Chapter 682: Collecting Divine Abominations
The wisp of will left by the Lord of Glory within the statue did not last long. After fulfilling its mission, it separated from the statue, and two orbs—containing portions of the Lord of Glory, Aman, and the Goddess of Silver Moon, Sirena’s divine consciousness—flew toward Donald.
With a flash of golden light, these two orbs were placed safely inside the Book of Truth.
It could be said that there were few places in the multiverse safer than the Book of Truth; even some realms of higher gods might not compare.
The group left the lifeless Temple of Glory and headed straight for the prisons where the divine abomination creatures were confined.
It must be admitted that the Lord of Glory’s promise was tempting—just these abominations were enough to make even higher gods covet them.
Moreover, this was a task related to the Lord of Elves. Even out of consideration for Ignatz, Donald would choose to accept and complete it.
Besides, if his assumptions were correct, completing this task would require him to confront the Lord of Dawn, Ivan—so he certainly couldn’t give up this assignment.
Donald had long understood that given the deep enmity between him and such an extreme true god as the Lord of Dawn, what started as a minor conflict would only intensify over time. Even if he compromised, the other party wouldn’t yield, leaving no room for reconciliation. Thus, he naturally wouldn’t naively hope for peace.
He saw this clearer than many true gods—the more you compromise, the more you lose. Your opponent grows stronger, and eventually, you might not even have a chance to resist!
It was better to take advantage of this opportunity offered by the Lord of Glory’s task—perhaps it would give him a better chance to turn things around earlier, without having to wait until he became a higher god!
So, despite the numerous dangers, Donald was excited to take the risk!
“Even if I fail, at worst, I’ll only anger that Lord of Dawn even more!”
After forming his plan, Donald secretly discussed this astonishing plan with the Loki brothers through telepathy.
Before they left, Ignatz had already instructed them to follow Donald’s lead. So naturally, Loki had no objections, and since Loki had no objections, Thor didn’t either. In truth, it was Donald who was truly taking the risk. All they needed to do was cheer him on from the sidelines!
This prison dimension for divine abominations was a reward prepared in advance by the Lord of Glory for fulfilling his task.
“This is a powerful war weapon created by the ancient gods; even if broken apart, it remains excellent material for divine artifacts. If we breed them and let them reproduce on their own, we’ll have an inexhaustible source of immortal material.”
“I think we should start by selecting some to collect, leaving the rest in this grand plane as a shared resource for the Pantheon of Nature and the Pantheon of Elves in the future.”
Loki strongly agreed with Donald’s proposal. He never cared much about power or such things; all he cared about were his family, friends, and his brother Thor.
As for the security of this plane, the Lord of Light had instructed that the Guardian Token served as the control hub for this plane, directly linked to its core. Even after they left, it could hide the plane again, ensuring it wouldn’t be discovered.
As one of the strongest ancient pantheons, the Pantheon of Light had gathered most of the divine abominations created in ancient times, including powerful beings like the Hundred-Armed Giants. Although this grand plane was a prison for these abominations, it allowed them to reproduce among themselves. Over the years, countless strange new abomination races emerged. Yet these newborn abominations were often trapped by the plane’s powerful rules from birth until someone came to release them.
Thus, over the ages from ancient times to the present, countless abominations have been trapped in this plane. If all of them were released, they might even destroy half of the multiverse in an instant.
With the control power of the Guardian Token, Donald and Loki could easily access the imprisonment of these abominations. But since there was only one token, they couldn’t act separately and had to take turns collecting them.
First, they went to where Anaxim, the mechanical abomination Donald had his eye on, was located.
“The ancient gods truly are amazing in their creation. If it hadn’t fallen into the state of an abomination, Anaxim would have at least had the potential to become a mid-tier god!”
As Loki used the token to lift the invisible restraint, the Kingdom of the Book of Truth immediately enveloped this knight-like puppet and transferred it to its own realm to imprison it.
Next came the abomination cage that interested Loki.
It was an ugly creature trapped in a puddle, resembling a tentacled monster that kept changing shape. Its wet, pale tentacles dripped with mucus, looking disgusting and evil. Donald quickly recognized it as the so-called most ugly abomination—Dream Pupa.
Legend has it that this abominable creature possesses the power to distort minds; those who are seen by it suffer nightmares, and those with weak wills often die of fear outright.
When Donald saw that Loki had chosen this abominable creature, he frowned and said, “This thing is truly disgusting, but its fear-inducing power against souls is indeed extremely strong, with a sense of destruction and doom. It’s worth studying carefully!”
Loki nodded and began to capture this abominable creature. Although he didn’t have a nearly omnipotent tool like the Book of Truth, he was still a powerful higher deity. First, he set up a layer of his own magical restrictions outside the cage before releasing the bonds of the rule cage.
The Dream Pupa, which had been imprisoned for countless years, was caught off guard. Before it could react, as it tried to move forward by waving its tentacles, it fell into a powerful restriction trap. Its body instantly stiffened, then was enveloped by a beam of black light emitted by Loki. Within that light, it quickly shrank down to the size of a palm-sized statue and fell into Loki’s hands.
Having captured this Dream Pupa, which possessed the strength of a lower deity at least, it was time to move on to another abominable creature of thunderattribute that Thor had taken a liking to.
The Loki brothers had only been in this universe and in contact with the outside world for a short time, so they naturally didn’t know many types of abominable creatures. Donald glanced at the Time Dragon beside him; seeing that it also shook its head, he said, “I’ve never heard of this abominable creature. It must be a species that evolved on its own in this grand plane. But its thunder attribute is quite special—there’s a sense of power akin to that of heaven and earth, different from the lightning produced by ordinary divine spells!”
It resembled a hybrid of a fox and a wolf, but with a somewhat sharp-faced appearance. Its body was covered in silver-blue fur, with streaks of electricity flickering across it from time to time.
“Since it has no name, let’s call it the Thunder Beast!”
Thor laughed as he named this abominable creature. Then, he swung Mjolnir to set up a thick layer of electric nets outside the cage, signaling Loki to release the Thunder Beast from its confinement.
The crystal token in Loki’s hand flashed, and the invisible chains of rules dissolved on their own. The Thunder Beast, once locked in the cage, immediately showed its fierce side, charging outward with lightning that seemed to carry immense force.
The electric nets set up by Thor failed to have the desired effect under the Thunder Beast’s fierce assault. Perhaps because it was a creature naturally capable of controlling lightning, those nets had little impact on it and it almost broke through the barriers to escape.
Fortunately, that thunder network wasn’t just powered by lightning. There was also the law of lightning that Thor mastered. The thunder beast’s understanding of this law was far inferior to that of Thor, who had once been a higher god, which is why it couldn’t break through the blockade. Otherwise, even an ordinary mid-tier god wouldn’t be able to withstand such intense lightning attacks.
“Damn it!” Thor roared in frustration, then shook the divine artifact in his hand—the Mjolnir—emitting intense lightning. With a thunderous crash, the lightning struck the thunder beast, knocking it off its feet, though it was only stunned and not severely injured.
Seeing the beast shaking its head, about to regain consciousness, Thor simply leaped onto its back and swung his lightning-brightened hammer hard against its head!
Thor wanted to tame this thunder beast as his mount, so he used only half his strength with this strike. Yet even the Mjolnir, at the peak of mid-tier divine artifacts, was enough to make the beast—whose strength rivaled that of a lower-tier divine artifact—groan in pain as its head slammed into the ground, struggling desperately.
“Still not submitting?” Sensing the beast’s struggles beneath him, Thor raised his hammer again and smashed it hard against its neck.
This strike was even more forceful than the first. Creatures like wolves and dogs often have weak necks despite strong bodies, let alone these abominations, whose combat power rivaled that of true gods and whose recovery abilities were astonishing. Thor wasn’t afraid that this strike would cripple his mount!
But abominations remained abominations because they lacked the intelligence of normal creatures, their souls filled with negative and twisted emotions. Naturally, they had no notion of surrendering or submitting.
So despite being severely injured and completely unable to resist, the thunder beast still tried violently to attack its rider.
In the end, Loki couldn’t stand by any longer. He stepped forward and used a divine spell to imprison the beast’s soul, then said coldly, “What’s the point of fighting a mindless abomination?”
Thor, who was usually fearless, calmed down upon seeing his brother. He stammered an explanation, “I was just trying to tame a mount!”
Donald laughed from the side and said, “Don’t be disappointed. As long as we extract its soul and the twisted forces inside it and implant a blank soul, you can train whatever mount you want!”
Thor’s face lit up with joy as he heard this. Since he lacked Loki’s abilities and a sacred space to store living beings, he temporarily left the Thunder Beast in Donald’s Realm of Truth. After taking care of Thor’s mount, it was Donald’s turn to do the same. They also asked the Time Dragon, Chiyotorejio, if he wanted to keep a few divine abominations for fun. After all, the divine abominations in this large plane were virtually inexhaustible for them, with new ones constantly emerging every few decades. However, Chiyotorejio was merely curious and not really interested. Moreover, he had made a promise before, so it would be improper for him to go back on it.
