Chapter 308: The Arrogant Giant Python

Ye Feng looked helplessly at Xue Sha and Tie Niu, who were collapsed in a huge palm-printed pit. Though they were unwilling, they couldn’t move at all.
Ye Feng was also shocked by what had just happened. Wu Ze had dealt with Xue Sha and Tie Niu in just one move—slamming his palm on the ground, causing storms and thunderstorms in the sky, as a gigantic transparent palm descended. Neither of them had time to dodge before being crushed into the ground.
“This is the power displayed by a semi-god-level being…” Ye Feng frowned deeply. He knew that such a foe was far more troublesome than he had imagined. He never expected that a semi-god would be so much stronger than Xue Sha and the others.
“I’ve warned you before,” Wu Ze said with disdain. “You have no idea the gap between a Demon-Extinguishing level and a semi-god level.”
“Those who reach the divine realm possess a divine essence within them,” Wu Ze said as he stepped toward Xue Sha and Tie Niu. “Only when their divine essence is destroyed will they fall. And the hardness of that divine essence—even for those who have just become gods—is comparable to that of top-tier divine weapons. You have no way of killing me, so you can only choose to be killed by me…”
“Let them go!”
Suddenly, a voice came to Wu Ze’s ears as he approached the two. He looked up at Ye Feng, who was trapped, and said disdainfully, “Why should I listen to you? You’re already in my grasp. Why keep them alive to cause me more trouble?”
“Although you’ve captured me, killing them won’t get you any information from me,” Ye Feng replied coldly, staring back at Wu Ze.
After a long while, Wu Ze finally decided to back down, as he saw unwavering determination in Ye Feng’s eyes. “Fine, I can let them go. But to avoid trouble, I’ll erase their memories of this period. I don’t want them to find our Black Witch Clan’s location and cause us problems.”
Ye Feng knew this was the greatest concession the other party could make.
Xue Sha and Tie Niu glared at Wu Ze in fury but were powerless to resist their fate.
Ye Feng didn’t intervene. After witnessing Wu Ze’s strength, he knew he had no way to stop this from happening.

Wu Ze placed his hands on the foreheads of the two people. A milky white light appeared above his hands before disappearing in an instant. The two then closed their eyes and fell into deep sleep.

“I’ve kept my promise and spared them. Come with me!” Wu Ze glanced at Ye Feng. Without waiting for a reply, he waved his hand to remove the tentacles surrounding Ye Feng. His muscled body gradually shrank back to its original form. He picked up a random piece of clothing and headed in the direction of the teleportation array.

“Are you also going to Aitan City?” Ye Feng asked, puzzled, looking at Wu Ze.

“This teleportation array can take you to many places in the Demon Realm, not just Aitan City,” Wu Ze said, turning his face away from Ye Feng. “Come on. Don’t even think about escaping. You can’t get away from me.”

“Got it,” Ye Feng replied. He glanced back at Xue Sha and Tie Niu for the last time before following Wu Ze.

“The place we’re going to is called Blackwater City, a very remote area on the Demon Realm continent. We must reach there first before we can return to our gathering place.” The two stepped onto the teleportation array. Wu Ze adjusted the pointer to point at Blackwater City before speaking slowly.

A strong white light flashed before their eyes, and when they regained consciousness, the scene before them had changed.

Ye Feng stared at the desolate area ahead, his eyes filled with shock. “Where is this?”

Wu Ze remained expressionless. Without even glancing at Ye Feng, he continued walking straight ahead.

It was a valley surrounded by huge black stones. Not a single blade of grass grew on those stones, except for a few plants with a dangerous aura scattered across the valley floor, which made Ye Feng frown.

Ye Feng followed Wu Ze along the path at the bottom of the valley. After turning a corner, they finally saw what appeared to be a dilapidated village.

There were no bricks or tiles on the houses; they were all built from those black stones, giving them a primitive appearance. The village wasn’t large, with only dozens of households living closely together.

“Is this Blackwater City?” Ye Feng couldn’t believe there was such a harsh place on this continent.

“That’s right!” Wu Ze nodded expressionlessly.

At that moment, a little girl rushed out of one of the stone-built houses. She saw Wu Ze from afar and ran over excitedly, calling out, “Uncle Wu Ze, Uncle Wu Ze…”

Ye Feng silently lowered his head. The girl was quite young, appearing to be about seven or eight years old. Her clothes were clean and tidy, but the fabric was clearly the cheapest, lowest-quality kind, with many patches of various sizes on them.

“Uncle Wu Ze, you’ve brought a friend back!” The little girl ran up to Wu Ze, her face filled with an excited smile as she looked up at him.

“Mm.” Wu Ze nodded with a smile, patted the girl’s head, and took out a doll from his ring to give to her. “Be good, Xiao Ya. I have some urgent matters today and need to take this friend to my place. Is the village chief here?”

“Grandpa Village Chief is here.” Xiao Ya nodded before secretly glancing up at Ye Feng, who was slightly taller than Wu Ze, and sizing him up. Then she said to Wu Ze, “This brother is more handsome than uncle!”

Wu Ze gave Ye Feng a somewhat annoyed look before coaxing Xiao Ya away, muttering unhappily, “Why call me uncle and you ‘brother’…”

Ye Feng smiled without saying anything.

Wu Ze led Ye Feng into a house made of stone piles. Inside, an old man with white hair and beard had a weathered face, but his black eyes were so deep that Ye Feng couldn’t see the bottom.

“A master!” Ye Feng became alert.

“Mr. Wu Ze, you’re here. Who is this…” The old man slowly examined Ye Feng.

“A friend. I plan to take him to my territory. I came by first to give you a heads up.” Wu Ze seemed somewhat urgent.

“Oh.” The old man nodded, curiously looking at Ye Feng before turning his gaze back to Wu Ze. “Hm, your body…”

“Village Chief.” Wu Ze shook his head at him. The village chief immediately fell silent, casting a wary glance at Ye Feng before nodding. “I understand. You go ahead. There’s no need to inform an old man like me about such things.”

“Then we’ll be leaving!” After saying that, Wu Ze turned and left with Ye Feng.

Yet Ye Feng was puzzled. What exactly did the old man mean by Wu Ze’s body? He stopped speaking halfway, seemingly because of Ye Feng’s presence.

“Wu Ze, where are we going now?” Ye Feng chose a topic to start a conversation.

“To our territory. Just follow me!” Wu Ze didn’t even turn around, looking somewhat anxious.

Ye Feng didn’t say more and rushed forward with him.

In front of a calm lake, Wu Ze stopped in his tracks. To Ye Feng’s surprise, the lake water was black—so dark that nothing could be seen. There was not a trace of life around the lake, which alarmed Ye Feng. “Could the water be poisonous?” He watched as Wu Ze walked to the edge of the lake and emitted a strange sound, as if calling for something. Ye Feng waited patiently nearby. Soon, the ground began to shake violently, as if some enormous creature was slowly waking up. Ye Feng glanced warily at the lake, sensing that the vibrations came from the bottom. Wu Ze continued to make those strange sounds, and Ye Feng didn’t dare relax his vigilance for a moment. Soon, a gurgling noise came from the lake as something began to float toward the surface. Ye Feng stared intently at the lake, while Wu Ze’s incomprehensible murmurs continued. Suddenly, huge waves rose on the lake’s surface. Ye Feng and Wu Ze immediately leaped into the air to avoid being hit by the waves. It was a giant black python, its enormous head hissing as it flicked its fangs. From Ye Feng’s estimate, its mouth was over ten meters long, and its massive head covered an area of perhaps 200 square meters—something that filled him with fear. “Wu Ze, it seems you’re getting worse. It took you so long to wake me up,” a deep voice came from the python’s mouth, its gaze hostile as it stared at Wu Ze. “Ba She, stop talking nonsense. Take us to your territory,” Wu Ze said coldly, seemingly unafraid of the python. “Hm, isn’t this little guy from the Wu clan?” The python’s gaze shifted to Ye Feng. It brought its head closer, hissing as it flicked its fangs. Its huge, cold eyes examined Ye Feng carefully. “This scent… seems familiar… yet also annoying…” “Ba She, stop wasting my time. Everything smells annoying to you. Stop talking nonsense,” Wu Ze said, though he seemed somewhat wary of the python as well. “Indeed. But this little guy isn’t as simple as you think. His aura gives me an unpleasant sense of familiarity. I hate that feeling… How about you let me eat him?” The python turned to look at Wu Ze, seemingly seeking his approval.

“Ba She, he is a guest of our Black Witch Clan. Don’t forget that your contract period hasn’t yet ended—you must not defy the clan leader’s orders.” Wu Ze stepped forward and blocked Ye Feng behind him.
“Contract period?” The giant python laughed loudly. “Isn’t the contract period set to expire at the end of this year? The bonds binding me to you will soon be lifted.”
“That’s true, but it’s not yet the end of the year. As long as one day of the contract period remains, you must abide by its terms. Now, take us to the Witch Clan’s territory immediately!” Wu Ze’s expression showed clear annoyance.
“Alright, alright, no need to glare at me. I, Ba She, am decisive. Until the contract ends, it’s my duty, and I will definitely carry it out.” The giant python said, opening its massive mouth. “Come in!”
