Chapter 9: New Forces, Section 4

“Boss, they’re charging in! Take Sister Hongyan and go quickly. Leave this to us.” A burly man, his entire body covered in blood, shouted at himself.
“Yes, boss! We’re not important. The core is what matters most. Only you can take it away from here. Go quickly!!” A thin, small man also shouted, his anti-vehicle sniper rifle firing nonstop, spewing flames backward.
“Captain… you… must go…” A lean young man with both legs missing crawled at his feet. Though drenched in blood, his strong hands still clutched a handheld nuclear grenade as he gasped heavily.
Behind them, a group of huge, ugly mutated creatures screamed frantically as they rushed forward at top speed. The narrow passage didn’t slow them down at all. Agile like monkeys, countless bullets turned their bodies into pools of blood. Screams, roars, explosions, and the roar of machine guns filled the air, with the stench of blood permeating everything.
The bloody scenes flashed before the black-haired man’s eyes like a movie, unbeknownst to him, making his eyes moist.
“Sulei, why haven’t you carried out the order? Go! I’m here.” Opening the fleet channel again, the black-haired man suddenly shouted.
“Mr. Blackhair…” Sulei’s voice was choked with emotion—her reluctance was obvious even to a fool. Meanwhile, Li Feng’s artillery fire continued fiercely, showing no sign of retreating. On the other side, Baroka’s heavy breathing could be heard clearly.
“Stupid woman,” the black-haired man cursed under his breath. His fingers moved swiftly, and a row of data flashed across the screen, instantly forming a diagram of Li Feng’s internal structure. Before their traces disappeared, he sent out a series of commands. Instantly, the massive Li Feng, like a madman, activated all its engine nozzles. A torrent of particles propelled it to its maximum speed, with all its turrets retracting, restoring its black camouflage.
“Huh…”
At the same time, like a swirling tornado, the mechs Ghost and Demon swiftly cut through the flames-filled space and arrived in front of a white warship.
It was a warship that had just completed its evolution and was the fastest among all white warships. The black-haired man wasn’t sure he could destroy it quickly, nor did he know what capabilities it possessed. But he had no choice.

Only by stopping this warship can their speed be reduced, giving Li Feng a chance to turn around and accelerate. Otherwise, it’s just a matter of time before they catch up.
No choice!!
Black Hair stared at the massive white warship beneath him, his gaze growing increasingly fierce.
With a soft click, two huge rocket launchers detached from Ghost’s shoulders and fell into the depths of space. Amidst the faint sound of engines, two equally massive multi-barreled rapid-fire howitzers slid out from the backpack behind the mech and slid onto Ghost’s shoulders, fitting snugly into their mounts.
To ensure this attack would be effective, Black Hair had sacrificed much of his mobility to equip Ghost with a full set of heavy firepower—now finally exhausting it all. A mech’s ammunition is limited; it can’t keep attacking forever. Behind him, the Demon with Blood Eyes did the same, loading rows of ammunition modules into its guns, leaving its backpack completely empty.
Yet the white warships weren’t invincible either. After so long of attacks by Li Feng, only five remained. If they could hold them off for a while, Black Hair believed Li Feng could regain the advantage. By then, wiping out these terrifying white demons wouldn’t be just talk.
“Blood Eyes, we might have to go all out this time. Do you regret it?” Black Hair murmured. Pressing the control lever, Ghost plunged downward like a diving fighter jet, its long engine exhaust trailing behind like a rainbow across the stars.
“Nonsense. Of course I regret it,” Blood Eyes’ voice came through the channel, filled with resentment. “If I’d met you a few years earlier, I wouldn’t have gotten bored enough to become a killer. These past few days with you have been thrilling. That ‘Kari’ was well worth it.”
The Demon followed closely behind Ghost, doing the same.
Suddenly!
As if sensing danger, the massive white warship below accelerated abruptly, shooting forward in an instant and leaving Ghost and Blood Eyes far behind. Its huge body then skillfully spun around in space, turning back around.
“Damn! How is this possible?” Blood Eyes exclaimed in shock, unable to believe his eyes.
After all, those white warships were enormous—each capable of holding hundreds of mechs. Blood Eyes never imagined they could move so nimbly and reach speeds so fast. Compared to this, the pursuit ahead seemed like a game.

But there was no time for Blood-Pupil to be surprised. The next moment, the dark-haired ghost also made a sudden change of direction, heading straight for the white warship. Amidst flashes of fire, countless grenades were ejected from its shoulders like a furious downpour, instantly sweeping over the entire front of the white warship.

Shards of armor scattered everywhere, and flesh flew in all directions. Blood-Pupil’s eyes were filled with thick green liquid. Before him, the white warship couldn’t withstand the violent barrage of bullets from the dark-haired ghost and its hull was torn apart. The writhing muscles inside resembled worms, causing disgust. The flames from the grenades scorched everything they touched, leaving behind charred ruins.

Sound couldn’t travel through space. But Blood-Pupil knew that if he could scream, his ears would surely be filled with agonizing wails at this moment.

Not daring to delay, Blood-Pupil immediately followed, his massive machine gun spewing long streams of fire. Two people, two mechs—spewing violent flames across space. Wherever they passed, white fragments flew like bullets. Writhing masses of flesh were torn apart, burned, and twisted. The massive warship was riddled with holes from the sharp weapons, turning it into something like a sieve. Despite trying to charge forward, it could never even scratch the armor of the ghost and the demon.

To the warship, the mechs were far too small targets. Perhaps the designers of these warships never imagined that such fearless mechs would dare to charge into the midst of these white demons.

Unfortunately, even though both the ghost and the demon were extremely powerful, their pilots were also unparalleled warriors. But ammunition was finite. Once all their firepower was exhausted, the dark-haired one and Blood-Pupil finally faced an inevitable fate.

“Boom!!”

Another intense explosion. The battered white warship instantly turned into a mass of thick green substance, completely enveloping the ghost and the demon. The highly corrosive fluid flowed over the surfaces of the mechs, burning deep, glaring grooves into them. This most advanced white warship finally became the fruit of their efforts.

But in the next moment, the once hunters became prey.

“Whoosh!!”

Countless muscular tentacles appeared in the starry sky, dense like a net, instantly wrapping around the dark-haired pair, who were immobilized by the slime. The powerful muscles contracted rapidly, squeezing the hard mechs like zongzi. The tentacles continuously secreted highly corrosive liquids, attacking the mechs’ remaining armor.

“It seems there’s no chance now.” Bloodpupil let out a long sigh, removing the mental control device from his head, his face showing a sense of desolation.
In his cockpit, a sour smell could already be detected. It was likely to burst at any moment—the high pressure caused by vacuum would instantly tear him apart, turning him into a mass of flesh from which his original appearance could no longer be recognized. Yet, for some reason, he felt no fear at all. Instead, he looked around, trying to find the spot that would corrode and break first.
At the same time, Ghost’s cockpit was also filled with smoke. Blackhair had long released the control levers and was lazily leaning back in his seat, smoking carelessly, showing no signs of tension.
“Bloodpupil, this is my mistake. I’ll buy you a drink when we get back,” Blackhair said lazily, before hearing Bloodpupil’s bitter laugh.
“You’re really good at joking, Head. If we can go back, you can ask me to buy you one too.”
Before his words faded, a giant tentacle suddenly retracted, pulling the two mechs backward. The front of a white warship that had been waiting there for a long time instantly split open, forming a huge maw. Darkness covered Blackhair and Bloodpupil’s vision in an instant…
On the other hand… in Li Feng’s control room.
The shrill alarms had stopped, and the room was completely silent, the atmosphere unusually oppressive. Staring blankly at the large screen, Su Lei’s eyes welled up with tears. Next to her, Baroka also stood there with his mouth wide open like a fool, unable to say another word.
Although Li Feng’s forces were retreating at full speed, the high-definition holographic device still transmitted the terrifying scene they had just witnessed. Watching Ghost and the Demon get instantly devoured, Su Lei could hardly believe her eyes. She froze like a stone statue.
“This isn’t real…” she murmured unconsciously. Her hands and feet were ice-cold, like blocks of ice.
“No, this isn’t real!! Turn around!! Baroka! Let’s go back and save them!! They must still be alive!!” Her unconscious murmurs instantly turned into frantic screams. The usually gentle Su Lei now acted like a madwoman, shouting wildly and shaking Baroka’s chubby body violently.
“Turn around! We still have time!!”
“It’s too late.” Baroka let Su Lei shake him, but his gaze never left the screen. On it, the remaining four white warships, after devouring Ghost and the Demon, seemed to realize something and suddenly turned around to leave at an astonishing speed.

“Bang!” A fat hand slammed hard on Sulei’s back of the neck, knocking the girl unconscious instantly. Baroka’s coppery voice followed.
“Kids, can’t we still control the warship?”
“Yes, leader!” The pirates replied in a chaotic mess.
“Then leave the coordinates here. Once we can control it, we’ll return immediately!” Baroka said through gritted teeth.
