Chapter 6: The Sealing Ball (Part 2)
The officer reported, “We’re about to enter the orbital path around the Capital Planet!”
Guo Shier said calmly, “Forget about orbits. Just dive straight into the Capital Planet’s atmosphere!”
The officer replied, “Yes!” Then he asked in a low voice, “Can we… can we go into the lifeboat now?”
Guo Shier waved his hand. “Once the automatic navigation is set up, you can leave.”
The officers were overjoyed. They had thought Guo Shier wouldn’t agree, but to their surprise, he was so decisive. They immediately got to work. A few minutes later, they rushed outside and entered the lifeboat. By then, the spaceship had already entered the atmosphere.
With several thuds, the lifeboat was ejected from the spaceship. The ship itself trembled violently as it forced its way into the atmosphere, suffering severe damage—yet no one cared. Li Ran said, “Let’s go. Don’t stay on the ship.”
They quickly left the ship and watched it plunge toward the Capital Planet. The front of the ship gradually glowed, emitting a dazzling red light. The lifeboat carrying the officers also left a red trail in the atmosphere, hurtling toward the Capital Planet like a meteor.
Li Ran and the others hovered in the air, watching the ship disappear into the distance.
Soon after, they saw countless beams of light shooting from the ground, blasting the ship into sparks. Even the lifeboat couldn’t escape, exploding like a firework.
Guo Shier sighed, “Pretty ruthless!”
Wang Dayang said, “There are huge armies on the ground. Strange—don’t they know that ordinary troops are useless against us?”
Li Ran replied, “That’s their only hope. Even if it’s useless, they refuse to give up.”
Wang Dayang shook his head. “How stupid.”
Guo Shier said, “They don’t want this either, but they’re stuck. Hehe, at this point, we’ve taken the initiative. I wonder if they have advanced combat forces. If they do, they might still fight. If not… well, they can just wait to be crushed by us.”
Selin suddenly blurted out, “Rob them all!”
Everyone was stunned, then burst into laughter. The habit of robbery had taken root in the team’s hearts—even Selin was influenced; her first thought was to loot.
In fact, robbery wasn’t the goal. The team’s aim was to strike at the United Spirit Kingdom—whether by destroying its large fleets or raiding its capital planet, it was all to force them to submit. Once the enemy could no longer bear it, they would either come out to negotiate or hide like cowards. At that point, the group could leave smoothly.
By this point, the United Spirit Kingdom had completely lost control. Most of its leaders had fled, with only a few remaining in the capital planet to command the troops and maintain order; otherwise, the entire capital would fall into chaos. They had also invited many Secret Clan experts, offering huge rewards, but so far only a few had arrived. A few of these experts went to the space battlefield and, upon seeing Li Ran and the others destroy a large fleet, were so terrified that they immediately fled back to the capital planet.
When the battlefield footage was sent back to the capital, the entire leadership panicked. The enemy was far too strong—even the Secret Clan experts were intimidated. With so few fighters, they dared not go and were waiting for more experts to arrive.
Li Ran said, “Let’s go down.” The group reformed into a five-star formation and descended toward the ground.
In just a few moments, the seven of them landed on the surface.
It was a hilly area with lush trees and an excellently preserved environment. There were no signs of people, though occasionally white trails could be seen in the sky—likely left by spacecraft. Streams flowed on the ground, and small animals could be seen among the grass and trees. The chirping of birds created a profoundly peaceful atmosphere.
Guo Shier took a deep breath and said, “It feels great to be on the ground.”
After spending so much time in space, landing brought back all sorts of new sensations, as they were accustomed to life on the ground. Moreover, in space, they had to consume some of the altar’s energy. Back on the ground, not only did they not need to use that energy, but they could also regain it. That’s why, after several space flights, the seven of them liked to go to planets to spend time there—it was much more comfortable than staying in space.
Li Ran took out a map of the capital planet, which they had prepared in advance. He first located himself and said, “Heh, we’re about 2,000 kilometers from the capital… quite close, just a few minutes’ journey. Should we charge in directly or start with the surrounding cities… There are 700 cities in the capital planet, with over 60 being large cities. The largest is the city where the capital is located—Ling City.”
Qi Wuzhen smiled and said, “Of course we should go to Ling City. Going to other places… is pointless.”
Guo Shier said, “I have no objections. As the capital of a level-7 star nation, I’m sure there must be plenty of loot for us to grab.” He kept thinking about robbing, and Cecilin, influenced by him, was now eager to do the same.
Li Ran said, “Don’t be so optimistic. I guess traps have already been set there.”
Guo Shier dismissed this idea, saying, “Even if there are traps, we still have to go in. Well, let’s think—just storming in… it’s not worth it. Who knows what strange tactics those Secret Clan experts might have?”
Qi Wuzhen said, “It’s simple. I’ll set fire to it, and all the traps will be destroyed.”
Everyone broke into cold sweats. This woman’s fire wasn’t ordinary—it was ritualized talisman fire. Once unleashed, it could directly trigger the magma underground, causing it to erupt. That would truly be extreme.
Li Ran nodded. “That works too. But we need to control the fire a bit— we can’t burn down the entire city. We still need to steal some things.” The materials they had used along the way had cost him a lot, and he couldn’t accept not getting any replenishment.
Guo Shier smiled. “A level-7 star nation must have plenty of good stuff, right?”
Kumu shook his head. “Not necessarily. The truly valuable things have probably been moved already. It depends on how much they managed to transport.”
Guo Shier said, “We’ll find out once we get there. Let’s observe from outside the city first; otherwise, we won’t understand anything.”
Li Ran nodded. “Okay.” The group formed a formation and used teleportation several times to reach the outskirts of the capital planet.
It was a truly massive city, covering thousands of square kilometers. It was a three-dimensional city with not only skyscrapers but also numerous floating platforms and various modes of transportation, leaving people in awe. It was also a metal city—most of its buildings were made of metal, with only a few built from rock and wood, which were the highest-class residential areas. There were few soldiers and defensive fortresses in the city; it was almost unguarded. Guo Shier figured out the reason after a brief thought: if enemies reached here, even the strongest defenses would be useless. Not to mention the long-range attacks from starships in space, even ground forces and warriors equipped with various weapons would be enough to destroy the city’s defenses. So, it was simply unguarded. If enemies could reach here, it meant they had either retreated or given up.
Li Ran said, “The entire city has over 100 million residents. I estimate… at least 10 million need to flee. Even so, the city is still huge.”
Hanging about ten meters above the ground, the seven of them stood out sharply. According to Guo Shier, if any experts from the Secret Clan saw them, someone would surely come over, so the seven of them merely pointed and observed this massive city from outside the city walls.
This city left Guo Shier in awe—it was the largest and most advanced city he had ever seen. Under the sunlight, the entire city emitted a dazzling glow.
“There’s a beauty in this metal!” Guo Shier remarked in admiration.
Ku Mu asked, “No one has come out, nor has anyone come to inquire. This place is really strange. Such an important city—doesn’t it have any guards?”
Li Ran said, “It is indeed a bit odd. There are no soldiers at all…”
In fact, there were soldiers here, but they were hundreds of kilometers away, and Ling City hadn’t been fortified at all. In Ling City, a group of Secret Clan experts had set up an ambush. They had also spotted Li Ran’s team and were preparing to intercept them.
These Secret Clan experts numbered around a hundred, including several top-tier fighters. Of course, they were far inferior to Xing Yunzi, but this was already the best they could gather with the help of the United Ling Kingdom. No matter how wealthy the United Ling Kingdom was, it couldn’t bring in true top-tier experts—that was a privilege reserved for eighth-level star nations.
Guo Shier laughed and said, “Sister Zhen, it depends on you.”
Qi Wu Zhen smiled and said, “You mean you want me to trigger the underground magma to force them to come out?”
Guo Shier clapped his hands and laughed, “That’s right! Hehe, if the magma erupts, I believe… they definitely won’t be able to stay hidden.”
Qi Wu Zhen replied promptly, “Okay, wait.” With that, she cast countless spells. Numerous runes fell to the ground, causing it to shake violently. Gradually, cracks appeared on the surface, and soon, magma burst forth.
In an instant, massive amounts of magma gushed out, surging wildly. Under Qi Wu Zhen’s command, the streams of magma rushed toward the city.
Guo Shier exclaimed, “Damn, Sister Zhen, you’re really insane!”
Qi Wu Zhen frowned and asked, “Shier, what did you say?”
Frightened, Guo Shier hurriedly said, “Uh, Sister Zhen, I didn’t say anything… Hehe, hehehehe…”
Seshilin couldn’t help but burst into laughter. It was rare to see the usually dominant Guo Shier look like this. To be honest, Guo Shier was indeed a bit afraid of Qi Wu Zhen. Ever since he first saw her terrifyingly powerful abilities, he had always harbored doubts in his heart.
Qi Wu Zhen smiled slightly. Of course she knew the fear in Guo Shier’s heart. Smiling, she asked, “Shier, what are you afraid of?”
Guo Shier thought to himself: This woman is a pervert. How dare she ask me what I’m afraid of?
