Chapter 008: Flame Dragon Slaying Strike (Part 2)

“How is this possible!” Blood slowly flowed from Leopold’s seven orifices. Clutching his eyes, he bent over in pain. “How is this possible? How could you block that move?”
Even Leopold’s followers on the ground were utterly devastated. Having been by his side for years, they knew full well the power of the Flame Dragon Slaying Strike. But now…
Du Fan sighed lightly and said, “You were already at your limit. Add to that your move—right, it’s called the Flame Dragon Slaying Strike, isn’t it? I don’t know why you have such a move, but you’re also a practitioner of Light Combat Energy. Can’t you see that it’s already being suppressed by it? Before the God of Light, nothing is impossible!”
Leopold’s expression changed repeatedly before he finally couldn’t hold back. With a “wah,” he spat out a mouthful of blood and then plummeted from midair, crashing heavily to the ground.
His followers’ faces turned pale as they rushed over quickly, while the others were speechless!
Was that battle truly just a single fight?
Looking at Du Fan still in midair, everyone felt as if they’d been through a nightmare!
When absolute power prevails, even admiration turns into fear.
Du Fan smiled bitterly in midair, shook his head slightly, and quickly landed on the terrace of the Elven Residence. His vision swam, and he nearly fainted. He knew well that his move had used up all the Combat Energy he had accumulated over days, along with a great deal of mental strength. If that move hadn’t just managed to block Leopold’s ultimate technique, he might now be in pieces.
Moreover, Leopold had still managed to unleash such strength under those circumstances. So, though he had lost, in a sense, Du Fan was definitely no match for him!
If he hadn’t stored enough Combat Energy in the Rainbow Stone earlier, perhaps…
Thinking of this, Du Fan couldn’t help but feel terrified.

The scene was utterly silent, everyone filled with fear. At the place where Leopold had fallen, it took a while before a few figures appeared. Leopold, covered in blood, was helped out by several guards. The arrogance from earlier had vanished from his face; he merely stared coldly at Du Fan and said, word by word, with hatred: “Very good! This is the first time in my life as Leopold that I’ve been defeated! Boy! What’s your name? With such skills, you surely aren’t an unknown!”
Du Fan stood on the terrace, casually stuffing the Sacred Radiance Staff into his storage ring. After a moment, he took a breath, suppressing the irritation in his chest, and said, “My name is Du Fan! Du Fan of the Green Family!”
A look of surprise appeared on Leopold’s face. He shook off those helping him and said through gritted teeth, “Good! So you’re from the Green Family! Truly as famous as rumored! I’ll remember this!”
With that, Leopold turned around, waved his hand sharply, and said, “Let’s go!”
The guards immediately helped Leopold walk away from the crowd, with several others following behind, carrying the severely injured Marcus.
Prince Fischer watched their retreating figures and sighed suddenly, saying, “Ignore them. Let them go…”
After thinking for a moment, Prince Fischer took out a badge and handed it to Alex, saying calmly, “With such a big uproar, the entire capital must be alarmed. Use my name to calm everyone down. As for what to say, I don’t need to teach you, right?”
Alex quickly responded, took the badge, and left promptly.
Prince Fischer glanced at Du Fan again and said, “Du Fan, don’t worry. Today, you made Leopold lose face so badly that even if our father is angry on the surface, he’ll be pleased inwardly… After all, Leopold has been too arrogant in the capital these days!”
Du Fan took a deep breath, finally calming down. He looked at Prince Fischer and said, “Who exactly is this Leopold…”
Prince Fischer glanced around and saw that the crowd below was still restless. He quickly made a gesture and said, “Let’s go inside and talk.”
With that, Prince Fischer led the way back into the pavilion, followed by Jerome.
Du Fan shook his head, about to follow in, but Eileen, who had been standing aside, suddenly came over. She gave Du Fan a strange look, bowed slightly, and said, “Lord Du Fan… Thank you today. If not for you… I…”

Du Fan glanced at her but said nothing, merely shook his head before slowly walking into the pavilion. Behind Du Fan, Eileen’s expression grew increasingly strange; she seemed to sigh softly before quickly following him in. Inside the pavilion, everything had already been destroyed—there were over a dozen people lying on the ground, and the area was full of pits and uneven surfaces, a sight too gruesome to bear. Prince Fischer took a look and couldn’t help but frown. Jerome, on the other hand, walked over to the unconscious Shaline, kicked her a few times, and said indifferently, “Let’s find another place.” After those kicks, Ms. Shaline stood up with an awkward smile. She had indeed pretended to be unconscious, but she hadn’t expected these villains to discover it so quickly. At the same time, she inwardly groaned in distress—she knew she was in big trouble this time. No matter how powerful her background was, she was at a loss in such a situation! That Leoport had revealed himself to be a prince of the Lani Empire, likely an envoy sent for peace talks—someone she definitely couldn’t offend. As for the others, they were either royalty or members of powerful families in the capital; especially Prince Fischer, who was a prince himself, and the other three also held high status. With these two groups causing such a huge mess in her place, it was likely she who would suffer in the end! The only solution now was to take good care of Prince Fischer and keep him happy—maybe that way she could find a way to save herself. With that in mind, Ms. Shaline hurriedly bowed and said, “Your Highness Fischer, my lords, this is already the best pavilion we have. But if you don’t mind… please come this way!” Without even glancing at the groaning thugs on the ground, she quickly opened the side door of the pavilion and led Prince Fischer and his group inside. Exiting through the side door and turning down the corridor, they soon arrived in a rather elegant small hall. Naturally, it wasn’t as luxurious as the pavilion, but it was still quite nice. Prince Fischer glanced around but didn’t show any disapproval; he simply nodded slightly and said, “Then let’s use this place.” Immediately, Ms. Shaline had four seats prepared, brought in fresh food and drinks, and then exchanged a few glances with the women accompanying them before bowing and retreating. After Ms. Shaline left, the atmosphere became somewhat awkward, and the carefree mood from before was gone.

None of those present were ordinary people, so they naturally understood that since the prince of the Lanney Empire had come to the capital, it was most likely related to political deals between nations. Judging from his attitude, he probably had quite strong bargaining chips. Yet for them to engage in a fight with his envoy in such a social setting would not only be embarrassing but also have significant political consequences!

Although Prince Fischer held the status of a prince, he was currently at a critical moment in the struggle for the throne. If this matter became public, it would definitely not benefit him. As for Du Fan and Jerome, though they were members of noble families, he was after all a prince of a kingdom…

Especially when Du Fan thought of Leoport’s last gaze, he couldn’t help but sigh… There was definitely trouble ahead if things didn’t go smoothly…

After a brief silence and a few drinks, Prince Fischer seemed to remember something. He glanced at Jerome and said, “Jerome, why don’t you take the ladies with you and have some fun… Duke Du Fan and I need to talk.”

A strange look flashed in Jerome’s eyes, but he still nodded and said, “I understand… But what about the others…?” He glanced at the women.

Prince Fischer laughed and said, “Let Lady Shalin take care of them. Especially Miss Eileen—make sure she’s properly attended to! This is a rare opportunity for her to receive guests after all these years!”

Jerome grunted in response, said nothing more, and quickly left.

Those women, having seen much, naturally understood that what Prince Fischer and Du Fan wanted to discuss was something they absolutely couldn’t overhear. They obediently left, but Eileen gave Du Fan a deep look before departing. Still, he stepped back as well.

Only after they left did Du Fan gaze deeply at Prince Fischer. With a half-smile on his face, Prince Fischer looked at Du Fan, sighed suddenly, and said, “Duke Du Fan, I know you must have many questions in mind right now… But that’s okay… Because I think it’s time for us to have a proper conversation!”
