Chapter 3: The Warehouse (Part 2)
Everyone burst into laughter. Luo Jie said, “Now that we know the location, there’s no need to wait any longer. Let’s go and seize it right away.”
Guo Shier asked, “Should we act together or in groups?”
Luo Jie thought for a moment before saying, “Let’s act together. We’ll eliminate them one by one. Try not to get exposed. If we’re discovered, then we’ll start wiping out all the professionals here!” His eyes gleamed with ferocity.
Guo Shier nodded. “Okay. If we stay together, we’re almost invincible. Unless the enemy sends a master from the eighth-tier altar, I don’t think that’s possible… By the way, we need to take Xiao Hong and Xiao Jie with us. It’s too dangerous for them to stay behind.”
Luo Jie nodded. “Good. Let’s teleport back. It’s not far from the courtyard where we live.”
Precise teleportation wasn’t easy, but everyone present could do it. Without further delay, they teleported back to the courtyard they had rented before.
Chen Hong and Luo Wei Jie hadn’t slept. Worried and anxious, they sat silently in the courtyard waiting. Suddenly, figures appeared one after another, scaring them into jumping up. Only then did they realize it was Guo Shier and the others who had returned. Chen Hong stepped forward and asked, “Shier, how did it go?”
Guo Shier smiled. “It went smoothly. But… we’re about to start fighting. You should come with us.”
Chen Hong hesitated. Luo Wei Jie quickly said, “Sure! Sure… I want to go!”
Guo Shier said, “Xiao Hong, follow me. Xiao Jie, follow your master.”
Luo Wei Jie widened her eyes and asked, “Shier! What did you call me?”
Guo Shier ignored her, knowing she liked to talk nonsense to him. Chen Hong said, “Should I go… Will it hinder your plans? My strength isn’t enough…” She was only at the level of a high-tiermad mage -> mad mage or frenzied mage, just one step short of becoming aSaint. Her strength was indeed far too weak.
Luo Jie called out, “Xiao Jie, come here!”
Luo Wei Jie walked over angrily, muttering, “I’m so pissed! That brat has grown up… daring to take advantage of me…”
Guo Shier activated his altar. With a swirl of a virtual talisman, he dragged Chen Hong to the top of the altar. He sat cross-legged and said, “Xiao Hong, sit behind me. Don’t move around. I’ve secured you with a virtual talisman. As long as the altar remains, you’ll be safe.”
Chen Hong was completely stunned. She was no longer a naive girl who knew nothing; of course, she understood what an altar was. Stammering, she said, “Ten… twelve. This… this is an altar. You… you’re an altar-level professional. How is that possible?”
Luo Jie also activated his own altar and pulled Luo Wei Jie onto its top. Luo Wei Jie was also shocked. Then, both she and Chen Hong realized in horror that everyone present was an altar-level expert. Luo Jie said, “Let’s go!” In an instant, they teleported high into the sky.
Chen Hong was terrified. She had never seen such a terrifying scene before. Everything seemed to blur before her eyes, and the landscape changed completely. She covered her mouth and stared blankly at Guo Shier. Suddenly, he seemed strange to her—he was no longer the clever boy she had known since childhood. A sense of emptiness filled her heart, and tears streamed down uncontrollably.
Guo Shier was unaware of Chen Hong’s sorrow. He pointed downward and said, “It should be here.”
Below was pitch black, in stark contrast to the brightly lit surroundings. The altars of everyone hovered in the air. Luo Jie said indifferently, “This is a storage area, as well as a trap. Heh, their defense method is stupid. Do they really think a magic array can stop us?”
Guo Shier laughed and said, “It’s not to stop us, but to send an alarm. Once someone breaks in, hehe, a large group of professionals will rush over. Even though there’s not a single person down there.”
Nan You asked, “Is there a way to break through?”
Luo Jie replied, “It’s easy, but breaking through without alerting anyone… that’s hard! At least I can’t do it.”
Guo Shier’s soul fluctuated slightly and asked, “Elder Shuai, do you have a way?”
Elder Shuai said, “Wait a moment…” He quietly poked his head out.
Unluckily, the spot where Elder Shuai appeared was right next to Chen Hong. Chen Hong had gradually calmed down and was looking around when she suddenly saw a head slowly emerging beside her. She was so scared that she opened her mouth to scream. Guo Shier turned around, saw this, and quickly covered her mouth with his hand, whispering, “Shh! That’s my altar spirit. Don’t scream!”
Chen Hong nodded frantically, and only then did Guo Shier gently release his hand. She felt her face burning red.
Elder Shuai’s head circled around the altar and he said, “I’ll give it a try first. If it doesn’t work, you can attack forcefully.” Out of caution toward Luo Jie, he still communicated with Guo Shier through soul fluctuations. He cast spells one after another, sending virtual talismans floating out, descending slowly like sparse snowflakes.
After a moment, the handsome old man said, “I’m very familiar with this restriction. It’s poorly crafted. Hehe, I almost didn’t recognize it. Wait a moment; I’ll craft a few jade talismans for entering and leaving.” Luo Jie didn’t know the old man already had a solution, so he said, “Is there really no way? Then fine, let’s just attack directly!” Guo Shier quickly said, “Master, wait! I have an idea.” Luo Jie was surprised, “Can you recognize this talisman array?” Guo Shier replied, “My spirit sacrifice is crafting jade talismans for entering and leaving. Hehe, we can slip in.” Qi Nanshan smiled and said, “Your spirit sacrifice… Sigh, I should get one too in the future.” The old man, who was still crafting the jade talismans, shuddered at these words. Soon, Guo Shier had six jade talismans, one for each person. He said, “Just stick the talismans on the altar, and we can descend directly. With the talismans, the array won’t block us.” Saying this, he placed the talismans on the altar and immediately guided it to fly downward. Silently, the altar descended to less than ten meters above the ground. It was a large manor-like courtyard with a three-story building in the center. Guo Shier already had the memory image and knew this building was the largest storage facility for professionals in Midtown. A row of two-story buildings in front served as the trading center, which was empty at the moment. Luo Jie and the others followed down. Guo Shier smiled and said, “This talisman array is actually quite good. It can conceal all sounds and movements. Even if there are guards in the storage, hehe, no matter how loud the noise, it won’t be visible from outside. They won’t expect us to be able to enter silently.” Reaching out, a giant hand formed from a virtual talisman suddenly descended and grabbed the building. Guo Shier chuckled lightly, “Open!” The fake hand clenched tightly, and with a loud crash, the building was crushed, revealing a small hole. A figure suddenly flew out of the hole, standing on a two-story altar. Eagle Demon laughed, “There’s still someone guarding it. That great sage has no idea; he thinks no one is here after dark… Hehe.” The expert on the altar had just flown into the air when Qi Nanshan slapped him back to the ground, shouting, “Don’t run around!” The man crashed to the ground and looked around in panic. With just one glance, he was nearly overwhelmed—seven-story, six-story, three-story altars, and the rest were single-story solid altars. Where could there be so many terrifying experts?
The crowd surrounded the man, staring at him with smiling faces until his hair stood on end and he couldn’t help trembling. Only then did someone ask, “Is there anyone else down there?”
Luo Jie and Qi Nanshan’s soul pressures crushed the man, causing his altar to retract into his body. Under such pressure, he couldn’t exert any of his abilities.
“I have two senior brothers, one uncle, and one disciple… all down there! Let me go!”
Guo Shier laughed and said, “Two senior brothers and an uncle? Didn’t expect to run into a guy who bluffs so much. Hehe, there’s no one down there, right?” With a loud shout, he ordered, “Seal him!” Countless virtual talismans descended. Luo Jie and Qi Nanshan also joined in, dropping numerous talismans. The man was tragically deprived of all his abilities.
A professional with a two-tier altar should have some ability to fight back despite facing so many experts, but he was intimidated right from the start and couldn’t move at all, looking at them in despair.
Luo Jie asked, “What’s your name?”
Hatingly, the man replied, “I’m an elder of the Gu Mi family—Mi Yuanheng!” He knew well that these people were after the warehouse. Secretly sneering, he thought that his most precious items were in his altar. Although the warehouse contained many good things, they paled in comparison to the best materials.
Guo Shier and the others understood that if it were an altar-level expert, the storage space for valuable items would be much larger.
Originally, Guo Shier had no good way to deal with professionals who hid their items in altars. If such an expert was determined to die, they could destroy their altar, shattering the entire storage space and leaving nothing behind unless they chose to hand over their items. But now, he had a solution.
It relied on Gu Xi Bi. The handsome old man had recently refined Gu Xi Bi once, imbuing it with a special talisman. Using Gu Xi Bi’s tentacles, it could force its way into the opponent’s altar and retrieve items from their storage space. Of course, the target had to be a professional completely trapped, unable to use their soul power.
Looking at Mi Yuanheng, who was curled up in fear, Guo Shier said with a smile, “Master, go search the warehouse. I’ll take care of this guy. Hehe, I know how to deal with him.”
Mi Yuanheng suddenly felt a chill. He asked, “What do you want to do?”
Luo Jie waved his hand, and several people rushed into the underground entrance of the warehouse. Chen Hong and Luo Weijie stayed outside, unsure if there were any ambushes or traps inside. With their weaker abilities, they would only distract others, so they waited outside.
Mi Yuanheng struggled desperately, but he was restrained by several top experts together—how could he possibly break free? Guo Shier laughed, “Don’t think just because you hid the materials in the altar that I can’t do anything about it. Hehe, you’re unlucky—I happen to have a way to get them. Just endure it.”
Guo Shier leaped down from the altar and landed with Chen Hong on the ground. He pointed at the altar, which spun rapidly several times before shrinking gradually. When it was about one meter in size, it floated about two meters above Mi Yuanheng. Then he said, “Enjoy it!”
In an instant, countless tentacles descended from beneath the altar, twisting and extending as they quickly wrapped around Mi Yuanheng.
Chen Hong felt disgusted and asked in confusion, “Shier, what are they doing?”
Guo Shier chuckled, “He’s going to be very… itchy…”
Haha! Hahaha! Hahahahaha! Ugh… Haha!
Chen Hong and Luo Weijie were stunned.
