Chapter 30: The Crazy Stone – Section 10
Hei Fa did not return to Station 763 but went straight back to Death Star. Traveling day and night, the massive fleet moved through the vast star seas. After paying a huge price, it took Hei Fa less than a month to return to his starting point. But unlike when he left, he brought back a fleet—a huge fleet consisting of six Moor giant ships and five Swan-class warships, whose combined strength was equivalent to hundreds of ordinary human ships! When these massive Moor giant ships appeared in the outer space of Death Star, they caused an uproar throughout human society. Marshal Wick, who had been closely monitoring the developments in Region 31, was so shocked that he almost dropped his jaw.
You see, ever since the last Moor invasion when he captured one of their giant ships and spent days and nights analyzing it, he still hadn’t fully understood it. And now Hei Fa had brought back so many more of these giant ships—all intact, even with fully equipped crews! Wasn’t this utterly incredible? This situation left Marshal Wick utterly baffled—what kind of insane luck did Hei Fa have?
Of course, he had no idea how much Hei Fa had sacrificed for this. The five months of undercover infiltration involved dangers that ordinary people could hardly imagine. To this day, dozens of Blood Wolf pirates remained missing from Station 763. As subordinates of Lord Beck, they were obligated to stay at the station when their lord was away. In other words… they were hostages.
Of course, no matter how many powerful figures in human society were watching Hei Fa’s return, Death Star had no time for that. Because right now, nothing could be more important than Hei Fa’s return.
Eleven giant warships needed to be accommodated, all the Octopus crew members needed to be settled, and Hei Fa and his companions needed rest. Most importantly, there was something they had brought back… the Stone of Light and Darkness. A stone that could drive the Moors mad, a stone that determined the tragic fate of the Rockmen for countless years. It was also the reason why Hei Fa had to abandon his undercover plans and return early.
What secrets lay hidden within this stone? Or rather, what kind of power did it possess?
No one knows. Yet the entire Death Star—Twin, and even all the alien races that depend on it for survival—suddenly became active. They busied themselves around the mysterious stone taken out of the cabin. The Wandering Tribe even carved out a cave deep within the Death Star’s surface specifically for this purpose. Aside from those studying the magic machines, everyone else put down their work. Even Koko, who had been busy managing the Twin Market, didn’t forget to come over and ask what special resources were needed so he could prepare in advance.
It could be said that the entire Death Star now functioned like a machine, operating around this Stone of Light and Darkness. The vast resource advantages unique to the 31st Star Region also bolstered Blackhair’s confidence. Under such circumstances, he even issued an absolute order to the Black Prison Gang: results must be seen within three months, whether successful or not.
During this time, it was his rare chance to rest. In the highest tower of the Death Star, his room was packed. Long-absent Baroka, Monkey, and even Sulei were all gathered here, representing the pinnacle of power in the entire 31st Star Region. Faced with Blackhair after such a long time, they were all excited. Baroka immediately pulled Bloodpupil over to start drinking contests.
“Damn you! You just snuck away with the captain and left me behind. Do you think you can get away with that without punishment?” The obese Baroka had become even fatter, perhaps due to the favorable environment on the Death Star; his skin was so pale it seemed water could be squeezed out of it. It looked like a big clump of cotton. His right hand tightly wrapped around Bloodpupil’s neck, while his left hand held a huge glass of rum, causing Bloodpupil’s face to twitch.
This wasn’t the red wine they usually drank together. Swallowing such a large amount would likely knock him out instantly. So he dared not accept it, struggling desperately while staring at Blackhair in hopes he would come to his rescue.
Unfortunately, this time even Blackhair couldn’t help him.
Because Blackhair himself had been caught by the plaintive Sulei and the furious Monkey.
Needless to say, Monkey, as Blackhair’s longtime ally, was deeply resentful that Blackhair hadn’t taken him along this time. He had been holding back his anger all along, and now that he had the chance, he certainly wouldn’t let Blackhair off easily. As for Sulei, there was no need to say more.
Since following Hei Fa, she had borne heavy responsibilities as the only one with administrative skills. Almost all of Hei Fa’s assets rested on her delicate shoulders. Though she didn’t have to fight, she was still extremely busy, spending little time together year-round. After Bai Li’s incident, she even had no one to talk to. Loneliness became the main theme of her life. Under such circumstances, her resentment grew deeper and deeper.
After all, everything she did now was for the man before her.
Thus, a seemingly ordinary welcome party turned into a form of punishment. The poor Xue Tong and Hei Fa became the main culprits. Surrounded by a crowd, they didn’t know how much strong liquor they had been forced to drink. By the time they woke up the next day, Hei Fa’s head still hurt.
But what troubled him even more was what happened next. Just as he was about to get up, he suddenly felt a warm body in his arms.
Su… Su Lei!?
His eyes widened in shock. Hei Fa couldn’t believe what he saw. Yet the scene remained unchanged—beside him was that waterfall-like golden hair, and in his arms was a warm, soft, and elastic body.
On the entire Death Star, the only woman who could enter his bedroom was Su Lei!
Damn it! Hei Fa quickly pulled back the cover from her head only to find a beautiful girl sleeping peacefully with her eyes closed, a satisfied smile on her face. Her slightly raised lips and long eyelashes—who else could it be but Su Lei? Through the gaps in the sheets, Hei Fa could even see her smooth skin and curves!
She was naked!?
A dizzying sensation swept through his head. Hei Fa didn’t know how he left the room. When he regained consciousness, he was already by the beautiful lake on the Death Star. A gentle breeze blew, rippling the mirror-like surface of the lake. Sitting on a large rock by the lake, Hei Fa shook his head violently, trying to recall everything from the previous night. But no matter what he did, he couldn’t recall a thing.
After a long while, a bitter smile finally appeared on Hei Fa’s face.
It wasn’t regret or avoidance. Hei Fa simply felt powerless. After all, in his eyes, Su Lei was just a little girl. Though she had always shown him strong affection, he had never reciprocated. Subconsciously, he still saw her as an immature child.
But he had never noticed that this little girl’s actual age had long exceeded eighteen…
What exactly had happened last night, or maybe nothing at all. Hei Ba didn’t know. All he knew was that he had probably made a mistake—a mistake that could grow infinitely larger and make him hate himself.
He very likely had betrayed that beautiful girl…
“Head, what are you doing?” A voice came from afar. Hei Ba turned around and saw Monkey appearing not far away. He was swaying unsteadily, holding a wine bottle in his hand, clearly still suffering from a hangover from the previous night.
Shaking his head, Hei Ba suppressed the urge to ask questions. He stood up and waved his hand.
“Nothing. I drank too much last night and have a slight headache now. I came here to clear my mind,” Hei Ba replied casually, trying to act as usual, but for some reason, his heart felt increasingly empty.
“Hehe, you did drink quite a bit yesterday,” Monkey laughed, holding up the empty wine bottle. “But it’s your fault too. You went for such a long time without taking your brothers with you. Aside from Lan, who came back once, there was no word at all. Don’t you know how many people on Death Star are worried about you?”
“Lan?” Hei Ba was stunned, then smiled. “Where is he now? Didn’t you send him back again? If he goes back now that I’m not at Moore Star Station, he might be in danger.”
“Nonsense! We’re not as heartless as you,” Monkey shook his head in dissatisfaction and sat down beside Hei Ba. He picked up a small stone and threw it, creating ripples on the calm lake surface once again.
“We kept him here. After all, your request this time was quite unexpected. Changing the direction of equipment development takes time, and new equipment also needs to be organized. I figured you could hold on for a while, so I didn’t send him back right away. But that kid is really loyal; he keeps insisting on going back to help you.”
“Hmm, that’s good,” Hei Ba nodded in agreement. He raised his face to feel the gentle breeze, feeling much better.
“By the way, speaking of equipment, how’s Death Star coming along?”
“Haha, now you’re asking the right thing,” Monkey laughed loudly. “That’s the project I’m in charge of. I guarantee it’ll surprise you greatly.”
“Oh? Is it the completion of Thor’s Fortress?”
“That’s all old news! Head, didn’t you say it? What we need now isn’t fortresses, but mechs!! This time, let me show you our latest product!” The monkey tilted his head back and stood up, his eyes shining. “New magic machines!!”
