With the establishment of the Natural Deities tier, many true gods, out of curiosity, were not very optimistic about it. Several divine factions would not allow the Natural Deities tier to grow stronger and thus encroach on the foundations they had painstakingly built in the main world. After all, the power of the Celts, Sili, and the Highland United Kingdom has now surpassed that of the Gardrel Kingdom and the major totem god tribes in the New World, making them the largest kingdom forces in the main world. If another powerful divine tier were to support them, there might be no room left for other forces in the main world! But they didn’t expect that, aside from allies like the Goddess of Agriculture, the Natural Deities tier also gained support from many neutral deities. At the same time, the two elf gods, Loki and Thor, came to assist Donald, marking the first time their wills descended to the Pantheon. Thor was one thing—having just returned to the rank of a lower god—but Loki, the god of fire and magic, was truly a higher god. With his arrival, even the higher gods on the upper tier had to rise to greet him. Many true gods grew wary and cast suspicious glances at the seat of the Elven Lord, who rarely descended to the Pantheon. Having managed to quietly cultivate two descendants of true gods, including one who was a higher god, Ignatz, this oldest of the higher gods was not only cunning but likely also far stronger than them! No wonder there were rumors among the gods that this Elven Lord had already taken half a step toward becoming a supreme god! With such strong support, the Natural Deities tier has firmly established its place in the Pantheon and is unlikely to be shaken.
Among them, the goddesses Wealth and Victory, at the invitation of the well-connected agricultural goddess Eilien, met with many goddesses from the neutral and benevolent factions and gained their goodwill. Meanwhile, the King of the North and the God of Kings also made many true gods among the neutral factions. Of course, all four of them knew that the natural gods’ successful entry into the Pantheon was due to the strong rise of their respective gods’ leaders and the support of those powerful entities behind them, rather than because they were particularly worth befriending.
