Chapter 660: The Fall of the Pearl?

Pearl finally completed the seal gesture in her hands. Ye Feng and the others saw a crack appear in the void. Soon after, a strange sound came from it.
All the onlookers, including Ye Feng, stared into the void and saw a swarm of white butterflies emerging from the crack. In the blink of an eye, their numbers must have reached tens of thousands.
Those white butterflies instantly enveloped Xiao Ran, who was still dizzy, leaving the onlookers in astonishment.
“Coil Seal!” Pearl softly uttered those two words, which reached everyone’s ears clearly.
Xiao Ran, wrapped in the butterflies, struggled desperately but failed to break free. His struggles grew weaker and slower.
Those with sharp eyes finally understood what was happening.
The white butterflies surrounding Xiao Ran kept spewing white threads, quickly wrapping him up. In just half a cup of tea time, Xiao Ran was transformed into a white mummy. Each thread was as thin as a hair, but there were countless of them, layered upon layer.
After completing the wrapping, the white butterflies disappeared one by one, as if they had never existed.
Pearl walked around Xiao Ran, now a mummy, to check her work. Finding nothing amiss, she turned to Ye Feng, shrugged, indicating that this match was effortless for her.
Yet Ye Feng felt things weren’t that simple. Though he didn’t know exactly what Pearl’s move was, he thought if it were him inside that coil, he would have countless ways to break free. Even when Pearl signaled to him, he remained frowning, forcing a smile before nodding at her.
Then, Pearl stepped to the edge of the arena and said to the referee, “The match should be over. I won.”
The referee also frowned. In such a situation, it was hard for him to make a decision. On one hand, Xiao Ran hadn’t admitted defeat; on the other, he wasn’t dead and was still on the arena. He couldn’t simply declare Pearl the winner under such sealing conditions, so he turned to the chief referee for guidance.
As the referee sought advice from the chief referee, Ye Feng frowned further, sensing a powerful energy rapidly gathering inside that white coil.

Pearl was the closest, and she quickly sensed something unusual. Her relaxed expression turned serious in an instant. She also swiftly retreated to the edge of the arena, forming another hand seal. Ye Feng noticed that the seal Pearl formed this time was different from the previous ones.
The seal Pearl formed this time ended quickly, and everyone saw some specks of light rapidly emanating from her body, quickly filling the entire arena.
The entire arena seemed to be covered by a layer of mist, though it wasn’t real mist—it was rather specks resembling fireflies floating in the air.
Although it looked beautiful, everyone knew that beneath this beauty lay deadly danger.
Ye Feng had no idea where Pearl had learned these techniques, nor had he ever seen her use them before. But he vaguely guessed that they must be related to the Hellish Dark Butterfly.
After the mist-like light spots appeared, Pearl’s hand seal paused briefly before she formed another one.
Before long, the white cocoon finally cracked, and Xiao Ran’s hands emerged from the fissure. A bright white light shone from his hands as he forcefully tore open the crack and stepped out.
Xiao Ran glared viciously at Pearl. Seeing her still forming seals, he rushed toward her with all his strength, but his speed slowed after a few steps. Only then did he notice the surroundings of the arena. Pointing at Pearl, he said, “You… you used poison again… Despicable…”
After a while, his body froze completely, standing motionless in place, his pupils dilated, like a zombie with no movement at all.
The spectators below watched in shock.
“What exactly happened?”
Just as everyone was confused, Pearl spoke up, “Surrender!”
Xiao Ran opened his mouth, his expression contorting in struggle. He opened his mouth several times, but the sounds were forced back in, as if he was fighting against some invisible force.
Only then did everyone realize what was going on—Pearl’s technique could hypnotize her opponent and control their actions. But Xiao Ran seemed to be someone with a strong will, resisting such commands fiercely.

At this moment, the seal in Pearl’s hands finally took shape, and another crack like a tooth gap appeared in space. That crack quickly expanded, and nearly a hundred black butterflies emerged from it. Unlike before, these butterflies were not only of a different color but also much larger in size.
“Could butterflies of different colors have different functions?” Ye Feng thought to himself.
Pearl stepped closer to Xiao Ran, her voice urging him to surrender growing fainter yet clearer. When she stood in front of him and made eye contact, her voice echoed again, “Look into my eyes and tell me—you surrender!”
Xiao Ran’s mouth opened and closed several times, emitting fragmented single syllables: “I… I… su… ren…”
The word “surrender” was only half pronounced; the original “shu” became just the syllable “sh.” Just as everyone was waiting to see the outcome, Xiao Ran suddenly attacked, thrusting his right arm into Pearl’s body, less than thirty centimeters away from him, with his palm emerging from the back of her.
The crowd below was instantly in uproar.
“Hmph, I was already on guard after the first poisoning. Do you really think using the same trick a second time will work on me?” Xiao Ran sneered. “Worthless woman, die!”
As he spoke, he inserted his other hand into Pearl’s chest.
Ye Feng tried to act, but the chief referee held him back again.
“Surrender!” Unable to break free from the referee’s grip, Ye Feng shouted at Pearl in desperation.
Pearl’s long hair covered her face, and she no longer moved at all. A sound of something being crushed could be heard, followed by her head dropping completely as her life force faded away.
“Sister Pearl!!!” Ye Feng knew exactly what had happened—that guy named Xiao Ran had crushed Pearl’s heart…
Just as Xiao Ran thought he had won, the black butterflies went berserk, instantly surrounding him. Soon, the crowd heard his agonized screams. In just a few breaths, all that was left of Xiao Ran was a pile of bones, his soul utterly destroyed. The black butterflies revealed their true form—their huge black mouths filled with countless sharp teeth, blood dripping from between them. Xiao Ran had been devoured by those black butterflies.
Silence descended over the arena…
