Chapter 9: New Forces, Section 3

Black Hair’s voice was soft, yet everyone could sense the helplessness in it.
This was normal. After all, the enemy ahead was a new type of warship that had never appeared before, and it seemed to possess unknown abilities as well. The danger of launching an attack recklessly was obvious even without thinking.
Blood Pupil knew that truly experienced warriors were not afraid of how powerful or cunning their enemies might be. What they feared most was not knowing the enemy’s true capabilities. In past human expansion battles, 50% of losses occurred during the first encounters with unfamiliar races, which showed just how serious this was.
“Leader, I’ll go too,” Blood Pupil replied in a low voice as he stood up eagerly.
Behind him, Baroka seemed somewhat tempted as well. After hesitating for a moment, he remained silent. A faint change crossed his obese face unnoticed.
Suddenly… Sulei’s expression changed drastically as she exclaimed in alarm.
“It’s bad, Mr. Black Hair! They’ve been caught!”
“What?”
Startled, Black Hair glanced at the screen and saw that the three magic warships he had ordered to retreat first were now far behind, gradually being closed in by those terrifying white warships. Although they were pushing at full speed, as evident from the engine exhaust behind them, the speed difference meant they had no chance of escaping.
With a low sigh, Black Hair realized that those three magic warships were likely doomed to face close combat. The engines of magic warships simply weren’t powerful enough. Though highly agile, they lacked in straight-line speed. Even if they accelerated earlier due to Black Hair’s orders, it would be of no use in the end.
“Baroka, focus fire for cover. Save as many as possible. Blood Pupil and I will go out right away; maybe we can help them,” Black Hair said decisively before quickly disappearing into the corridor behind him.
“Boom!!”
A massive shockwave shook the ship violently. Black Hair, who had just entered the corridor, was caught off guard and slammed into the wall. His face turned pale instantly. He knew one of the warships was probably already destroyed. That intense shockwave must have been caused by an explosion. Even though he had anticipated the danger, he still underestimated it. He couldn’t fathom how the enemy could destroy magic warships with full armor strength so quickly.
With a cold snort, Black Hair pushed off forcefully and shot forward like an arrow.

The people in the control room were already stunned. Different from Black Hair, they had witnessed the entire attack method of the white warships on that huge screen from start to finish. It was a simple, primitive attack method—tearing apart. Those white warships could split vertically at the head, forming a massive maw that would bite down fiercely on the middle of a magic warship. The hard alloy armor seemed to vanish in their mouths, instantly crushed and deformed. Several white warships attacking one warship at once were like piranhas fighting over food. Such cruel and bloody tactics left everyone who witnessed it pale and horrified. A magic warship with full armor strength could theoretically withstand energy attacks of 300,000 degrees, yet it couldn’t hold out even ten seconds before being torn in half right before everyone’s eyes. The explosions from its engines and energy sources didn’t even scratch a single hair on those white warships. In the flames, those terrifying white demons rushed like bloodthirsty piranhas toward their next target. By the time Black Hair and Blood Eyes reached the outside, all the magic warships that had followed them had been completely reduced to debris floating in space. In their eyes, the appearance of the first few white warships was subtly changing—the color of their shells turned gray, their luster became brighter, and their originally spindle-shaped form became smoother, with a sharper head and a larger tail, resembling an arrow about to be launched. Their speed doubled instantly!! “Consumption! Evolution!!!?” Black Hair’s vision went dark, his shock beyond description. His hands instantly turned into countless shadows, typing rapidly on a virtual keyboard. Rows of data streamed down the screen like a waterfall. The engine hatches on the back of the Ghost Mecha opened completely, and it had already reached its maximum speed. Behind him, Blood Eyes’ new demon followed closely. Consumption and evolution were abilities unique to living beings. Earth Federation’s past experiments had indeed explored this direction, but they failed due to the inability to achieve precise control. Black Hair knew this, but judging from the appearance of those white warships, it was obvious they had consumed the energy cores of the magic warships to change. The implication was self-evident. Who was actually controlling them? For a moment, Black Hair felt a sense of confusion. “Dada dada dada…”

Intense gunfire echoed through the channel, with rows of bullets flying past Ghost in rapid succession, aimed straight at the rapidly approaching white warships. Blood-Pupil had already fired first.
It’s wise to be cautious when encountering unknown threats. How could Blood-Pupil, an experienced warrior, not know this? Though he doubted what those two mechs could actually do in such a situation, since he had followed Black-Hair, he was prepared to fight.
Time passed in an instant, and the several white warships, now moving much faster, grew ever closer to Li Feng. Despite Li Feng’s powerful firepower, he could no longer destroy them as easily as before. On the contrary, without any chance to turn around, Li Feng couldn’t even reach his maximum speed. Being caught up was only a matter of time.
“Huh…”
In a flash, Black-Hair and Blood-Pupil’s figures streaked through the starry sky, arriving close to one of the white warships.
At such close range, every detail of the white warship was exposed. The muscles writhing beneath its grayish shell seemed within reach. Even though they were inside the cockpit, Black-Hair and Blood-Pupil couldn’t help but feel nauseous. Even the air they breathed seemed to carry a foul smell.
But there was no time. Black-Hair and Blood-Pupil didn’t even have a chance to adjust. Ghost and Demon had already begun indiscriminate destruction on the massive warship.
Using mechs to fight warships was a highly effective tactic. Though huge warships had strong firepower, facing much smaller mechs was like an elephant swatting at mosquitoes—useless in terms of force. On the other hand, the specialized firepower of mechs could easily tear through the warships’ weak points, causing irreparable damage.
In fact, in past wars between Earth’s nations, 70% of warships were destroyed by mechs, while only 28% were destroyed by heavy artillery and fleet bombardment.
“Crack!” With a soft sound, Ghost pulled his hands back and crouched down. His massive shoulders suddenly opened, revealing a dense array of rocket warheads beneath. Immediately afterward, red lights flashed in his eyes, and countless hellish fire dragons poured out like a storm!! On the other side, Blood-Pupil’s new Demon performed the same action—his shoulders, head, and heavy machine gun fired simultaneously, creating another wave of steel fury.
“Boom boom boom boom…”

Intense explosions erupted one after another. As the two of them moved swiftly, two long trails of light were left on the white warships. Numerous shell fragments flew everywhere like bullets, hitting the armor plates of the mechs with crisp sounds.

The attack was extremely successful. Despite the fierce biting attacks from those white warships, they seemed utterly helpless against the two mechs that were closely entangled with each other. They could only allow the enemy to wreak havoc on their bodies at will. Beneath the rows of wounds caused by heavy fire, countless muscles writhed desperately, like maggots in a cesspool.

Considering the self-healing ability of those biological warships, Black Hair equipped Ghost with massive rocket modules, while Blood Eyes fitted the Demon Mech with incendiary ammunition. The effects were remarkable—but…

It was too disgusting!

Watching those writhing muscles, both Black Hair and Blood Eyes turned pale, feeling their stomachs churn violently.

“Slurp… Boom!!”

The huge warship could no longer withstand the onslaught from Black Hair and Blood Eyes and exploded in a loud blast. Countless viscous green liquids and writhing muscle fragments instantly covered Ghost and the Demon Mech completely. Black Hair and Blood Eyes could no longer bear the intense disgust and began vomiting violently.

“Head… Next time… I swear I won’t fight against these anymore…” Blood Eyes spoke intermittently, seemingly having vomited up his insides as well.

“Do you think… I want to?” Black Hair said the same.

Biological warships were indeed nightmares beyond what ordinary people could endure. Just this disgusting feeling was likely enough to cause nightmares. Yet Black Hair and Blood Eyes had no way to deal with it. After some time, those white demons had gotten even closer to Li Feng. By speed, they would reach contact in just two more minutes.

With an anxious expression on his face, ignoring the severe nausea, Black Hair opened the fleet channel beside him while vomiting and gave orders loudly.

“Sulei, Baroka. Stop firing immediately and flee at full speed!”

“Black Hair (Captain), what about you two??” The voices of the two of them came through the channel in shock.

“Ignore us. We’re smaller targets with a better chance of escaping. Execute my orders now.” Black Hair’s face was deathly pale, but his tone was stern as ice.

Because during that time, he had been horrified to discover that the exteriors of both Ghost Mech and Demon Mech already showed signs of melting. He never expected the solution and muscles from those white warships’ explosions to have such strong corrosive effects!!

The channel was abruptly closed, and the black-haired fingers moved again. Ghosts and demons rushed toward their next target without pause. On the screen was an evolved warship…
