Chapter 416: Infiltrating the Divine Kingdom
A complete divine essence holds value far beyond those fragmented aspects of divinity. To obtain the divine essence of the God of Winter Wolves, Donald had to find a way to enter its divine kingdom. Such a risky endeavor would likely result in certain death even for other half-gods or powerful deities… A divine kingdom is the domain of an actual god, where they can exert even greater power by transcending their usual limits. For example, the divine kingdom of a mid-tier god is one that even powerful higher-tier gods would not dare to enter lightly. Meanwhile, the divine kingdom of a lower-tier god can enable its true form to approach the strength of a mid-tier god, allowing it to remain safe even under the invasion of three equal-ranked actual gods!
But Donald was different from ordinary people. In certain aspects, he had an advantage over most half-gods. Moreover, the God of Winter Wolves was now completely trapped, his strength drained to such an extent that his soul could not even break free from his physical body—this was an unparalleled opportunity.
Protected by the Power of Truth, Donald wasn’t too worried about being suppressed by the divine kingdom.
“Let me see what makes your kingdom of the Law God so special!”
With that, Donald used the power of Truth to envelop the entire body of the giant wolf, attempting to locate the entrance to its divine kingdom. Under normal circumstances, this would yield no results, as the location of a divine kingdom could be changed, and the God of Winter Wolves could escape detection if he resisted. But now, he was too trapped to even lift his eyelids, let alone evade or resist!
Thus, Donald easily found the entrance to the God of Winter Wolves’ divine kingdom—right at the location of the wolf’s heart.
Then, the Power of Truth fulfilled its most fundamental role: analyzing the rules and structure of the divine kingdom. Normally, this would require the immense power of divine fire and divine essence after becoming a half-god or even an actual god. But now, Donald accomplished it effortlessly with the help of the Power of Truth, performing even better than some powerful higher-tier gods. This was one of the main purposes for which this advanced divine artifact was created.
With the analysis and deduction of Truth, the rules of the divine realm’s outer wall soon could no longer hinder Donald. Truth merely emitted a burst of divine power, effortlessly opening a passage through the wall. Encased in the light of Truth, Donald transformed into a faint beam of light and entered the divine realm created by the God of Winter Wolves. As Donald had anticipated, it was an extreme world filled with ice, snow, and extreme cold. Since this deity controlled domains related to ice, snow, and cold, it was naturally difficult for him to create a divine realm with warmth and fire!
As soon as Donald stepped into the God of Winter Wolves’ realm, he felt a wave of cold hit him, and his strength was heavily suppressed, allowing him to utilize less than 50% of his abilities. Fortunately, he already possessed a perfect divine body and was protected by the barrier of Truth’s light, preventing him from being harmed by the laws of this realm. Ordinary warriors below legendary status would likely freeze into ice statues instantly!
Due to the realm’s rules, Donald couldn’t use any flying or teleportation abilities and could only move forward step by step. Thankfully, Truth continued to operate after entering the realm, analyzing its internal rules. With each step forward, Donald’s analysis deepened slightly. Every bit of insight gained reduced the realm’s suppression on him. If he could analyze 100% of the realm’s rules, he might even be able to harness the realm’s power for himself!
Without external obstacles, it wouldn’t take long before this realm fell entirely under Donald’s control! This was the power of Truth, a high-tier divine artifact. Although it was far inferior to other artifacts of different ranks in terms of attack and defense, its computational and deductive capabilities could rival those of gods. It was as if an additional god was assisting the artifact’s user in calculations—a powerful ability highly desired even by gods! Of course, this required sufficient divine power supply.
Analyzing such complex realm rules was extremely energy-consuming. Advancing by just 1% required Donald to expend at least 1,000 standard units of divine power. Fortunately, Donald didn’t need much divine power himself. Thanks to the prayers of the natives in the half-plane and the slave believers from the underground worlds over the past days, his divine power reserves were now comparable to those of a newly ascended god, allowing him to afford such expenses!
When the analysis progress of the Winter Wolf Divine Kingdom reached 10%, Donald felt that the pressure exerted on him by the kingdom had decreased by at least 10%. However, he also encountered some obstacles—clearly, the ruler of the kingdom didn’t want this intruder to succeed too easily.
The trouble Donald faced was a group of elemental creatures made of ice and snow, which could be called ice spirits and snow demons. Their actual strength was somewhat inferior to those encountered in the Arctic tundra, only at the silver level. But thanks to the advantage of being within the kingdom’s domain, these elemental creatures born within the kingdom had seen a significant boost in strength.
“A few gold-level guys trying to stop me?”
Feeling underestimated, Donald didn’t use magic. Instead, he drew his weapon and swiftly eliminated those elemental creatures!
But just as he finished killing them, a flash of light appeared, and an equal number of elemental creatures reappeared.
“Can they be revived infinitely through the kingdom’s rules?”
Donald found this interesting now—otherwise, just a few gold-level opponents would pose no challenge at all.
Theoretically, these elemental creatures born from the kingdom’s rules could be revived infinitely, though this required the kingdom’s ruler to expend some of their divine power. In other words, no matter how many of these creatures Donald encountered, as long as he eliminated them one by one, he could drag things out until the ruler ran out of divine power. At that point, the kingdom would be like an unguarded treasure trove, at his disposal!
But Donald didn’t want to waste so much time. After all, though the God of Winter Wolves had its divine power constantly drawn from it, it was a law god, and its divine power mainly came from itself and the kingdom, rather than relying heavily on followers like true gods from the outside world.
Donald could imagine that despite being weakened at the moment, the God of Winter Wolves still must have some reserve of divine power—a key to breaking free. A single mistake could easily give the opponent an opportunity.
So, if it came to a battle of endurance, it was unclear how long it would take to end things.
Deciding to end it quickly, Donald used the powerful mental domain ability attached to his soul-compatible sub-divine artifact, the Supreme Mind Computer. He used brute force to shatter all obstacles in his path and head straight for the core of the kingdom!
At this point, the ruler of the kingdom, the God of Winter Wolves, could no longer remain calm. It sent wave after wave of its creatures—ice and snow elemental beings or magical beasts—to block Donald’s path, seemingly endless in their efforts to stop him.
But all of these were practically no match for Donald. After all, the God of Winter Wolves, this evil deity, only knew how to gain strength by killing and devouring the fears and souls of mortals. It had not recruited any followers nor bred any more powerful forces within its divine realm. Thus, aside from the creatures naturally born in that realm, there was only the god itself as the sole combatant. As for the other creatures in the God of Winter Wolves’ realm, even the strongest were only at a legendary level. If the God of Winter Wolves could cultivate a few demi-god messengers or holy spirits to defend its realm, things would be completely different. Unfortunately, though this deity, born from winter wolves, possessed great spiritual power, it lacked the wisdom and thoughts of humans. It wasn’t that the God of Winter Wolves was stupid; rather, it rarely interacted with other true gods or intelligent beings because it saw most life forms other than itself as food. Who would spend time bonding emotionally with the carnivores they raised? So, it was sheer luck that such a God of Winter Wolves could become a deity, even a law god that appeared once in ten thousand years. But its ignorance of the outside world led to its tragic fate. First, it was sealed by the Archmage Lord Sera for bringing disaster upon the plateau people, becoming an additional power source for the Sky City and suppressed for ten thousand years without freedom. Then it fell into the hands of Donald, a human mage whose power far surpassed that of ordinary true gods, like a fat pig sent to the slaughterhouse—its life would be lost, and everything valuable about it would be taken apart and utilized! Faced with Donald’s straightforward and powerful attacks without any tricks, the God of Winter Wolves had no choice but to wait until the opponent reached the core of its realm, then fight to the death—its survival hinging on that single battle! It no longer wasted divine energy to revive those creatures of its realm, instead concentrating its strength to confront Donald head-on at the core. Without the obstruction of those creatures, Donald’s progress slowed slightly. The God of Winter Wolves had no idea what Donald was planning and could only passively wait for the invader to find a way in. In reality, Donald was buying time for Truth to analyze the rules of the divine realm. The more he understood those rules, the less pressure he would face in battle against the God of Winter Wolves later.
This is also the confidence that allows him to boldly enter the divine realm of the God of Winter Wolves alone. With the power of truth to overcome the constraints imposed by the realm’s rules, he is confident he can defeat a new god who cannot use his divine body, has lost too much of his divine power, and relies only on the strength of his soul.
