Chapter 234: The Twelve-Year-Old Boy

Mix Planet is a second-class cultivation planet. Unlike most cultivation planets, it is home to many ordinary people—over 95% of its population. However, unlike Earth, these ordinary people are aware of the existence of cultivators and aspire to become one themselves.
Mosi is an orphan who grew up alone. Apparently, starting from the age of three, when his memory was still unclear, he already learned to beg and steal food on the streets.
He is twelve years old now, but looks like an eight- or nine-year-old. Prolonged malnutrition has slowed his physical development. His thin frame gives him a sickly appearance, but in reality, he is stronger and more agile than children his age—thanks to years of being chased by others.
On Mix Planet, there are many children in a similar situation. Most of them were abandoned because they were diagnosed as lacking cultivation talent at birth.
Every parent hopes to have a child with cultivation talent. Once the child grows up and is taken in by a cultivation sect, their living conditions can improve, and their status can rise as well.
Mosi doesn’t know why his parents abandoned him, nor does he want to know. To him, any explanation seems futile. He envies other children for having parents to rely on, but he has never thought about finding his biological parents. He only hopes to join a major sect and become a cultivator someday.
And his fate is quietly changing.
The moment Ye Feng first saw this child, he felt a pang of sorrow. The child’s tattered clothes, though full of patches and holes, still appeared clean. His slightly yellow hair was messy, but it seemed to have been washed not long ago. His young face was filled with stubbornness…
Just as Fat tried to approach Mosi with a fake smile, Ye Feng stopped him.
“What are you doing?” Fat didn’t understand why Ye Feng was acting like this.
“Let me do it. You’re not suited to getting close to children. If you go, you’ll just be seen as a child trafficker,” Ye Feng said sarcastically.
“Fine, then you do it!” Fat didn’t argue and instead gestured invitingly.

Ye Feng wasn’t polite either; he simply walked past him and headed toward the little boy named Mossy.
The little boy watched Ye Feng approaching with some wariness.
“Hello, I’m Ye Feng. You must be Mossy, right?” Ye Feng didn’t pretend not to know him.
“You’re the eleventh person to approach me today!” Mossy replied bluntly. “But you’re a bit different from them!”
“What’s different?” Hearing that Mossy thought he was different, he knew this could be a good start.
“They all pretend not to know me at first but still try to talk to me,” Mossy analyzed accurately. “Normally, when I sit here, no one would take the initiative to talk to me!”
“This street is called Garbage Street. Most people living nearby know me. To them, I’m just a bad kid with a father but no mother. Most of them won’t approach me on their own, and many even tell their own children not to associate with me…” Mossy continued.
“You must have had a hard time these years…” Ye Feng sighed deeply after hearing Mossy’s story.
Mossy glanced at Ye Feng sitting beside him in surprise. “I’ve gotten used to it over the years!”
“Mossy, I’m sure you already know why I’m here!” Ye Feng said bluntly.
“I know,” Mossy nodded. “Earlier today, two very pretty girls came to me. They told me they wanted the necklace around my neck!”
“Oh, and did you agree to give it to them?” Ye Feng asked further.
“No, their demands were unmet!” Mossy shook his head.
“What kind of demands even the Flower Sect can’t meet?” Ye Feng pressed.
“I want to become a cultivator, join a major sect, and then fight demons!” Mossy’s eyes were filled with longing.
“That sounds good, but the Flower Sect is the second-strongest super-large organization in the entire cultivation world. Why don’t you join them?” Ye Feng continued.
“I don’t want to. Their sect is full of women! If I’m going to find a place, it has to be a sect like the Sky Sword Sect, where everyone is male!” Mossy shook his head firmly.
“What other demands do you have?” Ye Feng pressed further.
“I want my own room and to eat enough every day…” Mossy made simple and straightforward requests.
“That’s easy to arrange!” Ye Feng nodded.
“What sect do you belong to?” Mossy asked.

“I’m none of those!” Ye Feng shook his head and laughed. “I’m just an ordinary cultivator.”
“Then you’d better leave. You can’t force me to join another sect, and I certainly won’t give you the necklace.” Mo Xi directly invoked the expulsion order.
“Mo Xi, you’re a smart kid. You know very well that your physique isn’t suitable for cultivation at all!” Ye Feng finally stopped beating around the bush.
“I know!” Mo Xi fell silent for a moment before finally nodding.
“You have a pulseless constitution; joining any sect won’t allow you to cultivate.” Ye Feng shook his head. “Do you plan to just join any sect casually and muddle along? Then watch as your fellow disciples, even those younger than you, surpass you in cultivation and become stronger. End up living in gloom for the rest of your life, dying within that sect?”
“You’re only twelve. You still have a long road ahead. Don’t follow others blindly. Just because others flock to do something doesn’t mean you should rush to join in. First, think about what the consequences will be! After considering those, then decide if it’s necessary to do it!”
“Can’t one really cultivate with a pulseless constitution?” Mo Xi lowered his head and remained silent for a while before looking up at Ye Feng.
“I’m sorry, but that’s all I can say.” Ye Feng nodded.
“What else can I do then?” Mo Xi seemed at a loss.
“Living an ordinary life can also be a form of happiness!” Ye Feng comforted him.
“But I’m not happy. I have no family, no friends…” Mo Xi shook his head dejectedly. “I always thought that if I ever got the chance to join a major sect, I could succeed and my life would change.”
“In fact, as long as you’re willing to put in enough effort, even as an ordinary person, you can take control of your own destiny.” Ye Feng continued to comfort him.
Just then, Fat’s voice intruded awkwardly, speaking to Ye Feng and Mo Xi in a sarcastic tone, “Who told you that those with a pulseless constitution can’t cultivate?”
Ye Feng looked at Fat in confusion.
“A pulseless constitution indeed can’t circulate vital energy in the body, but if the cultivation method doesn’t rely on the body’s meridians, it’s completely possible to bypass that limitation and cultivate!” Fat said proudly.
“Is that really possible?” Little Mo Xi looked at Fat excitedly.
“Do I look like someone who would lie?” Fat said with a proud expression.

“What method?” Ye Feng also wanted to know what method Fat had.
“It’s simple—physical cultivation!”
“That won’t work, right? Although physical cultivation mainly focuses on the body, it still requires the energy flowing through the meridians to strengthen the body further.” Ye Feng shook his head; he certainly knew what physical cultivation was.
“No, I’m talking about the improved version of physical cultivation!” Fat shook his head. “The current form of physical cultivation does indeed need to rely on the flow of energy within the body. But in fact, millions of years ago, physical cultivation was originally designed for those with abnormal meridians.”
“In ancient times, the true form of physical cultivation didn’t require the assistance of meridians. Those people trained their muscles and bones to the extreme through various methods, achieving immense strength and speed—true war machines.”
“Over time, however, fewer and fewer people had abnormal meridians, and the process of physical cultivation became too painful and slow. So, some people modified the techniques to incorporate the flow of energy within the body, making it much faster and less strenuous—though the effectiveness was reduced.”
“Can you teach me?” Xiao Moxi looked at Fat with anticipation.
“I can’t, because I’m not a practitioner of physical cultivation!” Fat shook his head.
“It’s all nonsense!” Ye Feng snapped. He had already dissuaded the kid from pursuing cultivation, but Fat’s words reignited Moxi’s desire to train.
“That’s not nonsense. Although I can’t practice physical cultivation, I have an ancient secret book on it.” Fat proudly took out a book from his storage ring. “I can give this book to you and teach you how to cultivate! Though I’m not a practitioner, I can explain many of the terms clearly. Besides, I’ve studied this technique somewhat and know roughly how to practice it!”
“How did you get this?” Ye Feng asked curiously.
“You see, I used to be in the Heavenly Realm, had some power, and a group of friends. My personal treasure vault contains many amazing things you’ve never seen!” Fat boasted again.
“If that’s the case, let’s take him with us!” Ye Feng ignored Fat’s boasting completely. “Moxi, do you want to come with us?”
Moxi nodded.
Just then, a loud voice came from not far away, “Let go of that child and leave immediately!”
