Chapter 10: Restrictions of the Other World (Part 2)
Mizelan shook her head. “I still don’t know who’s going to be unlucky. Otz, Boshlod, you two stay on guard. I’ll see just how strong this kid is.” As a Holy Mother, she disdained the idea of the three of them attacking Guo Shier. Yet she didn’t underestimate this unbelievably young kid either—she was confident she could kill him.
Otz and Boshlod stepped back a bit. Mizelan flew to ten meters in front of Guo Shier. By now, she no longer showed any signs of old age; from the outside, she looked like a middle-aged woman. Though her blond hair was still thin, there was not a trace of frailty in her appearance.
With the Moon Blade and Umbrella Tower for protection, Guo Shier still planned to use the Soul Calming Cauldron against his opponent—it was extremely useful. He said, “Come on!” The Soul Calming Cauldron suddenly grew to over a meter in height, hanging above the altar. He waited for Mizelan to strike.
……
Qi Wu Zhen quickly left with Ezek and Meili, reaching a place a hundred miles away in moments. She found an open area to land in, sat down immediately, and said, “Protect me!” Then she began chanting silently. She realized that after using the fire sacrifice, the power of this world not only suppressed her own strength but also invaded her soul.
Ezek and Meili watched the glowing runes in the distance. They divided their tasks: Meili sat beside Qi Wu Zhen to keep watch, while Ezek flew into the air to defend.
After about a few minutes, more than a dozen people suddenly rushed out from underground. They spotted Qi Wu Zhen sitting on the ground at first glance and charged at her. Ezek descended from the sky with a roar, shouting, “Meili, you don’t need to act—these are all mine!” He plunged headfirst into the crowd. Instantly, his arms thickened, scales appeared on his body, and his hands turned into massive claws. He roared, “Get lost!”
His claws seemed capable of tearing apart space, creating afterimages. In an instant, the two people were torn to pieces.
Meili also began to transform, her upper body turning feral as she stared intently at the crowd. Ezek moved through the crowd, countless weapon blades striking him, tearing his clothes to shreds yet failing to harm his skin.
Suddenly, the ground rose up not far from Qi Wu Zhen. Meili rushed over immediately. She stomped hard on the ground, causing the entire area to shake. A dark patch appeared on the ground—someone had tried to emerge from beneath, only to be crushed into pulp by her foot, their blood staining the soil dark.
……
“Smash!”
The massive Soul Calming Cauldron crashed down with a thunderous sound. Mizelan’s eyes seemed to blaze with fury—she never expected Guo Shier to use such a bizarre object to attack her. The thing was at least ten meters tall and possessed a strange sucking force that prevented her from moving. She frantically waved her curved sword in the air, trying to ward off the falling Cauldron.
Boom!
Mizelan’s entire body was violently smashed downward, plunging deep into the ground and leaving behind a hole in human shape. With just one strike, she suffered a severe loss. Initially, the Soul Calming Cauldron was only one meter tall and seemed unimpressive, but as it fell, it suddenly expanded to ten meters high, causing Mizelan to suffer a devastating blow.
Ots and Boshlod’s eyes turned red. They didn’t have time to rescue her and could only watch helplessly as the Holy Witch was crushed into the ground. Enraged, they rushed at Guo Shier simultaneously.
Guo Shier sneered, pointed at the Soul Calming Cauldron, and sent it charging toward the two of them. The Cauldron could be adjusted in size; at this moment, it had reached twenty meters high. It resembled a ten-thousand-ton hydraulic press, its sheer weight enough to intimidate anyone. Ots and Boshlod attacked frantically, but upon hitting the Cauldron, their attacks were instantly shattered by its radiant light, leaving them unable to even delay its advance.
The Soul Calming Cauldron slammed forward with force. Ots and Boshlod, unaccustomed to the combat tactics of the Spellcraft World, would have tried to evade such a situation if they were professionals there. Unless they were confident they could shatter or repel the opponent’s sacred artifact, they would never engage head-on. Such heavy sacred artifacts could injure anyone who touched them.
Bang! Bang! Two loud impacts echoed.
Ots and Boshlod were flung backward like kites with cut strings, their bodies cracking with loud noises as all their bones were shattered. Before they could even scream in pain, they lost consciousness. After all, the Soul Calming Cauldron was twenty meters tall and weighed tens of thousands of tons. Under its full force, they were as if struck by a high-speed fighter jet—unless they died, they would surely be severely injured.
By then, Mizelan had flown up from the ground. Her condition was dire—her legs were shattered into countless pieces, but fortunately, she could still fly. She stared intently at Guo Shier, still puzzled as to how he could control such a heavy object, making it impossible to approach. As soon as she took off, she saw the Soul Calming Cauldron charging toward her.
Having suffered a severe loss once, Mizelan dared not collide with the Cauldron again—it was too terrifying.
……
Zhen Wuji killed two people in a row, moving with ease while occasionally launching surprise attacks on others. He was highly skilled in close combat. Back in the Great Abyss Pool, he had dared to charge into a swarm of beasts to fight. Dealing with these barbaric spirit masters was a piece of cake for him.
The most pitiful one was Halaji. He injured a master but couldn’t kill him immediately; when the opponent got close, he had to self-destruct. Fortunately, he deployed his altar. Although this didn’t harm him, the power of this world quickly invaded his altar, reducing his composure.
Goha and Yao Zebusong also fought hard. Even with their altars in use, the opponent’s relentless determination scared them and disrupted their performance. Moreover, whenever the opponent was injured, their first reaction was to self-destruct, making them extremely difficult to defend against. They too were affected by the power of this world, and controlling their altars became increasingly difficult.
Li Ran quickly killed most of the masters, leaving only three. These three showed him the true strength of the world’s masters: one was Yahemei, another was Wuweike, and the third was Duoe. The rest had either been killed by him or self-destructed.
Yahemei never expected his team to suffer such a crushing defeat. In less than fifteen minutes, most of them were dead or injured. His eyes turned blood-red, and the veins on his neck pulsed violently, yet deep down he felt utter despair. The opponent was incredibly strong; killing them was as easy as killing chickens. The three of them fought desperately just to survive. This was even after Li Ran had dealt with the others. Once his subordinates were nearly wiped out, Li Ran turned his attention to them.
…
Guo Shier also sensed something was wrong. The power of this world was extremely strange. Once it invaded the altar, the entire soul became heavy. He tried several times to use the Soul Calming Cauldron to attack the opponent, but after suffering a setback once, Mizelan refused to block it anymore and simply fought calmly around.
Ots and Boshilode gradually regained consciousness. Most of their bones were broken, leaving them completely paralyzed on the ground, unable to do anything but watch Guo Shier and Mizelan fight.
Guo Shier didn’t dare unleash his Spirit Beast. This world was too strange, and he feared it might cause unpredictable changes. Besides, Mizelan was already severely injured, so he didn’t need to use his ultimate weapon. After some thought, Guo Shier put away the Soul Calming Cauldron. Since he couldn’t hit the opponent and considering the power of this world, he decided to fight with his Moon Blade instead.
As soon as Guo Shier put away the Soul Calming Cauldron, Mizelan breathed a sigh of relief. The device exerted immense pressure on her, as if she were trying to attack someone behind a mountain, giving her a sense of utter powerlessness.
Mizelan floated in the air, her legs swinging back and forth, looking very eerie. The moment Guo Shier put away the Soul Calming Cauldron, she launched her strongest attack.
The curved blade suddenly emitted a dazzling light, accompanied by continuous cracking sounds. It shattered into countless tiny rays of light, instantly forming a stream of light. Mizelan kept spewing blood, and the stream of light immediately took on a red glow—this was the aura of blood evil. Mizelan screamed, “Go! Strangle him!” and shot it toward Guo Shier.
Guo Shier suddenly felt a pounding in his heart; this seemingly insignificant stream of light actually gave him a sense of danger. Without time to use the Soul Calming Cauldron, he immediately activated the Umbrella Tower Sacrificial Treasure, with rings of light spreading out. At the same time, the stream of light struck him, and with a loud crash, his altar was flung away.
Guo Shier realized he had been careless. The Umbrella Tower Sacrificial Treasure had blocked the attack but not the impact, which was why he had been thrown aside. Below where he flew was Boshi Lod.
In this battle, Boshi Lod had yet to fully unleash his abilities when the Soul Calming Cauldron dealt a blow that took away most of his life force, filling him with extreme anger. So when he saw Guo Shier hundreds of meters above him, he thought his chance had come. He desperately channeled all his brute spiritual power, causing his body to soar upward.
Guo Shier’s soul energy kept fluctuating. He immediately noticed Boshi Lod rising, but separated by his own altar, he didn’t have time to dodge. With a thought, countless tentacles extended from beneath the altar. Guxi Bi’s tentacles could not only attack but also defend.
Boshi Lod didn’t even use a weapon; he just kept climbing upward. As soon as he got close, he was caught by Guxi Bi’s tentacles. In that instant, the guy bravely self-destructed.
Guo Shier suffered a heavy loss. Guxi Bi’s tentacles flew wildly, with at least hundreds of them being reduced to dust. It was as if an explosive had gone off beneath the altar, sending it flying with a loud roar, even accompanied by a sharp shriek. The altar was shot high into the sky.
Guo Shier cursed loudly, “Damn you!” He hated these people who would self-destruct at the slightest provocation. If you can’t win, just run—there’s no need to be so reckless.
Although Guxi Bi had lost some of its tentacles, Guo Shier knew that replenishing a portion of its essence would suffice. But he was extremely annoyed and, ignoring everything else, controlled the altar and charged down roaringly.
Boshi Lod’s self-destruction enraged Guo Shier. Instead of targeting Mizelan, he headed straight for Otz, sending the Moon Blade down like a storm.
Otz didn’t even have time to self-destruct. The Moon Blade descended wildly, instantly chopping him to pieces.
Mizelan was terrified. She knew she was done this time—the opponent was far too strong; she had no chance of defeating them, let alone killing them. Even injuring them would be difficult. She took out another curved sword and prepared to fight to the death. She knew she only had one chance.
Guo Shier waved his hand, and the Moon Blade returned to the altar. He stared at Mizelan and said, “If you don’t want to die, get lost!” Deep down, he actually admired these people—they were truly crazy and fearless in the face of death.
Mizelan was stunned. She couldn’t understand why Guo Shier, who held a decisive advantage, still wanted to spare her. If they hadn’t shown up, Guo Shier and his group would have left soon. Fighting to the death for no apparent reason was something neither Li Ran nor Guo Shier wanted.
Mizelan’s expression wavered for a moment before becoming resolute. She said coldly, “If I can’t kill you… I’ll die!”
Guo Shier suddenly felt powerless. What kind of person was this?
