Chapter 8: Slaughter (Part 1)

Once donned, Royal Armors were enormous in size. In front of them, Guo Shier was like a rabbit, while the Tianling clan members equipped with Royal Armors were like lions—the difference in size was staggering. Royal Armors could reach six to seven meters in height, with some even reaching ten meters. According to the Tianling clan, dealing with a master like Guo Shier could be as simple as slapping him to death. Yet, upon first meeting, Guo Shier already dealt them a severe blow.

After knocking one down, Guo Shier instantly teleported behind another Royal Armor. This time, he didn’t split the Moon Blade but held it as a massive sword five to six meters long, sweeping down from behind. The Tianling master reacted quickly, diving forward and crashing into an abandoned building to escape the slash. Yet he wasn’t fully safe—the blade still cut off a piece of his armored shoulder.

Instead of succeeding, that strike severed several Tianling clan members who appeared to be followers in two. Without even looking, Guo Shier rushed to the last Royal Armor and slashed down, shouting, “Die!”

The Tianling master was terrified. Guo Shier’s speed was unreal—within a breath, three Royal Armors left only him standing, leaving him utterly demoralized. Any master understood one truth: in battle, even if weaker, one must never lose courage. Without it, even with 100% strength, only 80% could be utilized. In that moment, the Tianling master was completely terrified. He dared not fight Guo Shier and fled desperately backward.

The Tianling clan members gathering from all directions were shocked beyond measure. They had witnessed an unbelievable scene: a tiny figure like a rabbit forcing a Royal Armor the size of a lion to retreat continuously, letting out panicked screams. What shocked them even more was that when the tiny figure swung down, the Royal Armor foolishly raised its arms to defend itself in panic, not even activating its armor defenses.

One slash—clean and decisive.

The Royal Guards were forcibly split in two by this slash, with blood spraying out instantly. Guo Shier turned to look at the Tianlingclan members gathering around him, grinned fiercely, roared, and began chasing after them with his moon blade. The Tianlingclan members around him panicked completely, crying and fleeing in all directions. They saw that the opponent could kill their top experts as easily as killing chickens, so of course they couldn’t stay calm; their only thought was to run as far as possible.

Those surrounding Li Ran also panicked. Li Ran became even more ferocious. There were as many as eight Royal Guards surrounding him, but he killed six of them in a row, while the other two were too scared to approach. Seeing the opponent effortlessly kill the six strongest experts in their clan, the two immediately turned and fled.

The Tianlingclan experts surrounding Qi Wu Zhen were already terrified before they could form a siege. Qi Wu Zhen was surrounded by flames. She didn’t even need to attack actively—whenever she moved, any Tianlingclan member who entered the flame range turned to ashes. They couldn’t even scream more than once before being completely destroyed. Finally, some Royal Guards came forward, but Qi Wu Zhen shot out two flames that burned them like torches. They screamed and fled into the distance, only to have their entire group melt before they could go far.

It was Sericeline who truly fought bravely. She swung her dual knives, bringing the sharp attacks of the Blade Clan to their extreme. Unfortunately, her strength was limited, and she couldn’t intimidate her opponents. More and more people surrounded her, and she had already taken several hits. After being injured, her movements slowed down. Even after killing over a dozen Tianlingclan members, she was at her limit and immediately let out a shrill cry for help. This was the agreement she had with Guo Shier—whenever in danger, she would emit such a cry so that Guo Shier could find her.

Guo Shier was still chasing the Tianlingclan members when he suddenly heard Sericeline’s cry. He immediately realized what was happening. The three professionals weren’t afraid of the Tianlingclan, but Sericeline’s strength wasn’t enough. He immediately changed direction and teleported to where Sericeline was.

Sericeline watched helplessly as a Royal Guard approached. Without even using a weapon, the man simply slammed his palm down. Sericeline darted forward, slipping under the man’s arm. With a loud crash, the palm hit the ground. The Royal Guard’s palm was as big as a round table for ten people, causing the ground to collapse. Sericeline was terrified, sweating profusely and continuing to emit shrill cries.

Boom!

A giant foot swept across violently. Serceline didn’t dare use her long sword to block it. With her intelligence, she understood that if she tried to defend herself with the sword, she would likely be knocked to the ground, and then she would become easy prey for her opponent to do as he wished. So she tried her best to avoid it. Soon, she realized that the guy dressed in royal armor was just teasing her. He wasn’t using any special attacks from the royal armor but relying on its immense strength to overwhelm her.

Serceline was furious, but her remaining sense told her it was best to wait for Guo Shier to arrive; otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to hold on. So she kept dodging, refusing to engage in a direct fight, hoping to buy some time.

Hearing Serceline’s screams, not only did Guo Shier arrive, but Li Ran and Qi Wu Zhen also rushed over. After all, Serceline was part of their team. Li Ran and the others were extremely protective of their own people. Anyone who dared to bully them would have to face their brutal revenge.

The first to arrive wasn’t Guo Shier but Li Ran, who was closer. He suddenly appeared above the man in royal armor. A sharp spike, eight meters long and as thick as a bowl, plunged down from the sky, piercing straight through the man’s head and pinning him firmly to the ground. Then came a barrage of attacks. Soon after, Guo Shier appeared and joined in the fierce killing spree. Before Qi Wu Zhen could arrive, the people of the Tianling clan around them had already been completely defeated.

Serceline’s whole body was weak, with multiple wounds from which blood kept flowing. Guo Shier picked her up, took her to a relatively flat area, set her down, and gave her a pill to eat. He then said, “Idiot, if you can’t win, why didn’t you call for help earlier?”

Serceline sighed inwardly and said, “I… I didn’t want to hold everyone back.”

As Guo Shier cleaned her wounds, he said, “You already have. Idiot, if you can run, run. Is it really necessary to fight to the death?”

Serceline’s face turned slightly red, and she fell silent. Despite Guo Shier’s constant insults of “idiot,” she could sense the concern behind them. No one had ever cared for her in her life—everyone either had ulterior motives, either coveting her beauty or interested in her strength. She had never received pure concern before. It wasn’t until this moment that her heart truly settled down.

The talisman pills of talisman practitioners are treasures desired by all races. Guo Shier has countless of them. He used to refine some himself, but now he hands them all over to the old man Shuai. Whenever the old man Shuai has free time, he will refine some talisman pills, most of which are of high grade. So Guo Shier uses talisman pills without hesitation, giving Sericlin the best ones.

With Guo Shier’s help, Sericlin bandaged her wounds and, after taking the talisman pill, her body recovered quickly. The magic of the talisman pill became evident immediately—within a few minutes, she felt her strength return, her body once again filled with energy, which surprised her greatly.

Qi Wuzhen arrived at this point and glanced around before asking, “Did we drive them away?”

Guo Shier replied, “We’re running out of time. There’s no time to search this place anymore.” He was annoyed with the Tianling clan—these guys had delayed them for over twenty minutes, leaving no chance to find useful clues or items.

At that moment, the dark dots in the distance could be seen clearly, much larger now, and seemed about to catch up.

Li Ran said, “Strange, the speed of the Void Worms seems much faster…”

Qi Wuzhen said, “Forget it. Let’s leave here. Hmm, I’ll capture a few prisoners; we need to learn some things.” The terrain they knew ended here, and so did the remaining map. Without a map, they didn’t know where to go next. But since the Tianling clan had sent a large force, it meant they knew the way and must have a map.

Li Ran said, “Let’s move together, or we won’t make it to meet up.”

Guo Shier said, “Okay, let’s move together. I was careless just now and put Sericlin in danger. It’s safer to stay together.” With four people, they weren’t a burden to each other.

The four rushed toward the city center, where there should be a large number of Tianling clan members.

In just a few moments, they rushed into the city square, filled with countless machines and large groups of Tianling clan members. The four flew above the square, and Guo Shier without hesitation swung his sword, cutting down a flying ship. The ship crashed loudly, splitting into two, and all the Tianling clan members were terrified.

Guo Shier shouted, “I want to see the high-ranking members of the Tianling clan! Come out immediately!”

Li Ran said calmly, “If they don’t come out, I’ll kill every last Tianling clan member in this ruins!”

Qi Wu Zhen sneered and waved his arm, causing the machines of the Mechanical Clan to immediately catch fire. After all, they were made of metal, yet they ignited on their own. In an instant, huge flames shot into the sky as the machines melted rapidly and collapsed, the molten metal forming streams of red heat.

This scene terrified the people of the Tianling Clan to the core. They had no idea where these individuals came from. Each of them was extremely powerful, capable of wiping out their entire race with a single move. If all four of them attacked at once, they would likely be able to destroy every last member of the Tianling Clan. They also recognized the races of these people: three spellcasters and one swordmaster. Their identities were too obvious—it was a force they could not withstand.
