Chapter 671: Merger of the Divine Kingdoms
Under the astonished gaze of the King of the North and other deities, the fluctuations of laws within Cornelia grew increasingly intense. A white divine glow enveloped her body, signaling that a critical moment had arrived.
The more time a deity spent in centuries of cultivation to achieve demi-godhood or even become a new god, the better they understood the complexities of the laws governing the world and the difficulties of forging their divine powers. Thus, seeing a young woman under thirty ascend to such heights so easily naturally stirred mixed emotions among them.
Yet, every additional true god under Donald was good news for Sert. Despite their mixed feelings, Charles and Xizer, the two kings of Sert, felt primarily joy and relief. They were glad to have become friends with Donald, a being destined to become a legend among the gods.
The four domains Donald bestowed upon Cornelia were those of nobility, hunting, combat, and victory. Nobility was a domain he had originally mastered himself, leading to the creation of the divine artifact “Heart of a King.” However, seeing little potential in it, Donald paid little attention to it and sealed it away in the Codex of Gods. He wouldn’t take the easy path when there were also difficult alternatives—so it was perfect for Cornelia. After all, she had a legitimate noble background, descending from the ancient Bannay nobility and possessing royal blood as well.
The domains of hunting, combat, and victory were acquired by Donald during his first journey to the Totem Continent. Cornelia’s lively nature reminded him of elves in the forests, along with her competitive pride, so he selected these three domains from the list of laws in the Codex of Gods.
Although these three domains weren’t as closely aligned with swordsmanship or Cornelia as much, their potential for development was no less than that of the swordsmanship divine role. Moreover, the combat domain was related to various combat professions, and Cornelia was skilled in noble hunting. Coupled with her innate innocence, she was able to quickly forge the divine roles of nobility and hunting, rather than merely touching the edge of one.
Now, seven true gods were present—these seven were all the members Donald planned to include in his pantheon. As for Uther, the Holy Light Angel, and his most powerful true god, Astimos, the former remained the most loyal messenger of the Natural Guardians and had no intention of becoming an independent god. Yet, it was likely that no true god would dare underestimate this demi-god messenger with the strength of a new god.
As for the latter, due to the special nature of the Lord of Hell, it was not appropriate to reveal their true relationship. Thus, they maintained secret contact to prevent other true gods from guessing the truth. However, creating a pantheon is not something that can be accomplished overnight. Catherine and Cornelia, as true gods, naturally settled in Donald’s divine realm as their husband’s kingdom, but Charlie and Xize planned to create their own divine realms before merging them into Azeroth. There were also Sili and Nozdormu. Due to the uniqueness of the earth gods, or totem gods, they could only obtain relatively high privileges within Donald’s divine realm as the leader of this pantheon. As their roots lay in the main world, they could not stay in the upper realms for long. Therefore, after participating in the first pantheon meeting, the King of the Northern Lands and the God of Kingship in the demi-plane returned to the capital of Kosovo to prepare for creating their divine realms. They had already agreed with Donald that after initially establishing their divine realms, they would begin to ascend to their thrones. Once the divine realms were officially merged with Azeroth, they would announce the establishment of their pantheon. Donald provided strong support for this, knowing that the process of ascending to the throne, through trials and hardships, brought benefits to true gods comparable to those from altering laws when igniting divine flames. True gods who completed this ascent were stronger in combat than those who obtained divine realms through shortcuts in the upper realms, and they also had greater control over their divine realms. They were allies and members of the pantheon, but not vassals of Donald, so naturally, the stronger they grew, the better. This was also evident in Charlie and Xize’s actions, as after ascending to their thrones, both their strength and the expansion of their divine realms would bring significant benefits to the newly established pantheon. As for Catherine and Cornelia, they had obtained their immortal statuses with some external help, so the intensity of the backlash from the plane was quite strong. The difficulty of successfully ascending to their thrones was correspondingly high. Moreover, since both were his wives, they didn’t need to create their own divine realms. Donald directly granted them the highest privileges in divine realms and taught them all the knowledge he possessed regarding the rules of divine realms. Since Catherine and Cornelia were focusing on strengthening their own powers at this stage, only Donald’s newly created saintly avatars took care of their two children. Fortunately, although the children were only three years old, they were very sensible, not crying or making a fuss, but rather curious about everything, acting like little adults.
In response, Donald applied several child-rearing methods he had seen in past lives, which not only cultivated the children’s interests but also provided them with educational knowledge. The father and sons had a great time together, allowing Donald to deeply experience what family joy and warmth meant.
After such days lasted for a month, the two mothers ended their seclusion, gradually restraining their divine powers so as not to exert any harmful influence on their children through divine pressure.
With Donald’s half-plane and the earlier explanations about creating divine kingdoms, Charlie and Xize, the two newly risen gods, devoted themselves fully and quickly completed the initial establishment of their divine kingdoms. In particular, Charlie had transformed the Winter Wolf Divine Kingdom given to him by Donald into his own Frost Kingdom. It was nearly complete—only the rules still needed further refinement. Time was all that was required, not more divine kingdom space, so both half-planes were given to Xize, the God of Kingship.
After a short period of development, Xize’s divine kingdom, though still lacking complex natural landscapes, already covered an area comparable to that of ordinary lower gods who had just ascended to their thrones.
Thus, under the protection of the various true gods in the future pantheon, especially Donald, the leader of this pantheon, the two true gods jointly ascended to their thrones. They did this because their auras were similar and they shared the same bloodline, so it made sense for them to ascend together to avoid wasting time and introducing unnecessary variables.
Although the backlash from the realms caused by the two true gods ascending together increased, posing some difficulties, it was nothing significant in Donald’s eyes.
Now, with the World Tree serving as a link and its roots penetrating into the core of the main world’s origin, the Azeroth Divine Kingdom had established initial connections with the main plane, which grew stronger over time. This reduced the rule constraints Donald faced in the main world significantly. Coupled with his status as the son of a half-plane, he even gained the ability to manipulate certain realm rules and influence the will of the world.
Therefore, Donald reduced the excessive backlash from the realms, ensuring that Charlie and Xize could undergo challenging trials without truly facing danger.
