Chapter 006: Outbreak
But Leoport pressed hard, refusing to give Du Fan any chance to rest. His long sword slashed up and down, closely following Du Fan’s movements. Fortunately, although Du Fan was knocked back, he could still manage to block a few attacks with his sword. Even when he couldn’t block them, his combat energy protected him from serious injury.
Finally, with a loud “boom,” Du Fan crashed to the ground, feeling a sharp pain spread throughout his body. Looking up, he saw Leoport’s cold gaze, and anger flared within him!
Clearly, Leoport had used some strange secret technique to suddenly boost his strength, which explained his sudden aggression. Being defeated so publicly was truly humiliating!
With this in mind, Du Fan gave it his all. He activated his combat energy, and soon a pale green wind-type energy merged with the light-type energy, flashing continuously.
With a grunt, Du Fan leaped up and rushed at Leoport in mid-air.
Leoport, obviously waiting for Du Fan, thrust his sword as soon as he saw him coming. But Du Fan no longer held back either. His sword moved swiftly in all directions, striking Leoport from impossible angles.
The two figures clashed repeatedly in mid-air, accompanied by the sounds of combat energy and breaking swords. Their swords were originally ordinary, and under the power of their combat energies, they couldn’t last long.
Eventually, both swords shattered into pieces. But even fighting with their bare hands, neither of them showed any sign of stopping!
After a while, a strange look flashed in Leoport’s eyes. He pulled out his left hand and pointed it at Du Fan’s chest. Du Fan lacked combat experience, especially in close-quarters battles, so he failed to react in time. It wasn’t until Leoport’s hand touched his chest that his expression changed.
But Leoport already sneered, and his hand flashed with light!
Du Fan felt a chill sweep through his body, as if his chest had been struck by a heavy hammer. He couldn’t help but step back, spitting out a mouthful of blood. His face turned as pale as paper.
Leopold laughed heartily but didn’t approach. He pointed at Du Fan and said coldly, “Little brat! Did you see that? In the end, it’s still you who will die!”
Below, Leopold’s followers began to cheer, “Long live Prince Leopold! Long live the Lanny Empire!”
They had also witnessed the fight between Leopold and Du Fan earlier; it had been extremely dangerous. Yet at this final moment, Prince Leopold managed to win—how could they not cheer?
Prince Fischer and the others, on the other hand, looked visibly displeased. The stunning Miss Eileen stepped forward as well and couldn’t help but ask, “Is he… okay?”
Prince Fischer glanced at Eileen briefly, then at Du Fan floating in the air. After a moment, he sighed and said, “He should be fine.”
Eileen shook her head, staring at Du Fan in the air, her expression growing increasingly strange.
In the sky, though Leopold appeared arrogant, he wasn’t feeling much better himself. He had used a secret technique to boost his strength and suppress Du Fan, but using that technique came at a high cost. Now his whole body ached, his face was pale, and cold sweat kept pouring from his forehead.
But since he was in mid-air, no one could see his condition.
Finally, Leopold snorted. Staring at Du Fan across from him, he said coldly, “Let’s continue!”
Du Fan was also somewhat weak now. He had fought against legends like Ordas and Ampere without being hurt, yet here he was, injured at the hands of a foreign prince. He felt both amused and frustrated.
But Du Fan knew this was his true strength. In previous fights, he had relied on external aids to win, but this time, under everyone’s watchful eyes, he couldn’t do that. The only thing he could count on was his fighting spirit!
And the fact that he knew magic—better not reveal it unless absolutely necessary… So in front of so many people, his magic seemed useless. Besides, Leopold likely wouldn’t give him a chance to use magic anyway.
Over there, Leopold gave a light slap on his hand, and a dark green long spear appeared in it. Holding the spear in one hand, he said indifferently, “If you admit defeat now, you still have a chance!”
Du Fan snorted and glanced at LeoLeoLeo Potter -> Leo Potter. With a casual flick of his hand, he could draw out a long spear—presumably he also had a storage ring. Judging from its extraordinary quality, this spear was certainly no ordinary item; it was likely some kind of magical weapon. It would be rather ridiculous if a prince of a kingdom wielded a weapon without such significance.
Thinking this, Du Fan rummaged in his storage ring for a moment before frowning slightly. He hadn’t anticipated this situation and hadn’t prepared any weapons…
With a soft sigh, Du Fan flipped his hand, and the Sacred Radiance Staff appeared in it. However, he held it upside down, making it look less like a wand and more like a small dagger.
Seeing him draw out the Sacred Radiance Staff, LeoLeoLeo Potter -> Leo Potter snorted and said, “Are you ready? Then let’s continue!”
With that, LeoLeoLeo Potter -> Leo Potter dashed forward in an instant, arriving right in front of Du Fan. The long spear in his hand emitted a strange glow as it was thrust toward Du Fan’s heart—aimed at defeating him in one strike!
Du Fan snorted again, flashed sideways, and stepped back just in time to avoid LeoLeoLeo Potter -> Leo Potter’s attack. Then, he sent a trace of his mental energy toward the multicolored stone on the Sacred Radiance Staff, while simultaneously rotating the staff…
Suddenly, ripples spread out from where he stood, as if on water’s surface, and he vanished from that spot in an instant!
LeoLeoLeo Potter -> Leo Potter’s expression changed. He instinctively sensed danger. He spun around quickly, throwing his long spear backward. Sure enough, he saw Du Fan standing right behind him. With a wave of the Sacred Radiance Staff, a blade of sword energy rushed toward LeoLeoLeo Potter -> Leo Potter.
Startled, LeoLeoLeo Potter -> Leo Potter stepped back abruptly, but Du Fan followed closely, the combat energy on the Sacred Radiance Staff burning brightly as it surged straight at him.
Realizing there was no way to retreat, LeoLeoLeo Potter -> Leo Potter gritted his teeth. His long spear once again emitted that strange combat energy and charged at Du Fan. But Du Fan didn’t back down. With a gentle wave of his Sacred Radiance Staff, its power was several times greater than before. LeoLeoLeo Potter -> Leo Potter barely managed to block the sword energy with all his strength, then immediately swung his spear back at Du Fan.
The sound of exploding combat energy and the clash of metal filled the air, creating continuous roars!
The two figures in mid-air were locked in fierce combat, their blazing combat auras shining like two intense suns. Both had pushed their martial skills to the limit! Du Fan now wielded the Holy Radiance Staff, and the combat energy he had accumulated over days allowed him to use it with ease. Many techniques he usually couldn’t employ flowed smoothly now, while Leopold’s martial skills were already extremely high. With the secret arts that allowed him to boost his strength, he managed to remain undefeated against Du Fan!
It should be noted that Du Fan now held the Holy Radiance Staff. Though his accumulated energy wasn’t vast, it was equivalent to that of over a dozen Du Fans fighting together. Even the weakest would become strong under such conditions, not to mention his ability to use higher-level martial techniques! This was practically the power of a seventh or eighth-level warrior going all out. Add to that Du Fan’s ruthless and cunning sword techniques, and it was clear he wasn’t easy to deal with.
Yet Leopold still managed to stay undefeated, which proved he was an unparalleled warrior.
On the ground, whether they were people from the imperial capital or Leopold’s attendants, everyone was stunned. Even the imperial defense forces who rushed over upon hearing the news were shocked!
It seemed as if tiny particles were falling from the sky. One drop landed on Prince Fischer’s back of his hand. He glanced at it but didn’t wipe away the blood. Instead, he stared upward and sighed deeply, saying, “Alex, can you tell whose blood this is?”
Alex frowned as he looked, his face growing paler. Hearing Prince Fischer’s question, he instinctively shook his head and said, “Your servant… doesn’t know. Their movements are too fast… Your servant can’t see clearly! So…”
Prince Fischer already knew about Du Fan’s skills. He simply nodded instinctively, growing even more impressed by this white-robed priest.
Jerome, who was standing nearby, had a strange expression. He stared at Du Fan in the sky, his eyes tinged with envy…
This noble from the Lionheart Family murmured to himself: Weren’t he just a worthless person half a year ago? Why is he like this now? Could it be that he had hidden his true strength all along?
