Chapter 571: The Seven Sacred Lands
Although Sherlock made the call, the only definite response came from Ulbeca of the Seventh Sacred Land. This was actually within Sherlock’s expectations, though the result still disappointed him somewhat. The rulers of the seven sacred lands did not get along well with each other. Only Ulbeca, as the only woman, maintained relatively harmonious relations with the others.
Of course, the other sacred lands didn’t outright refuse to help, but their leaders didn’t show up themselves; instead, they sent two or three controllers as a token gesture.
A few days later, representatives from all seven sacred lands finally gathered. Excluding Ye Feng and the others, the Seventh Sacred Land had the largest delegation. Including its ruler Ulbeca, she brought five additional controllers with her, leaving just one controller behind to guard the land—showing complete commitment.
When Ulbeca and the controllers from the other sacred lands saw Ye Feng and the seven others, they were filled with confusion. They had no idea who these eight people suddenly appearing were. They could clearly sense that their cultivation levels far exceeded that of the Sacred Realm.
To Ulbeca’s surprise, two of them were even beyond her ability to perceive. One of them was Ye Feng, and the other was Long Tian. She couldn’t see through Long Tian because he was also a star-level powerhouse whose cultivation had reached the peak of the Formation stage, ready to break through at any moment. As for Ye Feng, since that strange man named “Existence” had interfered with him in that non-existent place, few could now perceive his cultivation level.
“Sherlock, who are these people…” As the ruler, Ulbeca naturally held the same status as Sherlock. Although the others wanted to ask, they didn’t dare speak up directly.
“Let them go to hell. They’re eight powerhouses who’ve surpassed the Sacred Realm!” The warriors from the other sacred lands couldn’t help but marvel inwardly. The Fifth Sacred Land had managed to find eight such powerful individuals in just one night.
The three controllers from the First Sacred Land immediately looked grim. Given the current situation, they might have to relinquish their first-place position in the upcoming ranking battle.
Although he knew others still had many questions, Sherlock didn’t intend to answer them. He waved his hand and said, “I called everyone here because of the deaths of my three brothers. I briefly explained this matter through the communicator, but some details might not be clear enough, so I’ll repeat it here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask…”
It took half a cup of tea’s time before Sherlock finally explained everything clearly. After hearing this, everyone’s expressions turned serious.
However, Ye Feng guessed that the reason for their serious expressions wasn’t Sherlock’s story itself, but rather the sheer strength of the murderer as reflected in it. Someone who could instantly kill the three Berents was likely strong enough to kill most of those present as well. During the Holy Land rankings battles, Berent’s strength was evident to many here. Most of these rulers were roughly on par with Berent in strength—either similarly strong or only slightly weaker. If they really encountered that murderer, even working in groups of three, their chances of survival would be slim.
“Based on what you’ve said, Sherlock, if the murderer is just one person, then his strength must be at the mid-stage of the Star level, and he’s very skilled at ambushes,” Ulbeca said, sharing her analysis. “Such an opponent is truly tricky.”
“The main problem now is that we have no idea where to start,” Sherlock said. He wasn’t afraid of the opponent’s strength, after all, they had so many people on their side. “Although the incident happened north of Madel City, none of us know where the murderer has fled to. With Star-level cultivation, it’s even possible to teleport directly from one Holy Land to another with some effort.”
Sherlock’s words made the rulers of the other Holy Lands uneasy. They naturally knew he was telling the truth. Of course, there was also a hint of intimidation in his words—he didn’t want them to just stand by and do nothing.
“That’s possible,” Ulbeca nodded gravely. Clearly, she was worried that with only one person left guarding her Seventh Holy Land, trouble might arise.
“You should all warn the strong ones in your Holy Lands. If you notice any children missing or people killed with their heads cut off, inform us immediately,” Sherlock said to the strong ones from the other six Holy Lands. “Once you spot the murderer, don’t underestimate him—go all out to kill him.”
After sending the message back, Urbeka looked up at Sherlock. “What should we do now?”
“One word: wait!” This time, it was Long Tian who spoke.
“Then until when?” Another controller, annoyed by Long Tian’s sudden interruption, voiced his dissatisfaction.
“Based on our investigations in Madel City, this alien feeds every night, killing the parents of children and taking the children away,” Long Tian said calmly. “So, by tomorrow, we’ll get some information and know exactly where that guy is. Of course, if he’s no longer in the Fifth Holy Land, we won’t get any news by tomorrow.”
“I’ve already informed the city lords of all cities to notify me immediately if any children disappear or if anyone has their head cut off. If such things happen anywhere tonight, I’ll hear about it by tomorrow at the latest,” Sherlock nodded.
As they waited anxiously, the sky gradually darkened, and the entire Fifth Holy City was covered in a faint purple hue. Above the Fifth Holy Land, there were two purple moons—one in a crescent shape and the other almost round, missing only a crescent edge. It was said that at midnight every day, the two moons would intersect, forming a complete circle. This strange sight was also something Ye Feng and the others had seen for the first time.
It was unclear how much time passed, but when the two moons were about to touch, Sherlock’s communicator finally rang…
