Chapter 10: Restrictions of the Other World (Part 1)

Yahamei and Wuweike gathered over eighty ninth-level Barbarian Spirit experts. With such strength, they could sweep through the entire Wild Land. Full of confidence, he led his men to encircle Li Ran’s team completely.

As planned, Yahamei led more than thirty men at the front, with another fifty forming a small encirclement. In Yahamei’s view, just nine enemies could be easily wiped out by over thirty ninth-level Barbarian Spirit experts; the fifty others were there merely to prevent them from escaping.

Among those thirty, there were also several experts with exceptional combat skills, so Yahamei was extremely confident. Not a single one of these outsiders would escape.

Li Ran’s expression turned cold. He knew that if they didn’t handle this properly, his team might not survive—there were too many skilled opponents. Fortunately, earlier tests showed that even if attacked by the forces of this world, they could drive them away using the Soul Scriptures. Thus, they could unleash their full strength; otherwise, it would be extremely difficult to fight.

Yahamei was also an old man. There were no young people here. Over the centuries, the experts who entered the Wild Land had gradually accumulated—all of them had lived for very long. Once they entered, they could never return. They aged slowly, yet their strength grew rapidly. The oldest person here was already approaching seven hundred years old.

Yahamei’s emaciated body, covered in wrinkles, and his aged appearance made him seem like he could be blown away by a gust of wind. Yet his strength ranked among the greatest in the entire Wild Land.

There were two other extremely powerful individuals as well—one was Wuweike, and the other was Mizelan, an extremely old woman. This time, they all followed Yahamei and were among those thirty experts.

Li Ran glanced around, dismissed the boundary-breaking ability, and said in a deep voice, “There are over fifty experts a kilometer away, and another group… about thirty people, whose strength seems even greater than those last time. This time, I hope everyone goes all out and kills them mercilessly… Goha, Yaozebongsun, fight freely—even if this world’s forces attack, I have a way to drive them away.”

Everyone agreed, knowing there was no way back. They didn’t understand why the experts of this world were so hostile toward outsiders—it seemed like a fight to the death.

The open sky in all directions poses the greatest test of combat skills. Flying battles have always been the most dangerous, but the professionals in this world of spells each have their own suitable weapon—the flying altar. Previously, they were concerned about the invasive forces of this world, but now that they knew the Soul Scriptures could drive away these forces, their minds became at ease. Fighting with their familiar altars could greatly enhance their strength.

Everyone summoned their own altars. As soon as the altars appeared, they noticed the forces of this world violently invading them, causing everyone’s faces to turn pale. Li Ran shouted, “Don’t worry! Win first, then worry about anything else… Finish it quickly!” He and Qi Wu Zhen faced the greatest pressure because they had the strongest powers, leaving them no time to delay.

Qi Wu Zhen sneered and said, “Leave those fifty outside to me!” She was truly enraged.

Li Ran said, “Okay, go you. I’ll take care of this place!”

Qi Wu Zhen instantly disappeared from her spot and teleported right in front of those fifty people. Before they could scatter, they saw Qi Wu Zhen appear suddenly.

“What a beautiful girl!”

The group of old men and women were stunned. In fact, they didn’t realize that Qi Wu Zhen wasn’t young at all—she was much older than everyone present. She had simply been in a long sleep, unaware of what had happened outside. If not for Guo Shier disturbing her, she would likely still be asleep beneath the magma.

“This girl is mine!”

“She’s mine…”

An old woman screamed, “You bunch of perverts! Kill this girl! At your age, you’re still lustful old men!” Filled with jealousy and murderous intent, the old women wanted Qi Wu Zhen dead.

Qi Wu Zhen, expressionless, said coldly, “A bunch of frogs in a well!” Her voice was icy and tinged with madness. She raised her hands, conjuring countless spells, then snapped, “Fire Sacrifice!” It was her most vicious move. In an instant, countless flames appeared out of nowhere, causing the entire ground to tremble.

Before those people could understand what was happening, they saw the surroundings turn red with flames. Countless flames danced in the air as they desperately tried to block them with their weapons. Some screamed in terror, “What’s going on? Why are there flames everywhere… Ah…”

The flames formed swirling fire dragons that circled wildly around the group. The temperature of these flames was extremely high, and several weaker individuals were instantly reduced to ashes. As the flames surged, the ground also began to shake violently—the magma underground was being driven by the flames and about to erupt.

There were only about fifty of those people. With Qi Wu Zhen’s terrifying attacks, they simply couldn’t resist, nor did they know how to. The attacks were extremely fierce; in their world, no one could dare to play with such power. In less than a second, not a single one of the fifty survived—they were all killed instantly.

While Li Ran had just made contact with Yahemei, the sky was already filled with red light. Guo Shier had seen this scene before and was horrified, realizing it was Qi Wu Zhen’s most terrifying tactic—Fire Sacrifice. That same move had once killed hundreds of thousands of people. Though its power was diminished due to the suppression and attacks from this world’s forces, killing dozens in an instant was still no problem at all.

In the blink of an eye, Qi Wu Zhen had teleported back. She said, “It’s done. None escaped. Aizek, Meili, protect me… Be careful—don’t use your full strength while fighting…” She immediately left with Aizek and Meili. After using Fire Sacrifice, she needed to find a way to expel the external forces invading the altar and could no longer continue fighting.

Li Ran was shocked. He knew Qi Wu Zhen was in trouble and didn’t dare waste even a moment, so he immediately sought a place to recover. He said, “I’ll take half! You guys take the rest!” With that, he charged forward, unleashing his protective barrier and swirling ornaments. With his strength, he could easily handle it.

If not for his caution, Li Ran might have used his ultimate move, Sky Burial, but Qi Wu Zhen’s warning made him cautious. So he chose a different approach—taking on half of the enemies himself while leaving the rest to Guo Shier and the others. He believed those professionals from the ninth-tier altar could easily deal with a dozen or so barbarian experts.

Halechi couldn’t help but exclaim, “Sis Zhen is truly mighty!” With so many of them fighting against just over thirty experts, Sis Zhen had killed over fifty in a single move—these big guys really felt ashamed.

Yahemei’s heart sank. He never expected the opponent to be this powerful. He was well aware of the strength of those over fifty outside—though weaker than them, they were still top-tier experts in this world, yet all of them were killed by a single woman. He didn’t know how she did it, but the result was terrifying.

But at this point, Yahemei couldn’t retreat. He wouldn’t stop until those people were killed. He shouted, “For the Holy Land! Kill them!”

In the blink of an eye, the sky became chaotic. Guo Shier also unleashed his altar, with two sacrificial treasures hanging above it—one was the Soul-Stabilizing Cauldron, and the other was the Umbrella Tower Sacrificial Treasure—while the Moon Blade circled around him. With a loud shout, the Moon Blade encircled three expert Barbarian Spirits; it was time to go all out.

Halechi faced two opponents. Zhen Wuji, Ge Ha, and Yao Zebusong each dealt with four people.

Immediately, a loud roar filled the air as talismanic lights flashed continuously, and the glows from various weapons illuminated the ground. In the blink of an eye, the battle became intensely fierce, with everyone giving their all. Li Ran did not use his ultimate move; with his strength, he could easily handle a dozen or so Level 9 Barbarian Spirit experts. He found a few of them particularly tough, but he focused on the weaker ones first and killed half of them in just a few breaths.

Yahemai had never seen such powerful attacks. Chains formed from strands in the sky, causing him extreme headaches. These strands sometimes turned into chains and sometimes into whips, forcing their group into chaos.

Zhen Wuji and the others each had their own tactics, and dealing with four experts was not a problem. Both sides used their strongest skills in attack and defense, knowing they couldn’t afford to waste time. As soon as contact was made, Zhen Wuji launched his most powerful attack.

Guo Shier used two teleportations in a row to take those three to the periphery.

There were three enemies: two old men and an old woman. Guo Shier didn’t know that the old woman was a super expert—a highly renowned warrior in the Wild Lands, Saint Mother Mizelan. She also appeared aged, having mixed in with the crowd from the start. Unlike Yahemai, she planned to take advantage of the chaos by targeting individuals with the two old men. As soon as Guo Shier’s Moon Blade appeared, she set her sights on him.

So, both sides tacitly stepped away from the battle zone to have more room to maneuver.

Mizelan had a gaunt face; although she had golden hair, it was thin and almost bald. She used her Barbarian Spirit power to the fullest, and the wrinkles on her face gradually disappeared, turning her into a middle-aged woman. She wielded a curved sword—a weapon that was quite unusual among this group, as few seemed to use blade-like weapons.

Guo Shier sat on his altar. After reactivating it, his confidence soared. He had always had a question but never had the chance to ask. This time, he couldn’t hold back and asked, “Why do you want to kill us? I don’t understand… Do we have any grudges?” He found this senseless life-and-death struggle utterly baffling.

Mizelan smiled gently and said, “Little one, it’s not our fault. It’s because you’re outsiders, so you must die!”

Guo Shier said in confusion, “Is it because we’re foreigners? That’s why you want us to die?”
Mizelan nodded. “That’s right. Foreigners who dare enter our sacred land have only death as their fate. Any warrior in the sacred land who encounters you… will fight to the death. So there’s no need for you to ask why—there is no reason.”
Guo Shier said, “That’s a terrible excuse. It’s just bad luck for you that you’ve run into us!”
