Chapter 626: Returning to the Abyss

Since accepting the Spider Queen’s invitation to launch a surprise attack in the Main World, where he not only gained nothing but also lost his only avatar and true divine artifact, the weakened God of Werewolves, Yenogu, had remained confined to his domain, refusing to go outside.
However, one day he suddenly received a message from the King of Ghouls, Dorisen, stating that there was important news to discuss. Yenogu trusted Dorisen to some extent—after all, without the protection of the King of Undead, Dorisen likely had no allies in the Abyss, and Oscar’s enemies would not miss the chance to crush his servants.
Still, adhering to a cautious approach, Yenogu waited for a few days to ensure there were no traps before entering the domain of the White Kingdom.
Unaware of what awaited him in the Ghouls’ Castle, as Yenogu stepped into the 421st layer of the Abyss, movements arose in the higher realms of Azeroth.
During this time, Donald had been familiarizing himself with the power of the Doomsday Mantra he had acquired. Yet, mastering such a power at the level of a higher god was no easy task. So far, he could only use the power of the Book of Doomsday to memorize one Doomsday rune at a time, allowing him to cast the mantra for attack. He would have to memorize it again each time he wanted to use it.
Just then, a golden leaf on his true form floated upward, glowing with green light, and soon the image of the Elven Lord appeared before him.
“Your Majesty Ignatz!”
This was the World Leaf left by the previous Elven Lord, Ignatz, when he had visited before. It served as a tool for communication and positioning, ensuring uninterrupted contact even across countless realms, and it could not be detected by any true god—not even those of higher rank. Thus, its value surpassed that of ordinary true divine artifacts!
Not to mention that the leaves of the World Tree themselves were also materials of high-grade immortality.
“Something major is about to happen in the Abyss!”
The Elven Lord’s first words piqued Donald’s interest.
“These days, every layer of the Endless Abyss has been searching intensively for the King of Undead. Even in the higher realms, many true gods have taken action! I guess this is all caused by you!”
Donald replied with a smile, “I had to cause some trouble for that King of Undead. After all, I accidentally ruined his plans!”

“The upper gods, including those three from the Abyss, are all aware that Oscar hasn’t completely perished or been revived after having perished. However, it’s not easy to completely kill a powerful being at the level of an upper god—this can be seen from Elza still being active in the multiverse after all these years!”
The Goddess of Night has faced attacks from many other true gods on numerous occasions, but aside from being sealed once, she has escaped for various reasons. This shows that beings at the upper god level have indeed surpassed ordinary true gods, approaching the realm of the supreme gods—true, eternal beings.
“Does Your Majesty mean Oscar is about to take some major action?”
The Lord of Elves, from the World Tree’s leaves, said, “Since this matter is likely directly related to you, my prediction this time is very clear!”
Next, Ignatius transmitted to Donald the possible outcomes he had foreseen. After learning of the situation, Donald’s expression changed several times before he smiled and said, “Oscar is indeed a problem. No matter which way things develop, it will likely be unfavorable for us. It seems I have no choice but to wade into this mess in the Abyss!”
Ignatius nodded and said, “That’s exactly why I’m informing you. It’s not appropriate for me to intervene, as it might draw in the other upper gods. So, it’s best to leave this task to you—the rising star among true gods! Most importantly, you possess immense power far beyond your rank, yet you remain within the realm of a lower god. Even if those others want to intervene, they won’t send beings above the lower god level. Moreover, there’s probably no upper god in the entire multiverse better at prophecy than me. By the time the other upper gods find out, you’ll already be on your way for some time. These two points are our greatest advantages right now!”
“Once you get there, go find that Storm Lord. From him, you’ll likely be able to learn the oldest secrets of the Abyss, which is crucial for our next moves. The success of this plan depends on this key piece of information!”
Donald understood, and Ignatius said no more, withdrawing his mental connection.
The World Tree’s leaf turned back into a golden leaf and fell into Donald’s hands. Knowing the course of events, he immediately summoned his Demon Hunter avatar to let his Saint avatar stay behind to guard the plane of Nordahl and take care of his wife and children.

For entering such an extreme environment as the Abyss, there is no better existence than a Demon Hunter avatar other than the true form. Donald handed over several items from his true form to the Demon Hunter avatar. Since their intentions were aligned, no verbal instructions were needed, and the Demon Hunter avatar immediately left the Divine Kingdom. With a teleportation, it arrived within the Endless Abyss.

Layer 422 of the Bottomless Abyss.

To deceive the lord of an Abyssal plane, ordinary teleportation methods would not suffice. Thus, Donald used the Spatial Artifact “Gate of Indefiniteness” from the Babylonian pantheon to communicate with the plane coordinates he had left in the White Kingdom. Without causing any major spatial disturbances, he successfully teleported to Layer 421 of the Abyss. Then, by leveraging the power of this advanced artifact to conceal his presence, he proceeded to Layer 422, the domain of Yenogu.

Upon entering Layer 422, Donald’s avatar appeared in the northwest part of Yenogu’s domain. Behind him lay mountain ranges with winds as sharp as blades, while in the distance to the east stretched a desolate, endless ocean.

Although this layer of the Abyssal plane is literally Yenogu’s domain, only the vast Dark Grasslands in the center and the Seeping Forest in the south are truly under his control. In reality, Yenogu is merely the nominal ruler of Layer 422 and cannot fully dominate this ancient demonic plane deep within the Abyss.

The Howling Peaks in the western part of the Dark Grasslands are occupied by undead creatures under the rule of the King of Ghouls. Of course, on the surface, they serve the King of Werewolves by contributing part of their strength as part of their submission.

The area north of the Howling Peaks also refuses to submit to Yenogu’s will. This place is known as the Ruins of Azar, remnants left by Azar the Enchanted, a powerful fallen angel who ruled this plane before Yenogu arrived.

Though he has perished and no longer exists, his lingering will, tainted by Azar’s blood and resentment, still lingers here, influencing the environment and maintaining its original desert landscape. Even Yenogu cannot drive it away.

This fact serves as a thorn in Yenogu’s heart, constantly reminding this werewolf ruler that he still has a long way to go before he can achieve a status akin to Osthadius or Grant.

He had a general understanding of this abyssal plane. Donald’s first step was to traverse a narrow path toward the east, to another place in Plane 422 that Yenogu had not fully conquered. To the east of the Desolate Grasslands lay an endless expanse of saltwater. The wolf-like people, who detested moisture and salt, never intended to approach this sea area—even the king of the wolf-like people, who had become a true god, could not change this. To realize his grand dream of ruling the world, Yenogu spent much time hunting creatures weaker than him in other planes or capturing mortals to enrich the slave population in his domain. Yet their barbaric nature made them careless; they treated slaves in a cruel manner, and among the countless mortals forced to toil, some persevered in their attempts to escape. Yenogu’s followers and other dangerous predators filled the Desolate Grasslands and the Weeping Forests, while the northern and southern ends were also frequented by the king of the wolf-like people. The undead sent by the King of Ghouls thrived in the Howling Peaks in the western part of the plane. Thus, for these mortal slaves, the safest direction was eastward. There lay a violent yellow sea, which the slaves called the Cursed Throat. The wolf-like rulers and their howling barbaric servants hated this soup-like sea and refused to approach its harsh waters. This gave those unfortunate slaves a chance to survive. However, since the marine environment in this abyssal plane was equally harsh, with far fewer marine creatures than in the material world, it was difficult to obtain sufficient food. So even after escaping cruel slavery, their suffering did not end. Donald’s purpose in coming here was to meet an ancient and powerful being. Little did the gods know, long before the mighty fallen angel Azar took control of this plane, it had been the domain of the ancient demon storm lord Bachard. Although betrayed and abandoned by new demons, who eventually severed Bachard’s connection to this plane and drained his life force, Bachard was one of the first powerful beings created by the evil abyssal will. Due to the favor—or curse—of the cosmic origins, he endured the agony of death for endless ages yet still failed to be completely destroyed.

Now, the massive and grotesque corpse of this immortal demon resembles a twisted, stranded giant whale, unable to move on its own, forced to lie under the scorching sun of this plane, over and over again. Its half-dead body lies on the coastal rocks, battered by violent hurricanes or treacherous winds and acid rain—punishments resulting from Bachard’s once-perfect control over the weather elements. This causes it to suffer from slow death and unbearable agony indefinitely. Only if this plane is destroyed or freed from the control of the Abyssal Will can the remaining will of this once-great being be released. Donald’s purpose in coming here is to make a deal with this ancient demon monarch. Although unable to speak, the remnants of Bachard still retain fragments of his once-vast consciousness. If he can communicate through telepathy, Donald believes he might obtain from this being some core secrets of the Infinite Abyss and information about those powerful demon monarchs that even the gods have never known.
