Chapter 8: Human-Beast Romance (Part 2)

This guy even looked more ferocious than Ezekiel, thanks to his larger size, while Ezekiel resembled a human more. Of course, when Ezekiel and Mei Li stood together, their combined presence was enough to overwhelm anyone, not to mention several professionals hovering in the distance. If a fight broke out, that guy wouldn’t stand a chance.
“A human? It’s a human…”
Guo Shier was frustrated—what was so strange about it being a human?
On impulse, Yizhero flew in front of Ezekiel and Mei Li and then noticed the person behind Ezekiel. His intuition told him that this person was no less powerful than him, and he immediately felt panicked. Fighting Ezekiel alone didn’t scare him at all; even with Mei Li, he was confident he could escape unharmed. But with those extra people, he wasn’t so sure anymore.
Ezekiel snapped angrily, “Yizhero Asa… Do you want me to eat you? Very good… Stupid fool, I’ll just eat you!” In just a few words, he revealed his true nature as a mutated beast, ready to devour his opponent.
Mei Li also snarled and roared nonstop, “I’ll eat you! I’m going to eat you!” Unfortunately, her four fangs had retracted into her mouth, making her less savage and less intimidating—this was the price of being human. Even so, Halechi couldn’t accept it and kept muttering, “Barbaric woman!”
Ezekiel turned to Li Ran and shouted, “Master, help me!”
Li Ran was stunned—when had he become this guy’s master? But according to Ezekiel’s understanding, anyone who passed on knowledge while alive was a master.
Although Yizhero had never received any teachings, he knew a bit about ancient runes. He was horrified. He understood the term “master”—only someone stronger than Ezekiel could be his master, without a doubt. He immediately thought of escaping.
Ezekiel sneered, “Are you planning to run? Coward, despicable scumbag…”
Guo Shier covered his forehead—this guy even cursed in such a simplistic way, just like how he insulted Mei Li, using only phrases like “stupid woman” without any variation.
Yizhero suddenly realized he was trapped—several professionals had taken positions that made it impossible for him to escape quickly. Ezekiel laughed maniacally and said, “Yizhero, where can you run now? Haha, you’re stupid for bringing death upon yourself, haha…”
Li Ran said, “Let’s retreat! Form a circle!” Everyone immediately stepped back, unleashing their altars at the same time.

In an instant, Li Ran, Qi Wu Zhen, Zhen Wu Ji, Ge Ha, Yao Ze Bu Song, Ha Le Chi, and Guo Shier released seven altars, and a massive soul pressure spread out immediately.
Yi Zhe Luo wasn’t foolish either; at first, he had only been showing off. Unexpecting such a large number of powerful opponents, now trapped, he immediately became furious and was ready to fight to the death. With a wild roar, his body swelled rapidly. Aizek and Meili were no less fierce, their bodies expanding as well. For Aberrant Symbol Beasts, any battle saw their true forms at their strongest.
Rapidly shedding their human forms and returning to their beast forms, all three felt a sense of madness. Aberrant Symbol Beasts were known for their enormous size—15th-level ones could reach up to a kilometer in length, 16th-level ones over 1,500 meters, and some special breeds even up to 2,000 meters. But these three were different. Having taken on human forms, even when returning to their true forms, their lengths were only about 100 meters, though they were far more powerful and ferocious.
It was then that Guo Shier carefully observed Aizek’s true form and couldn’t help but say, “Why is it so small?”
The Abyssal Beast was a mutated Symbol Beast similar to dragons, becoming even more terrifying after mutation. Compared to dragon-type mutated Symbol Beasts, Abyssal Beasts were even more powerful. Their appearance resembled that of a large lizard, with two silver-white spikes on their heads, a short neck, a thick tail over 30 meters long, and rib-like spines on their backs. Normally, Abyssal Beasts couldn’t fly, but after mutation, they gained the ability to fly.
Ha Le Chi muttered, “It’s fucking ugly!”
In Guo Shier’s eyes, the Abyssal Beast wasn’t ugly, especially with the colorful lights shimmering on its body. Aizek emitted a golden glow, while Meili had a faint golden light. Yi Zhe Luo was also an Abyssal Beast, slightly larger—about 200 meters in length—with a faint silver sheen mixed with many golden patterns.
The colors of the spines on their backs were extremely vivid, with rings of colored light emanating from those spines. The threatening roars of the three filled the valley.
Li Ran and the other six scattered in seven directions, each responsible for one area to prevent Yi Zhe Luo from escaping. As for fighting, that was Aizek and Meili’s task—they didn’t need to get involved.
Boom!
It was a direct collision. In just one instant, Yi Zhe Luo was sent flying.
Aizek laughed heartily. But Li Ran shouted, “Ha Le Chi, be careful!”

The direction Ijero threw himself in was exactly the area defended by Halechi. Ijero wasn’t stupid—he knew among the seven, Halechi was the weakest. From the start, he had planned that escaping could only work in that direction, so he first lured his opponent into a direct confrontation, then used the momentum to turn and attack Halechi.

Guo Shier was sympathetic to Halechi. Ever since he insisted on coming down, misfortunes had piled up for him one after another; nothing ever went his way. He was truly cursed. Even when surrounding a Abyssal Beast, they took advantage of his weakness, trying to break through through him.

Halechi was furious. An enraged Eighth-Level Altar professional could unleash terrifying energy. His sacrificial treasure transformed into a brilliant blade of light, slashing wildly. He roared, “Get lost!” It was the full force of his soul, anger bursting from the depths of his heart, condensed into a mad slash.

All his frustration, grievances, and rage were poured into that single strike. Halechi was on the verge of losing his mind. An Eighth-Level Altar professional would be dominant on any continent, but here he was the weakest—worse than Li Ran and Guo Shier, and even an Abyssal Beast half-human and half-beast saw him as easy prey, which drove him to extreme anger.

Ijero instinctively sensed danger, but he still had great confidence in his own strength. He raised his front paws sharply, trying to block the slashing sacrificial treasure. Yet he had no idea how terrifying that strike would be—it contained all of Halechi’s strength, filled with his anger and every emotion.

Boom!

Ahow…

One slash sent Ijero plummeting. It not only blocked his escape route but also knocked him backward. Not to mention escaping, the strike even split his incredibly tough claws, causing him to scream in pain.

Halechi was also forced to retreat repeatedly due to the recoil force.

Aizek was overjoyed, and Meili let out an affectionate roar at Halechi—a roar full of admiration and fondness. Everyone heard it clearly, even though she wasn’t speaking but roaring.

Guo Shier chuckled and said, “I’m really unfair. Why do I laugh when I hear Meili’s roar…”

The handsome old man replied, “Because you’re an asshole too.”

Guo Shier was speechless. This old man rarely praised him and always took the chance to tease him. He said, “I just found it funny and unfair. I didn’t do anything bad. There’s no need to scold me…”

The handsome old man laughed cheerfully, “Hehe, good people don’t laugh.”
Guo Shier said, “You’re still laughing… You bad guy!”
The handsome old man burst into laughter and said, “Kid, I like being a bad guy. You once said… Good people don’t live long, while villains last for ages. Haha.”
Guo Shier muttered, “This heartless old man…” He couldn’t help but laugh too.
Ezek and Meili rushed over, and the three of them engaged in a chaotic fight. Since none of them had effective spell skills or sacred artifacts, they relied solely on their physical strength to fight each other. With their physical capabilities being fairly similar, the fight was intense but not particularly exciting.
Li Ran and the others didn’t underestimate the three of them at all. According to Guo Shier’s estimate, Ezek’s single punch or claw strike could break through one layer of his defense. If attacked continuously, he wasn’t sure he could withstand it. Fighting such humanoid monsters required long-range attacks; close combat would put one at a severe disadvantage.
Boom! Boom!
Yizheruo exchanged two punches, his eyes turning blood-red from anger. He was completely enraged. After all, an Aberrant Talisman Beast wasn’t human. If it were a professional, at this point they would either surrender or flee desperately to save their lives by any means necessary. But once an Aberrant Talisman Beast went berserk, it often lost its sanity and fought frantically.
Ezek was equally mad, though his gaze was slightly different from Yizheruo’s, showing that he still retained a trace of clarity. Meili, on the other hand, was just as insane as Yizheruo. Aberrant Talisman Beasts found it hard to stay calm under stress. Suddenly, Meili let out a howl and tangled herself with Yizheruo.
The two opened their mouths wide and bit at each other, kicking wildly with their claws, while their thick tails swished around, emitting loud whooshing sounds.
As blood splattered and the fight unfolded in an instant, both Yizheruo and Meili were covered in wounds, leaving everyone horrified. Such close-quarters combat was truly deadly.
Guo Shier sighed in admiration, “It really gets one’s blood boiling…”
Meili bit down on Yizheruo’s front limb, her four huge canine teeth sinking deep into it. Yizheruo howled in pain as he wildly struck at Meili’s arched back with his other front paw. Taking advantage of the chaos between Yizheruo and Meili, Ezek leaped onto Yizheruo’s back and smashed his claws against Yizheruo’s head with two loud thuds. The couple, one above and one below, pinned Yizheruo between them and beat him mercilessly.

Izhero bit down desperately on Beautiful’s neck. Ezek grabbed Izhero’s two sharp horns, twisted them with force, and heard a cracking sound as Izhero’s neck was forced to the side. Beautiful suddenly released her mouth from Izhero’s front limbs, let out a roar, stretched her neck out, and bit down on Izhero’s throat.
After delivering a strike, Halechi’s body went weak; fortunately, he managed to knock Izhero away. He gasped for breath, struggling to calm down, before seeing Beautiful bite down on Izhero’s throat. He felt as though his own throat had been bitten, and cold sweat covered his body.
